  1. Hammer, you clearly are not a 'real' fan, and the only reason you wanted to go in in the first place was so that you could leave early.
  2. Perhaps in the thread title I should've put "Caniacs are in post-season form" since you could buy 8 tickets in a row on the afternoon of game 7 last summer. I am EXTREMELY EXCITED to watch the Gaustad-Mair-whoever line. Depending on the game, probably Paille or Peters with Goose and Mair. 40 seconds of hell with those dudes out there...
  3. It's kinda weird but I don't even think about this anymore with Willis. When he first started contributing in 2004, I felt like I held my breath when he got the ball. Now it's completely out of mind. I don't know about the two home games, because I was at the stadium, but it seems on TV that the networks have gotten away from showing the injury replay at least once a game. Hopefully now he's just a horse RB, rather than an amazing medical comeback.
  4. Palmer had a devastating knee injury, Brady has no receivers, Delhomme was missing Steve Smith, Leftwich and the Jags have had a tough schedule, Culpepper is being dragged down by Mularkey, Brad Johnson can't be expected to play well in those purple pants, Favre has to throw picks so that Ahman Green doesn't feel bad about all his fumbles, McNair just wins baby (and he's probaby hurt), Hasselbeck has no RB or LT, Vick was a victim of the NFL fix when the league forced them to lose the New Orleans game, Plummer just has to manage the game with that rushing attack...Trust me, it's a fluke, Losman sucks.
  5. They also feel that everyday in the league is a gift, and they tend to play with maximum effort at all times, practice included. I know we can all think of a few high draft picks from big-time college programs who carried a heavy sense of entitlement. Depending on the player, that $10 million rookie signing bonus for top-10 picks can squash the fire inside. But when you receive no signing bonus, and the alternative is working in a warehouse or driving a truck, the fire tends to burn a bit hotter.
  6. I heard yesterday that Carolina had not yet sold out their opening night game against the Sabres (tomorrow night.) I went to the Canes' website today, and it said the game was sold out, but when you click on the link to buy tickets, the Ticketmaster website still has them available. I guess I understand- it's not like anything important will happen at the game...like, say....raising a championship banner.... I would love to hear the Buffalo contingent getting a "Let's Go Buf-fa-lo" chant going during the banner ceremony. CLASSIC... Anyways, it feels like just yesterday the Sabres offense and the Rochester Americans defense took the Canes to the limit. The Sabres will be ready to play, and I expect them to come out flying. I actually like the schedule. I like the fact that Buffalo will be walking into the arena where their season ended, and watch the Hurricanes raise the banner. It will be an immediate reminder of what they're playing for, and how close they came last year. I look for a 5-2 Sabres beatdown. Sabres finalized roster. Novotny and Paille earned the last two forward spots; Thorburn was released and has to clear waivers before he can be sent down to Rochester. Hard to believe that was Pominville in that situation last year, exposed to the entire league.
  7. Did anyone see Kelly going around the field high-fiving the fans, and then he stopped and took a pull off that guy's beer? Classic Jimbo.
  8. Sadly, this chapter ends with tater spitting blood from his mouth, while the two lesbos partake in a belching contest after pounding the hot dogs and beer.
  9. I think cincy has that post on autoreply.
  10. It's okay Superfan, you're off duty for a while. No home game till Oct 22nd.
  11. Some very broad generalizations from a guy who doesn't go to the game, and cries when it's not sold out and he won't be able to watch on TV. Buck up and then you can talk. If Tops buys the last 2000 tix and donates them to the Boys Club or military families, you get to sit home and watch on TV, and then come here and criticize anyone who leaves early or wasn't loud enough. Nice. By the way, there wasn't six minutes left when people left the Jets game. There was three minutes left, and the Jets just milked half the quarter away on a long TD drive. 28-13, this sucks I'm outta here. That has always happened at Bills game, don't give me the "Fans are not what they used to be" bullschit. The exact same thing has always happened. If players are sad because the stadium is half-full, tough titties. That shouldn't even be a concern to them.
  12. I can think of 6 or 7 different exits without trying too hard. Traffic sucks after the game? Did you consider that there are 50,000 cars all trying to do the same thing at the same time???
  13. Didn't Rats have a string of stabbings a few years ago? And I'm talking about real knives, not yours truly stabbing girls with my pork sword.
  14. Agreed. Losman's 75% completions also helped on those 2nd & 8's.
  15. I consider myself die hard, and I've left both games early this year. I left after the Jets scored with 3 minutes left to go up 28-13. That was for two reasons- 1) The Bills needed 15 points in 3 minutes to tie, and they had scored only 13 in the first 57 minutes. 2) I was sitting with four friends, three of whom were Jets fans, and I wanted them to shut up, so we left. Don't worry, I was in the Big Tree to watch the final TD and drive. I left early yesterday because the game ran long and I promised my grandmother I'd drive up to Lewiston to cut down some trees in her yard. I didn't want to get stuck in traffic so I bolted when the Bills punted up 17-6 with three minutes left. I did not want to operate the chainsaw in the dark. I whole-heartedly apologize if their loss to the Jets or the close finish against the Vikes was my fault. By the way, those of you with tix to last season's games, how did you NOT leave early???
  16. They may have had a point. As I see it, Willis had 16 carries up the middle or between the guards for 24 yards. He had 11 carries off tackle or out wide for 51 yards. (There may be something amiss as his stats say 28 for 78 but the play-by-play has 27 for 75.) His up the middle runs looked like this: 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, 2, 0, 2, 2, -1, 1, 6, 3, 0, 2, -1 His off tackle runs looked like this: 5, 4, 2, 18, 0, -2, 2, 7, 1, 6, 8 I think the Bills knew running would be difficult up the middle with Minnesota's hogs. I give them credit for sticking to it. However, don't bust on the announcers who were just noticing and commenting on what was actually happening. I do love the 16 rushes in the 2nd half, and he could've had 18 or 19 if they didn't throw three straight on that one series.
  17. Two weeks ago, the body of a 22-year old Lockport man was found shot to death in his truck in the parking lot of his employer, Dynabride on Sheridan Drive. It was reported that he was shot once in the back, and then several more times from a close distance. There are zero leads or suspects. Just today, police discovered the body of a woman who they believe is a 45-year old mother of four who disappeared while jogging on a popular bike path on Friday. Foul play is suspected and they are treating the case as a homicide. Again, police are asking for any leads or information. Clarence is a large, expanding area with a mix of people spanning the economic spectrum, but seems like a very nice suburb. It just goes to show you the psychopaths do not limit their surroundings. They come up out of the woodwork everywhere. A spree of robberies is one thing. But homicides are on a completely different level. They are easy to cast aside when it's gang related in an urban environment, but when it happens in Clarence, it proves it can happen anywhere.
  18. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle...
  19. Well said Pyrite, I agree. I have been critical of the 'killer instinct,' but I loved the call in Foxboro on 4th down, and overall, I liked the play calling yesterday. The passes at the end of the 4th qtr I probably could've done without. The time to pass was when they were on the 5-yd line after Willis ran for 0 yards on 1st and 2nd down. The frustrating part was that between 2nd and 3rd down, there was a quarter change, which meant the Bills had a lot of time to come up with a play they thought would work, and that JP would feel comfortable executing. Then they came out and ran Willis up the middle for 0 yards. Really seemed like they settled in that situation. JP back to pass opens up many options, including WR's, JP's legs, or a toss into the bleachers if everything's covered. Even a sack doesn't take them out of FG range. It was overly-conservative and would have been a HUGE deal on this board if they ended up losing.
  20. Not coincidentally, Thurman was in town for Reed's WOF induction and he mentioned this morning that he had a talk with Willis before the game. Thurman mentioned last Monday after the Jets game when asked about Willis missing blocking assignments that there is about 10% skill and 90% heart involved when an RB picks up the blitz. I'm sure he relayed that message to Willis directly.
  21. The Chargers dominated the Ravens yesterday but lost because they got conservative. The Bills missed the playoffs in '04 by one game, and they dominated Jacksonville but lost in the opener. It has been mentioned many times- the teams in the NFL are so close, that the margin of winning and losing often boils down to three or four plays. Letting a team hang around by settling for FG's even though you are controlling all aspects of the game is a recipe for disaster. Fans of teams coached by Schottenheimer have seen it all too often. The Chargers are in relatively the same boat as the Bills- inexperienced QB, great RB, solid defense, competitive division. Wouldn't you rather miss the playoffs going for it rather than trying to milk your way in? Same old Martyball
  22. First of all, you are correct. I'm not trying to disqualify a win in what was an overall dominating performance by the Bills. Good to see Willis power his way into the end zone. Price's TD was 2nd & goal from the 8, and he caught the ball on his stomach at the 10. Thankfully, Minnesota did not feel like tackling on that play and Peerless was able to scamper back near the 20 before finally squeezing down the sideline and in. I'm not here to be negative or disqualify a TD, but that was 1/3 extreme luck, 1/3 Price's resiliance, and 1/3 horrible defense. If they touch Price down at the 10, Bills history suggests a FG would've resulted there. Obviously it doesn't matter because Price made a great play. The issue I take is the final two plays of the 3rd qtr and the first play of the 4th qtr. Three straight runs to McGahee up the middle, where the Vikes are EXTREMELY tough to run on. I like hammering McGahee inside the 10, and after the Mularkey era, it's tough to criticize. But give Losman a chance for the end zone on 3rd down. Trust him to throw the ball into row 10 if nothing is open. 21-6 early in the 4th and the Viking's would've been broken. Good teams will punch it in from the 5 to push the foot down on the throat of the opponent. Someone said yesterday that the Bills are not a good team yet. I agree, any win at all is fantastic. They just seemed a little too happy with 3 points in that situation, and it almost bit them in the ass.
  23. In a time where major world issues could have a heavy impact on the next fifty years for our country and the planet, Congress continues to bog themselves down in the tediousness of online poker and the use of 'God' in the Pledge. Both parties have been a joke and seem content to waste their own time. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that changing the names in November will result in any change in action. Same schit different day. By the way, this bill passed easily- 300-and-change to 90-something. Now the gov't has bought themselves some time to figure out how to regulate and (more importantly) tax the online gaming industry, which no doubt is the next step.
  24. I don't think "Relax" would've been in your thread title if Robinson caught that bomb on the last drive. Close to the vest almost cost them a game that they dominated. (By close to the vest, I mean settling for 3 when they had a chance to put the game away with a TD. Overall I liked the play calling.)
  25. As long as we pick white defensive linemen in rounds 2-4, I don't care who we get in the first round.
