The US government considers middle eastern folks as whites in the census. So Trump is being unfair to members of the white race?
-
You are correct, culture change is slow and will move in the direction of long term behavior. If we take race out of the equation and simply measure education, effort, family structure and behavior - we will find a strong correlation between outcomes and those factors. People of all colors usually fail when they underperform in those areas.
-
When this is done, we're going to learn that several others both inside and outside of the country were involved and that law enforcement could have prevented this and were tipped off in advance that this was in the works.
-
I wouldn't call it mindless. If I have to choose between the current policy of taking in 10's of thousands of refugees and other immigrants from the middle east with little or no info on these people or Trump's position of not letting any in until our elected leaders figure out what the hell is going on (in his words) then I'll take Trump's position over Obama's. Neither would be my absolute approach, but staying the course that Obama has presented is a poor choice. Our first priority has to be for the citizens here.

Not a single vote has been cast. While he's getting the headlines, other candidates are working the local areas in early primary states.

Once again Trump takes on a tough issue but misses the mark. You can make a great case now for making our borders much more secure and for greatly reducing immigration until we can better evaluate who is coming here and why and for how long. He had a great opportunity to communicate this but instead launched another scud missile. It really won't matter unless Trump gets the nomination which is unlikely IMO. 10 months from now voters won't care about Trumpism's from a year before.

Couldn't hear Obama tonight...hilarious.

I actually fell asleep on the couch about 10 minutes into his remarks. Out like a light, only to wake up after it was over and wonder what I missed. My wife filled me in with a short 1 sentence answer. -
Is there anyone out there that believed Obama last night when he said - We will destroy ISIL and anyone that try's to attack us? Anyone?

Some good points. Hockey helmets have a long way to go IMO. One of my sons played HS football through junior year and skipped senior year to focus on track training. He'll run in college. He was a RB and fortunately to the best our knowledge never had a concussion in 10 years of football. We bought him an SG brand helmet (Simpson auto racing helmet company) which is lighter by half than most football helmets and performed very well in studies. It was not cheap. The school provided helmets but we learned that they purchased 10% new helmets each year meaning the oldest helmets being used are 9 years old. The older helmets don't perform nearly as well as the more recent stuff. We feel pretty lucky that his worst ever football injury was a strained neck but he took a lot of hits.

So you've never heard the radio interview that Obama gave in about 2003 where he goes on for minutes about how the civil rights movement fell short of providing economic justice for African Americans and how that should still be resolved? Have you read his book "Dreams" and the many racial remarks he makes? You're not aware that Obama has directed the justice department to pursue cases for victims of color and not pursue cases of the opposite nature? Obama is obsessed with race IMO.

Trump reports his net worth well above $4 billion. Now if Trump were a liberal, he'd be lauded as a person who created more jobs, tax revenue and economic impact than your typical billionaire investor.

Not for me, no. A person's experience is far more valuable than education so as time and experience build, education becomes of much less importance. I also put much greater value on private sector experience over political experience,

Yeah, that one may be the best example of all time.

Joe Biden recognized Obama's qualifications through the prism of race.

Obama, the chief gun control advocate doesn't clearly say what he wants to change. He bitches and moans whenever there is a "crisis". He's the friggin President of the United States. He could stand in front of the camera and present very clearly what changes he wants to make to gun laws and why. He could then go to the House and Senate and ask to be heard and get something started. He's not interested in solving the problem because it's to his party's advantage to keep the issue on the burner. That or he is the worst manager and leader of all time. So for LA Grant, who's dogging you? Posters here or those who hold elected positions and are in a position to get something done? Given your passion for the subject and the amount of time you have spent reading and posting here, wouldn't that time and energy be better directed to those elected folks that you support and who also represent you? -
What would you suggest given her body type to be a more flattering and more appealing style of dress? Burlap is not an accepted answer.

I'm finding Obama's past to be less and less interesting as time goes on. We actually have 7 years of on the job performance from which to judge him. His past prior to being president looks like the high water mark for him.

Trump will not get the nomination. The party will pressure the laggards to get out of the race when votes are actually being cast and when that happens, Trump will fade.

Well, you're like many liberals. You can't win the argument on merit so you simply attack the other side, In your defense, you've got a weak hand to play on this and any number of liberal positions. If you can't present the facts, the math on this subject or any other, it's probably best to fold. -

As I pointed out several pages ago, Chicago had a ban on handguns until 2010. Data before and after 2010 shows no impact on murders up or down. I'm not against reasonable discussion or efforts to make guns and gun use safer. At least in this one big city where controls are still tighter than other areas, restricting guns (or not restricting them) has not had an impact on gun crime. -
