  1. What? Are you suggesting that here in this country and at this time that the screening process of voter registration includes turning over illegal immigrants that attempt to register to vote and then prosecuting and deporting them?    It has literally never happened and our own DOJ has threatened to sue states that pursue cleansing of illegal voter registration. Your government is literally protecting those that register improperly. From the article below. Yet no U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) appears to have initiated any effort to prosecute aliens for voting. Nor has the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) initiated the deportation of aliens who have registered or voted illegally, which it can do independently of a prosecution by the USAO or state prosecutors. and In Florida, state officials developed a preliminary list of about 180,000, later refined to 2,700 apparent registration discrepancies, which was sent to local electoral officials for further review and inquiry. It also was refused assistance from DHS. When the federal Department of Justice (DOJ) threatened suit, many counties declined to take action on the questioned names; but some counties pressed forward, resulting in identification of nearly 100 noncitizens according to media reports. DOJ's lawsuit was dismissed in a federal district court, prompting DHS to agree to provide access to SAVE records. Despite the dismissal, DOJ has issued subpoenas for the records of those counties that were not deterred by the legal action. http://cis.org/non-citizen-voters-diluting-the-rights-and-privileges-of-citizenship
  2. It doesn't take much talent to respond in that fashion. There's plenty of underlying data from studies and other sources showing that illegal immigrants are voting in increasing numbers and even being encouraged to do so. Integrity at the ballot box should be a bi-partisan goal.
  3. Well this just tees up the whole Chip Kelly is a racist thing if he's cut. From the article linked below. An academic report published in the December 2014 issue of Electoral Studies found more than 14 percent of non-citizens in 2008 and 2010 samples reported being registered to vote. “Our best guess, based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, is that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010,” reported David Earnest and Jesse Richman, political science professors at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. http://watchdog.org/260524/illegal-immigrants-2016-election/
  4. I'm quite sure without looking at the numbers that total U. S. government spending is rising yearly at a higher rate than GDP. Even going back a few decades and looking at it yearly I doubt there will be many single year exceptions to this but I am going to look. Since when is the spending to GDP ratio terribly important? More fiscally conservative folks are concerned with the mounting debt caused by the expansion of government because the interest on the debt is a rising expense and the debt itself a ticking time bomb should interest rates in the future rise to more historical norms. People spend little time thinking about that as the sun rises and sets every day and we pay the interest with more debt. I doubt any economist can make a good argument that this isn't a significant future risk. We need policies that promote private sector economic growth which in turn should increase tax receipts to the government while growing government spending at a slower rate.
  5. Yes, a very partisan group of 3 judges made that decision. Unfortunately politics have infiltrated every inch of government. We have a lot of illegal immigrants registering to vote because it is so easy to do so with driver's licenses and taxpayer ID numbers being readily issued to illegal immigrants. No proof of citizenship is required/confirmed in many states. Everyone should support voter ID, better registration screening and integrity at the polls.
  6. This would be a great thread even without the article.
  7. No, just pointing out that crime rates in cities are under-reported and that many criminals are given a pass.
  8. I'll share 3 experiences from the city of Chicago... My car got badly sideswiped while parked in the city just as I was about to get in. I did then jump in and chase the sonofabitch a couple miles and pulled him over. The police were called from the scene and also the 2nd scene where he briefly stopped but refused to stay. He took off again but I had name and license plate number. Police came to original scene, I filed report and asked that hit and run charges be filed. Chicago refused to pursue it, it never became a case, they told me that they don't have time. $9K in damage. My daughter's wallet was stolen recently while riding train in the city. She reported it a couple hours later, police blew her off. She contacted a store where her CC was used and manager looked at video tape with a clear view of the person. She called the police with this info and they said, sorry, can't help you, bigger fish to fry. While in downtown Chicago and parked, friends car was broken into, briefcase taken with ipad. Called police who wouldn't even send an officer out to the scene. Friend did a locate on the ipad and located ipad a couple hours later in a "very bad neighborhood". Called police who told friend they would not pursue and instructed friend not to try and recover the ipad themselves. 1st 2 instances above were committed by minorities and very likely the 3rd given location of stolen property. Point is that crimes like these in big cities are most likely under-reported in statistics and minorities are probably involved in crimes in big cities more than what reported data shows.
  9. Agree. CK would have come off a bit more credible had he included any facts in his presentation.
  10. I'm still waiting for the evidence that police are unjustifiably killing minorities. Not saying it doesn't ever happen but has there been a case of this since the big uproar of a year or two ago?
  11. I'm familiar with the cases and the ridiculous arguments used that having an ID or tightening the window or procedure for early and absentee voting hurts minorities. For **** sakes you have to have ID to get a fishing license in most states. Where's the outrage there? If we don't have proof of citizenship and photo ID in the registration and voting process, we don't have integrity in the vote. Everyone can and should get an ID.
  12. Yes but they aren't named Bernie, Ted, John or Marco.
  13. Yes, not safe as in a "safe space". Another article written about race solely for the sake of writing about race.
  14. You have to define equal. Equal as in equal rights, equal in capability, thoughts, anatomy?
  15. Consumer confidence has to be a big driver of demand. Flat wages suppresses consumer confidence. I'll add that totally uninspiring political leadership also suppresses consumer confidence. More regulation and business expenses (taxes, health insurance, compliance) reduces business development, employment and wages.
  16. Which nations are practicing fiscal austerity?
  17. Oh please. What's being done to make it more difficult for minorities to vote? So if I, a white person point out the epic failure that is the Obama presidency (which is quite easy to do) it's based on hatred due to his race? Most of the population is really sick and tired of the faux racism charges, so much so that when real racism occurs many no longer pay attention. For those that haven't visited the BLM website, take a look at their stated causes. Socialist segregationists. A total failure to acknowledge the issues that limit people's social and economic mobility.
  18. He's a dumb jock and is likely clueless on most matters. However, if you're going to call out your country with such serious accusations, back it up. Show us the facts Colin.
  19. "At the same time, I spoke with a prominent Clinton insider, a person of integrity and high ethical standards. He said shutting the Clinton Foundation would hurt millions of people around the world and would be giving in to right-wing critics who will find something else to seize on." Why not have the foundation write checks to all those groups in need? Empty the bank account. That should help these needy groups far more than the slow drip of money that trickles from the foundation now. The Clintons can call it a charitable stimulus.
  20. Most of us will be dead by the time the Millenials figure out what a bag of **** we have left them.
  21. Oh that's an improvement. Our Navy was being ignored by Iran until we cut the nuke deal with them.
  22. Tell you what would be a breath of fresh air. Any liberal that can see Obama's presidency for what it is, awful, and then have the courage to say so. Any liberal that can see Hillary's candidacy for what it is as well, mostly the same and have the courage to say so. Many republicans didn't like Bush as his term wound down and he got plenty of criticism from those who had been supporters. Many republicans don't like Trump and aren't afraid to say so. The left are a bunch of lemming clueless cowardly pussies.
  23. All industries have a culture and those cultures don't change much over time. The media culture is one of bias.
  24. Typical liberal, attack the other side and never support why the position of the left is good. On nearly every one of your topics above, the liberal position cannot be supported with facts or even strong opinion. The position and performance of Obama on every one of your bullets is absolutely embarrassing. Faced with facts, virtually every American that can think would come to that conclusion if educated on the topics. Even you. Hillary has said little to distance herself from his approach. Republicans in Washington certainly have a lot of room for improvement, but at least they are mostly on the right side of the math for most of your points.
