While it has little impact on me since I live in Memphis, things like this make me happy that after 5 years as a DirecTv subscriber I sent them packing a week ago and had cable installed yesterday. I'll subscribe to Center Ice as soon as the free preview ends.
I hope someone else added Mike Stratton to this debate before I did. He was top notch for an unbelievable defense in a high scorring, gun slinging AFL.
I was at a great little bar in Cleveland a couple of weeks ago that had peanuts for us to discard the shells on the floor. I was reminiscing that I hadn't done that since I was in a Ground Round nearly, whoops, make that over 20 years ago!
I know several people who have been in the Peace Corps. Opinions range from hate to love & devotion. You might do some research on the internet - many have "alumni" groups who call themselves Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Look for articles on or by "RPCV" Good luck - I wish I did it after college.
I could be wrong but my recollection is that when Burris got to the Colts he was unhappy and essentially admitted that he made a mistake when he left the Bills for "merely" money reasons.
I saw it years ago onstage at Niagara on the Lake. As much as I love theater, I simply didn't understand the Chronicles of Narnia. I guess I'm a little too simple for CS Lewis!
It does for me - I remember him as the Braves best player the first year or two of the franchise. As a 9 year old I thought he also owned the bakey on Main I'd pass with Dad on our way to the Aud!
Another Camp Turner grad here. I went for 2 or 3 consecutive years in the 69-72 time period. I loved it. If I recall correctly for the youngest it was one week and you had a two week option as you got older. A few years ago I found a Camp Turner coffee mug in the attic as we were moving. Still have it at the office.
You said it - I expected to see Dan Darraugh from the title, I remember siting in Rich stadium screaming for Marangi to play. You always love the backup when things are going bad!
If they were truly sports journalists, the name of their alma mater shouldn't matter!
As someone who moved out of WNY in 1983 I am still caught off guard when I hear "Buffalo basketball" mentioned nationally. I remember UB as a Div. III program. If they really aren't being covered the News should be blasted - the "Little Three" unfortunately is a thing of the past.
