  1. As an expatriate I have found that making my own, using Anchor Bar sauce is as good as it gets outside of Erie County!
  2. Said the graduate of Williamsville West High!
  3. I haven't seen him in years. It was great when he'd get mad at the audience because the phones weren't ringing and he'd refuse to preach until a certain dollar level was pledged! I never did get my "no obligation" pyramid power book.
  4. This one has intrigued me since I learned to read! I always assumed it was a family name but never met anyone who actually knew.
  5. By my memory you're right PTR. I still think of Lackawanna as the quintissential "company town" as I drive through it now. The only thing missing for the last 25 years is the "company."
  6. I remember as a young kid being VERY disappointed that the Sabres wouldn't have Trottier playing for them - I couldn't understand, as an 8 year old, how this "better" team couldn't have Buffalo's star hockey player! Those were the days- I still wear an "old time hockey" Est. 1928 with the Pepsi cap shirt!
  7. No one compares to one of my favorite Bills of all time. I'll never forget as a wide eyed 7 or 8 year old going to training camp at Niagara. One day my foot was stepped on by a rookie walking back to the clubhouse. I wasn't hurt, but was treated like a king by - Bobby Chandler. He made sure I had all the autographs I wanted by the end of the day. After that he went on to a pretty good career!
  8. Probably the funniest movie ever - saw the whole thing earlier this week. Although not the Dean my favorite line has always been "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
  9. UR '83 here. The thread brings back some memories, as do the periodic "garbage plate" threads.
  10. Talk about a childhood flashback!!!!!!!!! Thanks. As a kid we got to Fantasy Island once a year. We managed Crystal Beach a couple of times.
  11. I find myself checking the Amerks website regularly. I wish Empire would televise their games with some regularity. It reminds me a little of my first pro hockey games - watching Trottier, Villemure and others in the "pepsi cap"
  12. I've wondered throughout the year whether Barrett Ruud is the son of, or in any way related to, one of the Bills all time failures as a top pick - Tom Ruud.
  13. I like the addition of Mulder, but I am disappointed with how much Jocketty gave up. The reason the farm system has nothing is because he is very quick to give up on the young talent. I won't be convinced Mulder wasn't injured at the end of the year until he pitches 200-250 innings. Haren will win 12-15 for the A's and is a solid #2 starter in a year or so. Calero is an important part of a 'pen. Barton will be a major league catcher in two years, although Yadier should catch 140 games per season for years to come.
