  1. We all know why Donald hasn't released tax returns. The left simply wants them because he is in a business (real estate) which is tax advantaged through the application of capital gains tax, depreciation and 1031 exchanges. His tax returns probably reveal that his effective federal tax rate is similar to what Romney's was and the left will make this a big story that Donald Trump uses loopholes and pays less tax than a secretary which is of course B.S. That he's an evil rich guy even though he has been audited continuously and that his taxes are most likely done to the letter of the law. The fact that Trump is on record saying that he and other wealthy people should pay more in tax and that he has donated $ millions to charity (of his own money or raised on his show) won't be aired. The media will mostly fall in line with the left and promote the story of evil. That and there is still time for Harry Reid to stand up and say that Trump doesn't pay his taxes and cheats the system. I'm sure you remember the Reid bit and how widely what he said was reported and how almost none of the media reported the real story which was that Reid made knowingly ridiculous and false statements about a presidential candidate solely for the benefit of his party. So at the end of the day, Trump probably won't release tax records because the children can't be trusted with them.
  2. That's part of it and there is a significant segment of parents who are willing to pay for their kids to go to the big fancy schools for the education, the "experience" and the bragging rights. The big schools also already admit and give preference and "scholarships" to those that can demonstrate need. The big schools are also competing with each other for the best in facilities, grounds, professors (cough cough) and athletics. The big schools can often boast better recruitment numbers which also drives demand. What's really missing in the Illinois state system are 4 year schools located near the population centers where students can attend and commute and do it for a lot less and also work part-time. The community college system should expand to 4 year programs IMO which would make a bachelors degree far more affordable and available in this state. We have Rasmussen College in the midwest which offers 4 year degrees (some classes online) for about $8K per year in tuition and in areas within an easy commute for many but I don't hear much about this school from people in the area. Personally I think every family and teenager that works should be able to deduct all education expenses and education savings from their federal and state taxes along with health care savings and costs. Better incentives will drive better behavior.
  3. Would the government attempt to negotiate a price with the colleges and might the colleges choose to not accept any or only a few of the "free" students due to the low re-imbursements and could that lead to higher college costs for those students that pay their own way? Would we allow people who get taxpayer paid college education to quit after 2-3 years if they don't like it or don't want to do the work required to graduate?
  4. Hillary's lies have been easier to see as she has been a public figure, lying in public with the evidence of such in plain sight and she covers those lies with more lies. Donald hasn't had as much public opportunity or close public scrutiny - yet.
  5. Still a gifted speaker.
  6. Actually I think that if women spend enough time in gender neutral bathrooms with men it won't be long before thy demand ladies only bathrooms. The language, the comments, the farts, the pee on the seats and floors, the stench and the overall condition of the bathrooms. It'll be fun to watch.
  7. I like it. Anything that will ensure that Sanders supporters are in the room, fired up and ready to boo is OK with me. That is if the Sanders supporters are permitted to be there at all.
  8. Obama is consistent in that he appointed people who are willing to lie continuously in support of "the cause", whatever the cause of the day happens to be.
  9. Is there a bigger blowhard in Washington than Kerry?
  10. We aren't going to hear about national security, debt, entitlements, a growing economy or any rational talk about illegal immigration. Dems are now strictly the party of racism, minimum wage, climate change, the evil 1%, wallstreet and corporations. Oh, I forgot "free stuff". It's quite a patchwork quilt of support. Yes, in a Charlie Sheen kinda way.
  11. I thought the horrible performance by Paul Simon of Bridge Over Troubled Water was perfect for the convention. An old far left has-been who's very divided from his lead singer performing poorly. I guess he and Garfunkel couldn't get together in a sign of unity for even a few hours.
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if some networks pipe in more cheering noise to overcome the boos.
  13. We could get through the entire DNC event without anyone talking objectively about debt, entitlements, illegal immigration, growing the economy and national security.
  14. As you point out he said that very well.
  15. Yeah but the Democrat party is unified unlike Republicans, correct? Reminds me of this.
  16. She's shameless. She has lied with the best of them staring straight into the camera for years and even after this latest revelation she still gets up in public and attacks the other side. The voters in her district will probably re-elect her so there really isn't any downside. Carry on Deb.
  17. Does anyone really believe that the Russians are behind this hack in order to impact our election? I thinks it's laughable spin by the left to try and save face during this time of embarrassment.
  18. The entire left and even the media are saying this. Got to give them credit, they get the spin machine totally synchronized within hours of a problem.
  19. Is there a more miserable human being than her anywhere in politics?
  20. Kemp would have been a good President IMO and we could use more of his thinking in Washington right now.
  21. Unfortunately I have worked with some very dishonest people over the years and they are without question the most untrusting, suspicious and paranoid people you will meet. Hillary is much like them.
  22. Yes, some empty words are coming but only because it's too !@#$ing hot to play golf this afternoon.
