WE'LL NEVER KNOW, HE HAS SO MUCH UPSIDE, HE HAD SOME GOOD GAMES IN 06, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. lol 4 real, i REALLY want him to be on kc or some such team and play us. aaron (who gets lambasted around here) would be able to get revenge for all the good games our D played while JP just laid eggs out there.

i really think this draft has a chance to shake out awesome for us. if there starts to be a run on the OTs but a couple are left after the first 10, we might get the world beating down our door for Albert, otoh, or clady. if we can get a 15-25 pick and a few extra ones (we can just milk whoever we trade with in this case, like a 2nd and 3rd to exchange 1sts) we can nab a wr, groves, and a cb in the first 2 rounds, then go te and OC/OG there after. 2 day one starters and one big contributer. NOICE

lol cereal dude, i wish the guy on this board were a gm FOR AN OTHER TEAM. they'd trade the whole draft for jp NO DON'T TRADE JP, HE'S ONLY BEEN IN THE LEAGUE 4 YEARS, HE WAS HURT FOR HIS FIRST YEAR. OH POOR JP, HE'S THE GREATEST EVER BUT WAS JERKED AROUND BY OUR BAD BAD BAD TEAM. HE LOST HIS JOB BUT IT WASN'T HIS FAULT. HE'S JUST A ROOKIE, WE DON'T KNOW IF HE'S GOOD YET. HE'LL BE BRETT FAVRE ON ANOTHER TEAM, NOOOOO DON'T TRADE HIM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

just when i think i might have a problem, be too into the whole thing, i see this. you make me feel less shame and, indeed, pride for my fandom. you have enabled (who says that's a bad word) me to really go all out in persuit of my "destructive" hobbies. i salute you sir. -
RIVERS ZERO SACKS WILL HELP OUR PASS RUSH!!! AND DON'T FORGET CORNERS DON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP THE PASS D!!
-
i agree. if we get shep (and are ok with the contract) and a 3rd along w 19 overall i think that is solid. if we end up w thomas at that pick then that's a friggen great day

he polls horribly in florida and ohio. he is popular with the accdemic big city set, and young people on the coasts and usualy blue states. it all comes down to florida and ohio for the presidency. obama cannot beat mccain there. that's my lock pick!
-
i think obama will win the nom. i also think he is virtually unelectable in a national election against mccain. it all comes down to ohio and florida, and obama will get destroyed there. i've got my money on mccain, and i think he'll walk away with it.

crow is a friggen good LB. lito is a better corner than nate, nate is a sick playmaker and great hitter, but lito is a more steady more fundamentally sound guy, who also has pick off and run back ability. lito on moss with donte over the top, moss breaks in for the pass and BOOM -- moss get's lazy and short armed. we would also have 4 guys in our base D that could drop back and cover the top 2 WRs on most any teams for like 4 or 5 seconds. that means sacks and turnovers.

Best WR if we get first draw...
colin replied to UpstateSwagger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he's 6'2" and about 220, but he's very buff and physical. that kind of physical play is what we need IMO. remember how softy price would be open all day when moulds was tearing it up? imagine evans with that kind of space, he'd make it like playing against 6 in the box, since the safties would have to scramble back all the time. -
i'd love this trade more than my own children (hungry little idiots that they are). i would like a 4th as well. with the 17 we can get thomas, then in the second get q groves, then TE, then OG/C etc. our D would be redunk

Kansas City possible trade partner with Buffalo?
colin replied to BEAST MODE BABY!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that would rawk. thomas at 17, and an extra pick to package if our guy is sitting there, or to just load up on guys that fall to us. if we get thomas at 17 and a solid corner falls and we nab him late first that would be a SICK day one. add in TE, OC/OG, and BPA after that, and you have a chest kick worthy draft day! -

jesus, if ncaa stats were the end all and be all then corey moore is way better than bruce smith. they count, but you have to watch how the guys play. i like thomas since he is phsycial, gets off the line like a beast, and is fuggin fast as well. he is the perfect compliment to our O. i really think he has a shot of being the next eric moulds. if you want a tree to go up and come down with passes yes hardy is the man (and i'd take him, just not over thomas), if you want a guy to hit that 8 yard slant our out route and bust a cb down then break it to the house (like moulds did) then it's thomas. speed and the ability to get off the line (can't jam him up like a slow footed guy or a munchink like reed) will put the CB on his heels, then he can use his physical play to go up, get the ball, and make something happen afterwards. i like the corners in the draft, a good trade down +picks/player, and a top lineman if one falls (fat chance) but if we get thomas i won't be mad at it. -
Would drafting Keith Rivers be a much smarter move
colin replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OR he showed that he can step up to a higher level with his determination and work ethic by transfering from juco to MSU. anyone can bust out, and anyone can get hurt, but thomas has MAD TALENT. the reason i like him is how he runs the quick out, slant, and wr screen. he is very fast (nearly evans fast in the 40) and big (6'2" 215). when he gets the medium passes or screens he rips the ball down and punishes the first guy with a strong move or stiff arm. then he breaks out. he just really reminds me of moulds (who would have had 100+ tds if we was around the same time as kelly for his whole career). -
FWIW, Devin Thomas on Rome tomorrow
colin replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i dunno about HOF, but i think thomas is a stud. physical and quick, reminds me of a more polished eric moulds when he was a rook. if thomas is ok-- good out the gate, he will open up evans and our run game for some serious numbers. if evans gets his ~1400 this season and 10TDs you can bet our entire O is better and it strikes fear into corner backs. -
Here's a compelling arguement for us to take a

yeah if harvey is as good as allan, freeney or aaron then he is a great 11th overall pick. if he isn't very good not only is he not worth the 11, he won't even be our #3 DE on our team. thomas has a much better chance of being at least our 2nd wr IMO. also, if thomas is a stud he will provide much more for our team than if harvey is a stud. -
i barely read any mocks but i love the draft. i like to see the analysis and techniques used to rank players. it is very informative.

Before & After getting/losing a marquee CB
colin replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
giants had a barely ok pass rush, added a solid rook corner and madison got healthy result: best pass rush in the nfl and a super bowl win bills had a top 8 pass rush and lose clements result: pass rush falls off, aaron and kelsey combine for as pathetic a number of sacks and strahan and uminura did the last year. conclusion: all players count. corners can play well out the gate but are expensive in FA. corners are important to pass D. anyone who says (as i have read from some people on this board) that corners don't help pass D are simply ignorant, insane, on drugs, or all three. -

they say it is a focus thing. he makes very difficult catches and runs sharp routes. being a juco transfer he reminds me of chad johnson (in play, not attitude). puts it on himself to run hard, precise routes and is a very aggressive physical guy. he has already stepped up from juco to ncaa big 10 ball, so i think he will be willing to put in the hard work he will need to excel in the nfl. he'll drop the odd ball (they all do) but he gets off the line like a monster (biggest hurdle for a rook wr imo) and if we have him really work on slants and quick routes he could be that guy just behind the 8 in the box breaking tackles just like moulds was. his natural physical ability -- speed, quickness, size, strength, body control, and desire and work ethic make him exactly our guy IMO. i used to be all over kelley, but he is either too slow or unhealthy to really be worth a number 11 (heck, even a first rounder really). he and a tight end will add the physical presence we need in our O, but without any loss of speed. he is MILES faster than reed and has size as well. -

thomas = 7 100+ yard games in a season, MSU all time record. thomas lit up big 10 guys. thomas is a faster, better handed, smother running, harder working, more fluid WR. thomas is a total stud. i'd like a trade down and then get him, but if we take him at 11 we have a serious couple of wideouts. -
In retrospect doesnt the Lynch pick seem obvious?
colin replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think thomas is a stud. he only has one solid ncaa season, but if he played next year in school like he did last year, he'd be a top 5 type guy. -
WR James Hardy might not get past KC at #17
colin replied to ans4e64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah, corners don't do much for pass D. that's why every friggen decent FA corner gets bid up to a huge contract, because you understand what every single NFL front office doesn't. YOU ARE INSANE AND POSSIBLY ON DRUGS!!!! -
Not sure if this has been posted already

lol carson palmer overrated, he's sick!! carson might be the best, he's certainly top 5 IMO. i agree that Q groves might be a steal. i'd love us go get him in the second. -
allen is sick. the problem i have is the huge contract and the picks. it's just too much to give up IMO. especially when the viqueens have a bad qb, kinda iffy cb play, and no WRs. they also aren't great at LB either they have the best lines (combo of lines anyway) in the nfl. according to some posters here they just won the super bowl. throw in what may be the best rb i've ever seen play, and clearly they win each game by 3 TDs or more. the idea of building on strength at the expense of a true weakness is foolish -- you need balance. maybe minni can find it, but i doubt it. this also goes to show the value of schoble. he has been an even great pass rushing force, and has been solid against the run. people say he is over paid, but a starting DE in the NFL is expensive.

we have some LBs. we have only one WR. we scored a sickeningly low number of TDs last season. we have powered up our front 7 in a big way, 4 starters and 5 total guys that were either hurt or not on our team last year.
