How does the second link explain anything? He's looking for a guy who he thinks can win. Isn't that pretty normal?

Done it.

Luckily for the habitat, it's not a very friendly place.

Missouri looked surprisingly good given their losses and I can see them pulling out their division again, but Zook has to be one of the worst game day coaches on a major team.

I think this one comes down to coaching vs. talent. After a few years of great recruiting, ND is stacked. But despite all the bad press RR gets, I think he's a good coach who is going to turn that franchise into a championship contender given enough time. He's certainly not there yet, and I think ND's talent will end up with the win, but I don't count out RR's ability to pull off an upset. I'm looking forward to seeing what these do against better competition. I spent that whole game in awe of how bad the defenses were. It's like they had no clue what they were doing. Just like a lot of the bad play this week, it can be chalked up to first week rust, but I certainly didn't come away from that game as impressed with those teams as a lot of people seem to be. They will be able to shut me up soon enough though. They both have tough games in the next couple of weeks. What I will say is this: Miami: I had picked Miami to make the biggest jump this season. What I saw last year when I watched them was an incredibly fast and athletic, but VERY young and VERY inept team, especially on defense. Everything I hear about Randy Shannon is good, and I figured that with another year of coaching, they would be ready to compete. What I saw last night, mostly on defense, was the exact same thing i saw last year. State: Every single year, no matter how bad the situation is, I have to listen to their fans talk about how they finally have a QB ready to compete. Every year I laugh at them, and every year I'm right. This year might finally be different. He still needs a lot of improvement, but Ponder actually looks like he could become a damn impressive QB. Boise looked great. Too bad they won't get to show off their talent against anyone that matters all year. GA was supposed to be in a very down year this year losing Stafford, Moreno, and Massaquoi, but I can't believe how bad their defense looked. Again, maybe just rust. Alabama just wore them out. Really good showing by them. Barring any unforeseen events, Bama should be back in the SEC championship game. VT can join the drudge of the muddled ACC. Some more: Minn vs Cuse: Much better showing from SU than I was expecting. Paulus looked like a competent rookie, but the running game did better than expected, and the defensive turnaround was huge. Will probably get knocked around pretty good this week, but I'd expect improvements every week. LSU vs Washington: Holy crap, what a difference a coach makes. Sarkisian made that team like look pretty good against what is supposed to be an LSU team ready to compete again. LSU struggled a bit more than they should have I think, but Jefferson looked good. Missouri vs Ill: Fuggin Zook. Miss vs Memphis: Ol Miss might have been the most over hyped team pre-season?? Maybe not, but Memphis gave them all they could handle for 3 quarters. Snead is going to have to play much better and they better hope Greg Hardy isn't injured for long. He was looking slow as a snail most of the game. Cinci vs Rutgers: Holy crap, Tony Pike looked great and Cinci absolutely destroyed Rutgers. I was literally having a hard time watching the game I was so embarrassed for Rutgers. With a game like that in week 1, it's hard to tell weather one team was great, the other horrible, or what the combination is. Based on 1 game, I'd pick Cinci to run away with the Big East. SC vs NC State: Once again I think that Spurrier is fielding an under performing SC team. Unless there's a big turnaround, I think this may be his last year before he hangs it up. Navy vs Ohio St: Look out O-HI-O. USC is going to run up the score this week.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see Buffalo this week. Next weeks game against Pitt is on Gameplan though, so I should be watching. To bad Syracuse/Penn St isn't national. I'd like to see how they hold up against a top team.
-
Might want to wait until their next game to get too excited. As undisciplined as that defense is, GT could be a nightmare.
-
That's pretty standard though. You would see the same thing viewing any game. The thing that makes the last play surprising is that they reviewed it. Given that they had everyone in the booth viewing the play and the clock in slow motion over and over again, it seems like the call would have come back incomplete with :01 second left.
-
Yeah....ugly on defense. Defense does count, right?
-
Kind of an ugly game, but it was very competitive and had an excellent finish. Probably the best of the week!
-
Too bad state fans are missing it too. Seriously, how do you not sell out opening weekend against an in-state, in-conference rival?? BTW, how do you make an ACC team look good on opening weekend?? (HINT: It is NOT play them against an FBS team)

That'll be a hell of a pay-per-view. -
Good timing!

I think the most impressive QB I've seen this weekend was Cincinnati's Tony Pike earlier today. Excellent awareness, good arm strength, good decisions (minus one really bad interception throw). I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this kid.
-
I've seen a lot of write-ups that have said because of his size, he will probably looked at to be a backup in the NFL. Doesn't change how well he runs that TX offense, and I think he's got the inside track at the Heisman this year.
-
Just to be clear, I'm not in the camp that thinks Tebow is going to blow up the NFL. He's going to have a rough time of it, even under great circumstances (getting drafted by the Pats would be one of those). But the fact that people come out and flat out lie about things to make their point drives me nuts.
-
I could care less what scouts say about Tebow. The point here is what a joke you are. So lets stay on point. The defender had great position on the ball, and there was another defender 5 yards in front of the receiver (and Hernandez was running at him at full speed). If the ball had been thrown behind him, it would have been knocked down or intercepted. Too far in front, and the best case scenario is the TE makes the catch and gets his head knocked off by the guy in front of him. The ball was almost perfectly thrown into a small window with very little room for error. Hernandez caught it at almost full stride and continued his run for a TD. Trying to dispute that fact with video evidence right there in front of you? I'm not sure anyone gave a rats ass about anything you have to say on this subject before now, but if so, hopefully this will be the end of it.

And next season has one of the most talented and deep class of Defensive Linemen that I can remember. There are 4 or 5 that will be game changers on their defense. It's a long season, but if things end how they look now, I will be screaming for one of the top DT's next year.
-
Yeah, that's why you're a joke. Wobbly and behind
-
That didn't take long. You are such a joke.
-
That's a great site, but now that it has gotten so popular, there are going to be a lot of fake pictures (people purposely dressing up for the pics), which is going to take something away from it.

Can't really say I agree, though since all I know about the other QB's is what I've read prior to the season, I guess that should be taken with a grain of salt. From what I've heard, the other QB's are no more likely to get the team wins, and at least with Paulus you get the extra attention for the program. Syracuse was on ESPN on opening weekend for one reason and one reason only: Paulus. For a team that is trying to rebuild a program almost from the bottom up, that attention cannot be overvalued. I don't think anyone is (or at least they shouldn't be) expecting big things out of the team this season. Paulus (and his hype) is only around for 1 year; the snaps for the young guys will be there next season.

Funny thing is, Snead is probably the "most likely to succeed" out of all of them. I love how people make grandiose decisions based on one game or game highlights.
