  1. My favorites, off the top of my head - most already named: --Blades of Steel --Baseball Stars --Duck Hunt with the infrared gun and the damn laughing dog --Contra --Paperboy --Tag Team Wrestling --Ten-Yard-Fight --Tecmo Bowl --Ice Hockey --Contra --Rampage --Double Dribble --Mike Tyson's Punch-Out - the first video game I bought on my own, saved up from my paper route money. Got it at the old Brand Names catalog showroom in Niagara Falls. --CastleVania --and another vote for ExciteBike.
  2. Maybe we could see some sort of balance between lower salaries and less guaranteed money for bigger incentives and one year earlier at FA?
  3. Good catch, I missed that when I skimmed the article earlier. I don't know that they've done anything in this whole process that shows any regard for their reputation or image.
  4. He spent most of the year (70 games) here in Cleveland with the Lake Erie Monsters, but I don't think he was promoted to Colorado at all this year.
  5. Which goals in Game 6 did he have no chance on? The first one Kessel undresses the Bruins D and then beats Price cleanly from the faceoff circle; Sobotka stickhandled pretty much through the crease and Price just watched him on the second; the third goal was a deflection, which is tough to pin on the goalie; I have no idea what he was doing on the 4th (Kessel's second) goal; the fifth goal was completely on Price, since he left a huge rebound right in front and then got faked to the ice by Sturm. So one, maybe two goals weren't completely on him. Still gave up four goals in the third period in the third. And after Game 6 his coach agrees that Price didn't play well: He had allowed a total of five goals in the first four games, three of which were decided by one goal. Then he lost his touch and gave up four goals in the third period of the next two games - Boston's 5-1 win in Montreal and Saturday's victory. "Our best player has to be our best player," Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau said when asked about Price's problems. I'm not saying he has been awful, not by any stretch. He had two bad games late in the series but rebounded with a solid effort in Game 7. But we've seen a lot of goalies get hot in the playoffs and not follow it up for a full season afterwards.
  6. Price has been exactly what a much-hyped rookie should be - he has been very good in some games, solid in others, and has looked bad in some. He had back-to-back clunkers in the Boston series (Games 5 & 6) leading his coach to make the comment about how their best player has to play like he's the best player. His regular-season numbers weren't earth-shattering (2.56, .920 over 41 games) so it will be interesting to see if he is truly a franchise goalie that will continue to get better or if he is having success because teams haven't seen a lot of him.
  7. I'd be surprised if we hear anything other than "we met with Mr. Walsh and reviewed the materials and found no new evidence, so we consider this matter closed" from Goodell and the rest of Kraft's cronies.
  8. 1. Cleveland Jr was a waste of airtime. Hopefully they killed him off like the vaudeville performers. 2. See above. Didn't add anything to the plots or shows. 3. The Griffins used Carol's (Lois' sister) Texas home in last season's "Boys Do Cry" (which featured a cameo by Chuck Norris and the infamous fist behind the beard) so she's still around, just not actually appearing in any episodes. 4. I think it was the Y2K episode when the chicken gives Peter an expired coupon.
  9. Exactly. I don't use it enough to justify going with the unlimited text messaging option, but I use it enough to know that it can be invaluable tool, especially when traveling, when I can't be interrupted by a full call or want to avoid a long conversation if possible.
  10. I thought that was Denise Milani but wasn't sure... Here you go...
  11. I don't care how misinformed Tone's post was - he gets a lot of leeway in my book, just based on his avatar.
  12. That was a battle of classless punks...that attack by Hordichuk is pretty much par for the course for the Nashville thugs...
  13. There is this one of Royals OF Joey Gathright doing it... I know the video isn't completely impressive and some of the comments claim to hear a "spring" noise like from a trampoline, but I remember these stories following him when he came up through the D-Rays' system and some of the players (including a couple I trust) swore they saw him do this, so I don't know what to think...
  14. A goalie is allowed to play with a broken stick, so I would bet the first time a goalie broke his stick on purpose and then tried to leave it in the crease, it would be scooped up by the trailing ref and the NHL would likely hand down a clarifying ruling the next day to prevent that from happening again.
  15. Yes, it was. The NHL has already ruled on Avery's "actions" from last night's game, so from now on it will be an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to do that: LINK National Hockey League Senior Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell today issued the following advisory on the interpretation of Rule 75 - Unsportsmanlike Conduct: "An unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty (Rule 75) will be interpreted and applied, effective immediately, to a situation when an offensive player positions himself facing the opposition goaltender and engages in actions such as waving his arms or stick in front of the goaltender's face, for the purpose of improperly interfering with and/or distracting the goaltender as opposed to positioning himself to try to make a play." >> league release
  16. Shoot, we can bring him and Vick in together. Then just sit back and let the good times roll!
  17. How long before Upshaw threatens to break Stover's "damn neck?"
  18. Agree 100%. I never made it to Panama city or Pensacola but really loved Destin's emerald waters and white beaches. St. George wasn't bad, and it was nice to get to a beach pretty quickly from Tally.
  19. I was actually referring to the possibility of a 4th Major League film coming out, but I guess my post works with Guttenberg as well. According to his IMDB profile, Steve had done a bang-up job picking roles: Turned down the role of Josh in Big (1988), a role that eventually went to Tom Hanks. Turned down the role of Dr. Peter Venkman in Ghost Busters (1984) in favor of playing Carey Mahoney in Police Academy (1984). I don't see a lot of quality stuff in his resume...maybe the 3 Men and a Baby/Little Lady were the other notable parts...
