I wish Marv had done this last year
todd replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would have been great and everything, but clements was a unrestricted free agent with a franchise tag. That's a very different situation that someone with a year left on their rookie contract, who didn't really prove himself the way clements did. -
I can't explain it. He's a wanker.

Claton's Info on Dillon Dillon, who asked for and received his release from the New England Patriots last week, will visit the Buffalo Bills Thursday with hopes of landing a job. The running back has been in conversations with several teams during the last week. Buffalo is his first visit. After finding out he would get only eight to 10 carries a game with the Patriots, Dillon wanted to be released and the team granted his request. His agents have since made contact with the Jets and Eagles along with other teams, but the Bills are the first team to show viable interest. McGahee update: Talks between the Bills and Ravens continue to heat up for Buffalo halfback Willis McGahee. McGahee, who is entering the final year of his contract and wants out, has been on the trading block for the past few weeks and the Bills are trying their best to move him. Over the past two days, the Bills had visits from Dominic Rhodes and Chris Brown and they are going to look at Dillon on Thursday. If the Ravens are going to make a trade for McGahee, they will likely get it done soon.

Yes, there's really no reason to sign a RFA to an offer sheet unless you do something to make it difficult to match. The numbers don't mean much until you look at the first three years of the contract. That's the legitimate part of it.

Bills sign OG Derrick Dockery, 7 years $49M

Kelsay's yearly salary is on the NFLPA site now...
todd replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To your point, I wouldn't call the contract backloaded, but the salary is. Jumping from 1 mil to 3.7 by the 4th seems backloaded to me. It seems backloaded for a solid player, not a star. -

todd replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate to say I told you so, but I've posted that his base salary was probably backloaded like this in response to all the chicken little farts around here. I'm glad that sometimes cooler heads prevail and people don't jump out windows. -
Have you seen the contract? Do you know how it is structured? Do you know what his exact salary is for each year? Do you know how much money was a signing bonus, which counts to this year's "cash to cap"? Do you know how much of that bonuses are roster bonuses, which count to other year's cash to cap? I doubt it. I suggest you learn those things before you say he's paid too much money. Hell, his salary in 4 years might be 12 million, making the total value of the contract bigger than the 6mil per year figure thrown around. Before you decide you don't believe the numbers, you might want to understand the numbers first.

Decided against renewing the season tickets today
todd replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My list was clearly off the top of my head, and not 13 years worth of players resigned. I think it would be useless for me to go back and find all of them to disprove your opinion, which is obviously completely based on stupidity. If you are so intent on "proving" that we don't resign players, why don't you go and prove it? Maybe because you can't? -

That would be a valid point if it wasn't complete bullcrap. Developed Reed - kept him. Developed Peters - kept him. Developed Crowell - kept him. Got a good kicker in Lindell - keeping him. Got a great Punter in Moorman - keeping him. Develop Kelsay - keeping him. If you call last year's improvement spinning wheels, well, I guess I don't know what to say. Edit - Oh yeah - and how could I forget Schoebel? Yeah, we developed him and signed him as well. -
I don't think we should B word about this until we know the specifics of the contract. Guaranteed money is a very vague term, and could mean a roster bonuses, incentives, AND the signing bonus. When people start saying $6 mil per year, they have no idea what that means. Hell, the 4th year of his contract could have a base salary of 10 million. That would make the contract essentially a 3-year contract at a reasonable price.

The "Presser" reveals the real reason TD is no longer GM!
todd replied to DeLuca1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been reading this kind of idiotic garbage long enough without responding. Do you know what crusading is? All I care about is results, and Donahoe didn't get them. Mularkey didn't cut it. In the first year, Levy and DJ put us on a path that is CLEARLY superior to anything from the Donahoe years. I should qualify "CLEARLY" as being clear to anyone who has a brain. -
No way. It isn't loyalty, it is a man keeping his word. It is honor. I would lose respect for the bills if they go back on their word and honor and tag clements. Lying is wrong, especially like this.

Reed is locked up.

No friggin way. Just because it is a business doesn't mean you can't conduct yourself honorably, and going back on your word is not honorable.

45 yds-slightly inclement conditions

Were you there? Were you at the game? Did you feel the wind? Did you see it swirl? I was. I was there. I saw it. It would have been more likely we could have made a 1st down than made the FG. Let's not be silly here, OK? -
Flu Bug Making Its Way Through The Team
todd replied to Alaska Darin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The flu shot doesn't protect against ANY intestinal virus. Actually, there's no such thing as a stomach flu. Influenza has nothing to do with a virus that makes you puke. There's a stomach virus going around the entire country. I know lots of people who have had it. -
19,000 Titans vs Bills Tickets left

With all due respect, I think you are going a little overboard. I love the Bills. It pains me not to see a game. However, I love my family more than the Bills, and being with my family on Christmas eve is of the utmost importance. I like to think I have my priorities straight, not that I don't care about the Bills. BTW - I was at the Bills game yesterday. -
I know personal attacks aren't cool and everything, but I think in this case I'm justified in concluding that you might have some sort of disability that prevents you from thinking logically. Or admitting you are wrong. Or maybe you are just effing stupid. 3 touchdowns, scrambling and completing some great passes on broken plays, 4th quarter comebacks, an improving QB rating - now top 10 in the NFL, and a top winning record over the 2nd half of the season. And still, you insist on clinging to an opinion that is false. Seek counseling, man.

PFW Whispers on Bills Usually there isn't much there for Buffalo. Tidbits on Clements, Peters and Schoebel. Seems as if the Redskins will be going after Clements. Fine, if he wants to play for a team full of losers and an owner who is a prick, let it be. I don't care how much snyder spends, he'll never do much because he doesn't understand consistency and having a quality organization.

I don't know if many people remember this, but the Houston Comeback game wasn't a sellout. Neither were a few other playoff games - and that was when Buffalo was going to Super Bowls. -
Bills/ Jets Experience - Wore my Spikes Jersey

Sounds to me like you weren't being a good visitor and stooped to the level of the people who were bothering you. Next time maybe take the high road and show some class. -
Except for last week. Logic forced me to write that.
