Chase Claypool- I know you want to talk about him
H2o replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
QB play did hinder him a lot at times. Brandon Wimbush was trash and Ian Book, though way better than Wimbush, was wildly inconsistent at times throwing the football or reading a defense. He had a problem with drops his Sophomore year, but not since. He has stayed healthy throughout his college career outside of a couple dings here or there which did not cost him any games. His numbers have progressively gotten better every season. He runs a solid route tree for a guy his size and can shake a DB just fine. This class is so deep at WR, and because of his size combined with his athletic ability, people have had him pegged all over the place while even talking of a position switch to TE. He's definitely a WR and will be a good, if not great, one in the NFL. -

Been banging the table for Claypool for months now. Have said basically the same things time and time again. Called him Mike Evans 2.0 since that time as well. There are 3 guys I want from this draft. Chase Claypool, Kenny Willekes, and AJ Dillon. If I have to pick one it's Claypool well beyond the rest. I'm good with him @ #22. I truly believe he would be a perfect fit for this team and Josh Allen. -
Look at Dillon who checked in at 247lbs.

Excellent hands, excellent body control, is a good blocker in the run game, runs a solid route tree for a guy his size, and adjusts well to the ball in the air. All that said, I highly doubt he lasts until our 2nd Round pick after his combine. We would have to take him in the 1st. -

Chase Claypool. 6'4-1/4", 238lbs, 4.42 40, 40.5" vertical, 80"+ wingspan, 10'6" broad jump, and got better every year in college. ***bangs the table*** -
Yeah, but he was really their only downfield target so defenses keyed on him. Fink is a poor man's Beasley. They had a trick-play guy in Lenzy and a good TE in Kmet.

My boy Claypool is killing it right now. A 4.42 40 @ 238lblbs, a 40.5" vertical, and a 10'6" broad jump.

In a perfect world we could get Ruggs and Claypool. Sigh.......
-
So now we need fire

Yes, Book was light years ahead of Wimbush, but still very erratic. It drove me nuts.
-
He's also a better route runner than he's been given credit for. His QB's were Brandon Wimbush and Ian Book which meant A LOT of adjustments for the ball or just being outright missed while open.
-
I think this has to put him in the conversation.

Interviewed at the Senior Bowl and the Combine. Hopefully where there's smoke....

Kid is a monster and this at 238lbs, not at 200lbs or 205lbs.

I've been telling you guys he's Mike Evans II If that's his official time It's faster than Evans was.

Class of 2021 - TreVeyon Henderson - Committed to Ohio St.

Yeah, he's a special young man. I think his mind is pretty set on RB at this time. I'm certain he will also get plenty of run on KR/PR as well. -

It's crazy. In January Nick Saban was the first coach to come to town, then Jim Harbaugh, then Dabo Swinney. It's been quite the parade of big time college coaches coming through this little city. -

I posted this thread in December after Hopewell won the state title. TreVeyon is now ranked as the #1 RB in the nation by ESPN. https://www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/hopewell-running-back-treveyon-henderson-ranked-1-in-the-nation -
Looking at the Bills schedule based off defensive rankings
H2o replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is true as it stands, but the teams we face with middle of the road or lower tier defenses have better offenses when compared to the teams we faced this past season. -

My first football memory is that of watching the Raiders beat the Redskins in SB XVIII with my grandfather. I was 7. I liked the Raiders after that point. In 1989 they started showing the Bills on TV more around my area. I loved the uniforms and many of the players on the team quickly after watching them a few times. I learned a bit more about the team. I found out Bruce Smith was from VA and played at VT. That was it for me then. I switched teams at 12 and have been a Bills fan ever since.
