  1. I'll be watching on channel 13 in Rochester. On local TV stations all across NYS.
  2. Hey, I agree. After David Hartman left, it was all down hill.
  3. So, I love the John Brown and Cole Beasley signings. I think it compliments our current WR's and I also feel it spells the end of Mr. Unreliable, Zay "Hands of Stone" Jones. But lest we forget our own version of DK Metcalf who is already signed, sealed and delivered.....Duke Williams. What say you?
  4. Which pick did you like the most? Thurman Thomas (value in relation to where he was picked) Which pick did you like the least? Mike Williams (never seemed to even try to live up to his hype/potential) Which draft picks will start this year? White, Milano, Dawkins, Edmunds, and many others Which late pick (post third round) has the best chance to start this year? Kyle Williams Which pick won't make the team? Prohel Will Josh Allen start at any point this upcoming season? Yes - Day 1 - Rack It! Were you satisfied with the Bill's draft? Depending on the year..yes
  5. First Mr. Trump, thanks for joining TSW. It's a great place to "banter". Second, the National Anthem is in no way a political song or otherwise political in any way, shape or form. The National Anthem is a tribute to those brave men and women who currently or have served and/or given their lives for the freedoms we have gained. One of those freedom's is the right to assemble, the right to bare arms, the right to speak freely and the right to protest. Let us not do away with the very foundation of what this country was founded on or what this country continues to fight for every moment, of every day across the globe. Go Bills and God Bless the United States of America!
  6. Keep it going..... Q: Who was the first Buffalo Bill to score a touchdown in a Super Bowl?
  7. Hey Bills Fan, Question: Why is it if the Bills do nothing, we suck and if the Bills make moves, we suck? Is the view from your parents basement that shallow? We have done what many of YOU have called for for years; clean house? Strip the ship and start anew. Now that we have taken steps to do just that, it's still not good enough. Maybe the Clearasil vapors are affecting your thought process, but I, for one, enjoy monitoring the steps to success MY team is taking to improve!
  8. Let me start by sharing my condolences over the loss of Ron and Nicole and their families and friends! Now, should anyone like to study the facts leading up to the crime, during the trial and post verdict, please consider reading O.J. is Innocent and I can Prove it by William C. Dear. I, like many on this board and across the country never thought for a moment O.J. was not the killer of these two innocent victims. That said, for no other reason than reading pleasure, I dug into some long since and recently published evidence and as such, have no doubt that O.J. is not only innocent, the actual killer is named with more evidence than that which found O.J. justifiably "not guilty". I understand the sensitivity of this case, so many years later...however, read the book, you too might be shocked at what has finally been made public and why! PS - William C. Dear is a world renowned homicide investigator. For instance, he was appointed by the court to the exhumation of Lee Harvey Oswald. PPS - In my personal opinion, what he did on the field has nothing to do with what happened in his personal life.
  9. People, I've been a Bills fan for 35 years. Been through it all. The highs and lows. I, buy no means am trying to rain on anyone parade, however, WE WON ONE GAME! Trent Edwards lead us to five in a row. We were ready to buy SuperBowl Tickets (I know I was). Yes, we have improved our roster, coaching and execution by the initial look of it. But WE WON ONE GAME! We are going to play the Patriots Sunday. Home? Yes? Inspired? Yes? Motivated? Yes? Over zealous? Very! I love my Bills. I love Sundays. I loath the off season. I bleed Red, White and Blue. But, WE WON ONE GAME...............Pats 32.....Bills 21
  10. Losing Fred really touched me. I remember sitting in my office the day Jimbo retired. I remember feeling as if I'd lost an old friend. Fred's departure was similar. This feel was only magnified when I heard of his potential signing with Seattle. Now, this has nothing to do with the Seahawks. Rather, thinking of Fred in any another uniform is bothersome. Selfishly enough, I would much rather have heard that Fred had decided to retire. Do I think Fred's got some tread left on his tires? Yes, I believe he has another six to ten games left in him as a backup. Do I think Fred will bring to the Seahawks (or any other team he signs with) the same fire, passion, inspiriation and tenacity he brought to us? No, I do not. I believe as heavy as our hearts are, Fred's is equally as heavy. I believe whatever Fred's next move is, it will be purely for financial security and he will ride that train for as long as it chugs along. And I don't blame him one bit! Fred will sign a one day contract with Buffalo in February, 2016. He will return to the podium and announce his retirement from the NFL and during one of our eight home games next season, will take his place on the Wall of Fame at The Ralph. Tyrod Taylor - I see a little bit of Wilson, Vick, Flutie and Jeff George. Jeff George you say? Yes, Jeff George. Rarely have I seen a QB throw the ball with such little effort. The fluidity and ease with which George passed the ball was fun to watch (even if the rest of George was a nutjob). Tyrod seems to be one of those QB's who will find his comfort zone and find ways to accentuate his skill set. Roman will support this by game planning to Tyrod's strengths, not Sammy's or McCoys or anyone else. Tyrod will cement himself as a long standing starting QB for the Bills. The only concern I have is adding him to the long list of players on the "need to resign/extend" list. We finally have our QB. Bank on it.
  11. 25 years 1 billion dollars 500 million gtd
  12. EJ Manuel is going to be an excellent NFL QB, represtantive of the Buffalo Bills and driving force in our return to respectibility! He learned this off season that he doesn't have to be the perfect QB. He shouldn't try to be CK, RW, DB, PM or any other "franchise QB". He only needs to be the best EJ he can. Excentuate his strengths, minimize his weaknesses and manage the clock, the cadence and the offense as a whole. Trent Dilfer proved effective working within this plan, allowing his defense to tempo the outcome of the game. EJ will develop and mature into a reliable, trustworthy field general. That's all we need from him.......consistantly, week in and week out!
  13. I share your concerns! I really can't tell if it's Hacket's conservative play calling or EJ's distrust in his downfield progressions. Either way, more often than not, I find myself scratching my head wondering why the constant checkdown's. What, exactly, do we have to lose by stretching the field? When it's 3 and 11 and we throw a two hard out, where is the value in that? Nonetheless, great game, great feeling going into work Monday and a great week by and large! Let's keep the foot on the gas and take it to the fish!
  14. Excellent post! Very insightful. I truly hope your father is okay and it's a location issue versus physical. Thanks a ton!
  15. Great day to be a Bill's fan. Heck, anytime we win is a great day to be a Bill's fan, however, as many of you have suggested, there really seems to be a welcomed sense of renewed hope and optimism in the air. I have been a die hard Bill's fan since 1980. Due to the military "goings on" that year, I was even married on January 28, 1991 versus the following week. A TV was brought into the reception hall and in between smootching after the clanking of wine glasses with forks and knives, all eyes were glued to the greatest sporting event ever televised. That said, I always seemed to enter every new NFL season with optimism. "This was going to be the year". Year after year! Over the past three or four seasons, I have found myself thinking less about a successful season and more about what portion of the team/organization will blow up this year. This year just feels different. I don't get the party line rhetoric from Marrone, Whaley or Brandon. I was very pleased to see a bunch of Sean Payton's brought onboard versus George Sieferts. Knowing how thin we were at LB and WR, we actually addressed those concerns during the draft and via off season trades and FA's. We landed a franchise QB. A real franchise QB. Not some surfer dude of kid who wanted to be like Favre versus himself. Today, while watching the game, although position battles were important to keep an eye on, I really wanted to go against the grain and look at our play calling and clock management. I wanted to see a good shuffle of players and a comittment to playing to our strengths, especially on offense. I truly saw a lot of positives within all of these areas. Marrone "coached" his young QB through some early jitters. He "coached" his second string rookie to a very impressive display of talent and maturity. Having a 33 year old OC is refreshing. Truly. So how do i see our Bill's of the Future (you will find my prediction very pedestrian).......something like this: 1. We will win a couple games we shouldn't have; 2. We will lose a couple games we shouldn't have; 3. We will suffer our fair share of injuries and/or individual player letdowns; 4. We will most likely make some questionable cuts prior to the season; 5. We will not make the Super Bowl this season, from a realistic probability standpoint; 6. We will, however, drastically improve our play; 7. We will be coached from a 21st Century viewpoint; 8. We will probably finish ~8-8 this season; 9. We will be a true contender next season........if: 1. We stop allowing consistently productive players (Levitre) leave at the end of their contract(s), especially without getting anything in return via trade, draft pick, compensatory picks, etc.; 2. We continue to plug the holes, such as CB and RG. Honestly, I do not believe we have any greater holes on our team. And even so, currently our CB and RG position could be a lot worse; 3. Run the ball!!!!!!!! If Nate is a man of his word, Spiller should need IV's at the end of each game; 4. Don't put EJ, CJ, TJ, SJ in low percentage situations, such as: 3rd and 2 and try a 30 yard pass. 2nd and 8 and run a 3 yard fade, etc.....you know what I am talking about; 5. Finally, play to your players strengths. Don't be afraid to make a change and don't be afraid to take a risk or two. Risk brings people closer. It builds trust and confidence no matter what the outcome. Well, that's my soap box. Again, great day for all of us and most importantly, NO INJURIES DURING A MEANINGLESS GAME!!!! Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Bill's.
  16. What on earth does the weather have to do with Mana Silva?
  17. "Being Black"...really...you are the EXACT reason why racial ignorance still remains in our society! The color of any man's skin is only a factory to those who choose to see color in any sense of the word! Wow......talk about living in the past!
  18. Dr. Trooth...my point exactly. Yet, boundless threads suggest "if we only drafted Russell Wilson"...etc. We need to move on and develop our own.
  19. You know, I have read a lot about what might have been if the Bills would have selected Big Ben, Flacco, Wilson, Kapernick, Dalton, etc. That said, what is to say that with our terrible coaching staff over the past decade, our horrible coordinators, QB coaches, sub par lines, WR's, RB's, TE's, etc., that ANY of these successful QB's would have had any succes in Buffalo?! Sure, there are many intangibles that can't be coached, however, what type of support would we have provided these QB's? Does anyone believe Tom Brady would have had the same success in Buffalo with the likes of some of the supporting cast we have put on the field. RB's like Derrick Holmes, Joe Burns, Shawn Bryson; WR's like Sam Aiken, Avion Black ; TE's like Mark Campbell and Brad Cieslak. The list goes on and on. I too hope this new regime sees what has become so painfully obvious to all of us armchair qb's. We can't compete or contend in this league until our administration, team, coaches and scouts place a priority on seeing the obvious, having courage to make changes and investing money in their product on a larger scale that a quick hit to sell tickets. Thoughts?
  20. Which free agents stay? Which go? Kelsay? Freddy? Lindell? Spencer Johnson? McIntyre? Dickerson? Scott? McKelvin? Byrd? Levitre? What say you?
  21. Okay, I am not a troll....35 year Bills fan from Rochester. I was attempting to point out that as crazy as my post sounded, so was my personal feeling toward the hiring of Doug "Phoney" Marrone. Russ Brandon has been calling the shots for three years. Ralph has simply been a figure head. Russ' hands were all over the Nix hire, Gailey hire, Wandstett (sp) hire and so on. For those of us foolish enough to believe that Russ now has the freedom to make decisions and that massive change and modern day improvement are on the horizon, we are heading down the primrose path! We have wittnessed these decisions for three years, as stated above. I hope I am wrong about Marrone! Really I do. I was married January 19, 1991 (remember that date?), I have seen it all. I have laughed, cried, celebrated a Monday night victory over Dallas a few years ago with 1:00 left in the game only to walk out of my buddy's basement in complete and utter shock. I have seen Don Smith score the first Bills touchdown in a Super Bowl. I saw Don Beebe step out of bounds and return to catch the TD that helped us in the "comback". I just believe that once again, the Bills are hoping for a "home town" shock to stimulate ticket sales, save a little money telling Marrone that in three/four years, if you have proven yourself, we can talk real contract dollars and of course, selling this bill of goods to those of us who at this point in our loyal career as Bills fans, would buy just about anything!
  22. CJ Spiller - Traded to Oakland for Carson Palmer and a 5th Round Pick in the 2014 Draft; Fred Jackson - Retained but as Tashard Choice's backup; Ryan Fitzpatrick - Starts at QB while Carson Palmer is inactive for 15 games. Brad Smith is Ryan's backup. Tyler Thigpen takes over the wildcat formation; Stevie Johnson - Due to his previous down field blocking capabilities, is moved to TE and finishes the year with 353 yards on 115 catches Hey - What I script above is absoltutely NO CRAZIER than the Bills choosing Doug "Phoney" Marrone over Lovie Smith
