  1. Win win would be if they were both dead. The murderer is 22 so we get to pay for his incarceration for a very long time unless he gets the death penalty.
  2. This is a huge issue for me, right up there with deficit spending. I applaud Arizona for taking action. Racial profiling will be a problem. They'll have to find ways to apply the new law more fairly. We do need a better system of ID. It's amazing to me how soft both parties in Washington have been on illegal immigration for years. Washington has failed miserably at border security and has shown no will to correct the problem. The invasion (it is a invasion) of illegal immigrants from the south has created so many short and long term problems. The Democratic position which leans heavily toward amnesty is highly hypocritical. How can the party of jobs and labor support the inclusion of illegals into our workplace when each and every illegal alien that finds work is taking that job from a potential democratic voter or even worse a union member? You can't be for jobs and put out the welcome mat for illegals. Bush was a wimp on the issue and chose to ignore it (like he ignored so many other things). There's only one common sense answer to this. Secure the borders, tell these people to leave and deny them jobs and services if they're here. We can't afford to continue to support them or to add the burden of 10+ million citizens to our entitlement programs. Not now or later. Fat chance this will happen.
  3. I have to agree. If you're a moderator, you need to take the high road and avoid the threats and personal attacks. AD is often a blowhard on this board and is clearly someone who feel he has to get the last word. A know it all, although he strikes me as an intelligent guy. Not behavior becoming of a moderator IMO. Most mods I see in other places operate more in the background and don't make waves. I don't know what it was you sent to him, but if you violated a policy, he could simply respond with a warning of the violation and keep it to that. If he can't keep it professional, he should resign. On the other hand, he apparantly has the time 24/7 to watch and stick his nose into ever little thing that is written here. Not many people are willing to volunteer so much valuable time to such a trivial cause. You have to respect the commitment.
  4. Hey Frenklestein, how about answering the question? Please define "people that require charity".
  5. You beat me to the punch. Hysterical.
  6. That's very good to know.
  7. We now have representation without income taxation for much of the population.
  8. Define "people requiring charity" please.
  9. Palin isn't Presidential material, but her guiding principles are great. She's got nothing ot lose by calling out the libs and yes, she drives them crazy.
  10. Went last year and it was worthwhile. Some local politicians were there and spoke freely with many of us. Would like to go tomorrow, but have other commitments in the afternoon.
  11. \ I guess this means we have to blame the incompetence of many Federal agencies on the majority of white workers that are employed.
  12. There is nothing selfish about the principles of self sufficiency and personal responsibility. There is also nothing selfish about people keeping the fruits of their labor or the equal opportunity to succeed or to fail.
  13. Silver's a bit high right now IMO.
  14. One thing's for sure, we need a larger selection of lefties here. The current crop here continually supports that the liberal left are out of their mind in a "I need professional help" kind of way. Somewhere there must be some liberals that are capable of making a reasonable defense of their ideology and engaging in sound debate of their position.
  15. So what exactly is it about the Tea Party's agenda for fiscal responsibility that bothers you and do you not see the need for Federal and State governments to cut spending? I'm giving you a chance here to make a reasonable response to a reasonable question.
  16. Why is it that your friends on the left can't simply show up and debate the issues instead of a plan to sabotage an event?
  17. Your number 1 might be correct in your public sector existence. That hasn't been my experience. Certainly we have lazy folks in our country, but I find the producers to be hard working.
  18. I think you'd find that many of the people who are in the upper tax brackets are concerned more about how the money they pay in taxes is being spent and that deficit spending threatens them with even higher rates of taxation. If you do a little research, you'll find that tax decreases on upper wage earners have been followed by higher tax revenues for the government, so history says that your party will have more money to fund all the "special" programs if they don't raise taxes on the rich.
  19. 1. Work your ass off and save as much as you can. 2. Get debt free. 3. Figure out how to be happy on less money. 4. Invest wisely which usually means leaning heavily on outside advice.
  20. I think free cars and free car insurance are coming first. http://www.russellsage.org/publications/wo...20Gaps/document
  21. I wonder who Native Americans thought were the terrorists? When it comes to terrorism, it's better to give than to receive.
  22. And they'll create 500,000 new Federal jobs for the purpose of collecting and policing the tax.
  23. He's too old now but Lee Iococca comes to mind. I'd put some other names here but you wouldn't recognize them.
  24. Agree. He's very intelligent, understands how Washington doesn't work but he's got baggage. He's #1 on my list of those that to this point have even been mentioned. I'd prefer to get a sharp and tough leader with a business background for once. We need somebody that has successfully navigated through choppy waters. Somebody who will make tough principled decisions.
