I would be extremely surprised if McDermott brought in a defensive coordinator and allowed them to implement anything other than his McDefense.

Why take on the challenge of change when you're getting $10M per year to keep doing the same old thing. I'm always wary of leaders that think their "process" is king. Keep following the process until it actually works so you can satisfy your own ego. Sadly McDermott hasn't been a bad leader throughout his tenure, he's just stubborn and stuck on following his own mantra while the league continues to roll on. He can't or won't adapt. If he doesn't have the players to fit his system to a T, he keeps pushing and hoping it'll all click at some point. He should have learned that even if he gets the "right" players, injuries can impact the course of the season drastically. New crew, same tired old plans.

I don't disagree, but I think many have grown tired of seeing the same issues come up again and again. It feels like there's no learning from last week or last year. In a relative sense they're still a decent team with a great QB, but it's leadership struggles to adapt or change. The team has played less than inspired football for a significant portion of this season. That may be the most difficult pill to swallow. I like what McDermott has brought to the organization in terms of leadership and stability, but he's in a high pressure role where yesterday matters little.

You're still constantly giving bad teams better players. Too many stay bad until management or coaches change. Give every team the same shot at a acquiring talent. Make poor decisions, get poor results. If you can't develop your players and provide them with poor coaching, you'll still stink. You don't give a homeless drunk a Ferrari every year because he's down on his luck and it's somehow better for society. Give everyone an equal shot at the talent pool. I'm not even sure it would benefit the Bills with some of their decision making, but it certainly stop feeding lower end talent to organizations that do it the right way.

I'm not saying I agree with everything he's saying, but at some point you have question the repeated bad luck on the injury front. Yes it's going to happen on some level, but it should even out over time relative to other teams. I'm sure people wouldn't question it as much if our defense was generally more productive. When you see the same issues year after year, there's generally more to it.

I'm not suggesting tanking, ever, but I disagree that the draft "works". Bad teams shouldn't keeping getting high picks year after year until they're competitive. Moving through the draft gives teams the opportunity to address different needs in different years. If you have people making poor draft decisions, they need to go or the organization can dwell in the basement. Just like I don't think the sabres should be rewarded for their perpetual suckitude. Don't allow a stream of high picks go to teams that have proven they're likely to mismanage them. It's not good for the league or the player.

How's that worked for the Jets the last 15 years?

I hate the fact that the draft rewards poorly run organizations. I'd love to see a rotating pick model where the teams that picked on the perimeter of the draft are then moved towards the middle. Forget how teams finished the previous year. Don't reward poor performance. Yr 1 - 1st pick Yr 2 - 31st pick Yr 3 - 16th pick Yr 4 - 17 pick Yr 5 - 2nd pick yr 6 - 30th pick yr 7 - 15th pick yr 8 - 18th pick

I want to know two things: 1. How'd you get a key to Brandon Beane's office? 2. Why'd he leave his 2026 draft plan on his desk?

The state of the talent around Allen is indefensible. The defensive play has been average to well below that for years. I do think it's time for a coaching change. I doubt it will happen.
