in 4 years jp was day one starter 3 times has been injured 3 times has lost his job 3 times, to holcomb and a 3rd round raw rookie he had a decent PER in 06, but that was a result of a couple of good games over taking bad games where he was simply asked to be a care taker (and still managed to get sacked or fumbe about once every 6 drop backs). he's just not a good qb. everyone else can see it.

if they are both back there, or have a change up, then that would be the best imo. 3 burners, 2 with awesome names, that's some serious speed and highlights

he's right guys. our wr's make the jags look short and fast. we need a speedster, but had to reach for hardy. chripes, wasn't that rocket from cal still there? even if we needed a fast guy, we wouldn't have reached for hardy as we had a burner there if we wanted him.

qbs make coaches. marvin lewis is crap because his team is all punks and have no self control. oh, he also has CARSON FRIGGEN PALMER!!. could you imagine our team today if we just traded jp loseman for palmer? evans would be a 1800+ 14 td+ super star. it's true that a bad team around a qb brings down his play, but it's also true that a stud at qb does more with less. i like jauron, dunno if he is good enough to all they way or not (but most people here would have told you coughlin and especially gilbride were terrible, that eli sucked, and that they didn't spend enough high picks on the oline) but the bottom line is without at least good and usually great qb play you can't win in the playoffs.

about our D: good point above that it was 18th in points. with all of the guys hurt we had who at the end? mcgee greer (was he hurt) wilson whoever backed up whitner ellison dipizza crow aaron (and he was dinged) tripps kevin williams kelsay (again, dinged a bit) in the last game againt philly. that's just horrible. the following are positions that have been upgraded qb (no longer a rook) TE (fine, FAs) FB HB (no rook + picks) WR returner CB saftey (ko is healthy) 2 starting lbs (poz and mitchel) 2 starting DTs (stroud and mccargo are now starting) back up DT back up DE in some cases we are going from street free agents and 6th round picks to pro bowlers and cagey vets. in terms of points allowed i think we should be top 8 or so.

some of you guys make me laugh! just cuz this guy enrolled at army doesn't mean he absolutely has to storm bunkers all day overseas -- if they guys go pro then he has every damn right to take them up on that if an nfl team will take him on. as far as the initial question starting this thread -- i think that's a good one. if i were the gm it would have absolutely zero impact on my decision. if i thought another player (who i can also get as an undrafted FA) out there was even a little bit better for my team i wouldn't hesistate to cut the army kid. fans buy tickets to see the best team possible, and that's the ethics a gm must follow.

NE had 8 active DBs, a WR they played at DB, and one not active. 10 that's 10 dbs us having 7 isn't that many, and we have 8 D line. ADMIT YOU ARE WRONG AND I AM RIGHT ADMIT IT.

just being out there and catching one td all year will help our goal line o a bunch.

NE won 2 SBs with like 12 dbs on the roster. ZOMG ONLY HAVE TEH LINEMEN, 13 GUARDS OR MORE!!! ZOMG!!!! if we have 7 cbs one can double as a back upsafety. once ne lines up 4 or 5 wide for the first time we'll be very happy we "wasted" picks on guys like corner.

a big azz TE like that and big WR really do throw all kinds of problems at opposing Ds. we were friggen smurfs out there last year, and we had royal who is a physical stud but gets stone hands at just the worst times! if we stack up like that, and put viti in there, we can boom and mash, do the little outlet pass to m'shawn, fullback dive, iso, or throw a go up and get it to one of our trees. hell, trent could keep it and mash it in too. i honestly think we can grind teams down, dominate special teams, bring the pain on D, and win a bunch of games out physicallying teams in the red zone.

you know, even if we don't do any better on O (which is virtually impossible, but even if) we have kick ass special teams and D now. that and a great running back (and physical o line) give us a good shot at just punching guys in the face all day and coming ahead a winner.

college is supposed to be higher education, not universal bullsh1t. all the sub morons going to school to party and "study" garbage like history and gay studies for 12 hours a week for 4 years is a tragic waste of time and money. of course many do this because a degree has become sort of a minimum requirement for many jobs.
