That seems about right. I know that the money matters, but If you hit on a 6th round corner then that makes missing on a first-round one a little bit easier to accept.

Here’s what I think happened. Diggs has thin skin. Eli Apple was taunting him all game, and he lost it. That happened very publicly. Instead of apologizing and making amends, he doubled and tripped down. The team gave him space to save face. He finally took that opportunity today.

He’s actually worth more than that. These guys have a unique skill that only a few people on the planet posses and that skill happens to generate a lot of publicity and money for franchises. Player values are artificially deflated by the salary cap. With the combination of his contract and commercial agreements with the club, Ronaldo is making over 200 million per year in Saudi. Without the cap, that’s what NFL QB contracts would look like. What’s Mahones worth in an upcapped world?

So then not “smartest,” but most negative. It’s an index of misery.

Just goes to show that the "Patriot Way" of joyless football only works if the team is winning Superbowls.

I have always thought that Centers are at a disadvantage. In the case of Morse, he calls the protection and has to handle the snap (usually a shotgun snap) before he gets to engage as a blocker. The guy he's blocking just gets to pin his ears back.

I live in Cincinnati. The locals were angry after that loss to the Browns on MNF. Joe Burrow was holding the ball forever and taking sacks. The line looked worse than in 2021. People wanted Zac Taylor fired for poor in-game management and bad play calling. Then they switched to the quick short passing game to mask the poor OL play after the bye week and they started rolling.

This place is currently populated by the type of fan who: 1) Posts on message boards: tends to skew older. The drought era left a reflexive negativity on our fandom. I mean for the better part of 20 years negative opinions were well founded. I turn 50 this year so I can understand that but for those who were adults in the 70s and 80s I would imagine that cuts even deeper. I remember the 2-14 80s, but I was a kid. Also, the Bills subreddit is a lot less negative than this place. 2) Posts on an NFL message board in mid June: We’re obsessed. I don’t live in WNY any longer, but I would have to imagine that the general fandom is much more positive than this place. I see it here in Cincinnati with the difference in tone between regular fans and the discussions on Jungle Noise. But the negativity on TBD is interesting. You see so much tempering of expectations in order to shield against future disappointment.

Joe Burrow's contract negotiations are going to be very interesting. Mike Brown doesn't have enough cash on hand to put into escrow to pay both him and Chase long-term top-dollar deals. I think both will get shorter deals just to keep the escrow down.

I’m a dad of two great kids. My son is a current deans list college student at Miami University (OH) and my daughter is a rising HS senior getting mail from Harvard and Yale. I couldn’t be more proud. But my own dad is in the hospital right now fighting for his life. He’s been a Bills fan since the AFL days and could use some prayers and positivity from the Mafia right now. So Happy Father’s Day dad and please get better.
