  1. Back in the 1970's the population within the City was still over 450,000 putting Buffalo as the 28th largest city in America. The metro population of Buffalo is still over 1.1 million today and that is not taking into account S. Ontario and Rochester
  2. Summary for those who missed it.... to the best of my typing abilities Rome asked if it was a 4-12 year that felt like a 4-12 year or was it something more than that – KW said it was what it was, a 4-12 year… terrible start and never recovered Talking about Nick Barnett, said the guy can really move, really fly around. Sideline to sideline, back in coverage, guy can just run. Buf is similar to GB – it gets a bad rap from guys who want the clubbing nightlife lifestyle, but he has a family and it’s a great place to live, great place to raise a family, said if you’re really craving the big city nightlife Toronto is only 1.5 hours away About playing in Toronto – said it’s ok, just not late in the season. Hated the fact they played the Dolphins in Toronto a few years back in the dome while it was a blizzard in orchard park… wanted to play in the snow On Merriman – Great presence on the field, the two of them feed off eachother and they should be able to get in the backfield this year working together Talking about not being well known – he said its all about respect within the game, doesn’t need the media hype to make him feel good about himself, whenever he starts to get too high, his kids knock him down a peg On being ready for the first preseason game – you’re never ready, you can run and lift all you want, but until it goes live, you’re never ready On Dareus – Doesn’t like guys who talk, he wants guys who show him. Said Marcel is a jovial personality, but he puts the work in and has earned his respect On Fitzpatrick – said Fitz lets everyone know he went to Harvard…. Works it into conversations all the time, but he isn’t what you think of when you think of a “Harvard Guy”…. He has a nappy scraggly beard, tells dirty jokes, just a normal guy. That was pretty much it, a good listen, just glad that guy is on our team
  3. and that message would be to stay in school and don't drink during a pregnancy?
  4. Just wanted to give a heads up about KW being on with Jim Rome..... i'll post a summary as long as I don't get pulled away from my desk.
  5. I think maybin covets the cut beach body physique vs. Productive NFL body. No way someone with 2 years of world class trainers, nutritionists, and training facilities cant add weight regardless of metabolism.
  6. Troup was bad last year. He played with terrible leverage and didn't have the necessary core strength to hold it down against NFL centers and guards. They say the biggest leaps occur between year one and two, and this is that time frame. Hopefully the reports on him adding strength & bulk will combine with what he learned in the trenches last year. I'm waiting to see a bit of a sample from this year before I label him anything.
  7. 5 Wide Work all Day Cares not about syllables Brain fried bye Whitner
  8. Look like Jane Play like Jane Talk Like Tarzan
  9. Well lets just hope the new beef in the front 7 will let Wilson play to his strengths and not be one on one with a RB like our defensive backs were so often last year.
  10. I'm sorry, but I can believe that Maybin has a very quick metabolism. What I can't believe is that with access to world class nutritionists, trainers, training facilities, and all the perfect foods and supplements, he still cannot add to his frame. I just wonder if it has more to do with the fact he wants that 2% body fat, fitness magazine cover type of physique he can show off on South Beach vs. being a real NFL linebacker....
  11. "I just want to thank the good people of Toronto for making this donation possible"
  12. Whitner isn't really so much different than all of us on this board, we also have a desire to win and none of us can cover an NFL tight end either.
  13. I agree... i've always like Davis too. He is a stout player at the point of attack who is very good against the run. I don't know why people want to bury him so quickly...
  14. It just means they are going to be well prepared for the regular season...
  15. Optimist in me: Ocho is washed up, aging, and injury prone Realist: He still has a little left in the tank, realizes this is his chance to regain some of his former luster, and has Tom Brady hitting him in stride in ways Palmer and Company couldn't do in Cinci. Not saying he is going to be a stud, but he is going to be motivated, have a great QB throwing his direction, and be on a very good team.
  16. I would drive Poz to Jacksonville myself... that's not the issue. The issue is Nix is basically saying they are just going to promote from within.
  17. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/42020/mike-brown-carson-palmer-is-retired Posturing? Seems like an ugly situation in Cincinnati.
  18. I was just hoping this thread was about me
  19. But he played many games at RG and did quite a serviceable job. Through camp, preseason all reports were that he was doing very well at RT. Not saying he was a dominant player, but he was around long enough for people to develop and opinion about him.
  20. I liked Butler at RT. Although he did deal with a lot of injuries, he always held his own and played the position pretty well. He was a solid starter.
  21. I am just hoping that whatever is best for the Bills is what happens. As far as the our front 7 could leave him unblocked with a free shot at the QB idea, wouldn't just about anyone be an all pro if they had a clean look at the QB on a consistent basis?
  22. Nice article indeed..... and Easley looks like a beast when lined up with the others in that photo in the article....
  23. I think a major problem is the peer pressure as well. There has got to be guys who are making 400 - 500k who try to run with the guy making 8 Million. That has to be a strange dynamic and I can see why some athletes would get disgruntled about their contracts. Look at the production from Stevie Johnson and the production from Lee Evans. It would be like one of us doing better work than the guy in the next cube, but you know that guy makes 10x more money than you and you both do the same job....
  24. Yes. Maybin is a great athlete, he just doesn't have the instincts or football iq to sniff the field.
  25. My point wasn't that Jasper isn't freakish athletically, it's that it's the measurables that have everyone excited, not actual football ability (like Larsen). We have a first round bust from last year that is also a freak athlete who can't play football. I'm not trying to take the wet blanket approach, I love the idea of Jasper being a beast in the middle for years. As soon as he blows a few guys up in training camp I will have both feet on the bandwagon, instead of just the one I do now.
