  1. Just called in and hammered on Indy -7, with a little somethin-somethin on under 48 as well. Plus $5,000 on TAILS!!!! The final wagering day on football for seven months- always bittersweet!
  2. Agreed. Besides Belichick, Manning would be the last guy I'd want to see after two weeks of prep. He's going to walk to the line and know what set the Bears are in, and will do all of his shucking and jiving to get the Colts in the right play. I bet the Colts against the Chiefs, they covered. I bet the Colts against the Ravens, on the road on grass, and they covered. I bet the Colts against the Patriots, and they covered. Now I'm supposed to take Rex Grossman and the Bears??? Not a chance in hell....
  3. All of that info listed above doesn't change the fact that you're still betting on Rex. Yes, Rex Grossman. The Colts will not give the Bears the game like the Saints did. I know it was the year of the underdog in NFL wagering...But the AFC also OWNED the NFC this year. Are we forgetting that the Dolphins went into Soldier Field and won 31-13? The Dolphins, people!!!
  4. Indy heavy (especially at 6.5; I'm still taking them at 7.5) and light on the under.
  5. 1. 49ers defensive coordinator George Seifert, who misses the team's flight to SB XVI and is diverted to Buffalo airport 2. Career Builders chimpanzees. Chimps in suits. Does it EVER not work??? 3. Coach Finstock in "Teen Wolf." Just a sampling of his genius: "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese." Those are life-lessons, folks. Words to live by. 4. Whatever scandal Matt Millen has videotaped that somehow allows him to blackmail his boss and retain his job 5. By far the worst was Ashlee Simpson at the USC-Oklahoma Orange Bowl. Pathetic beyond belief...
  6. Thank you. I love the "We could draft Joe Anyname from New Mexico State in the 5th round and he would be better than Willis" line of thinking. I'm not dillusional- I don't think Willis is LDT, or even Stephen Jackson. However, while there are about 10 or 15 teams who would prefer their current back to Willis, there are also about 10 or 15 teams for whom Willis would be a MAJOR upgrade. (And still, those teams wouldn't offer anything higher than a 3rd or 4th rounder for him.) Sit tight...What is so upsetting about 1100 yards and 7 TD's??? He dances? He has children out of wedlock? He doesn't meet Western New York's obvious high standards for intelligence? Please. And for two bars I enjoy very much, Coles and Brennans, the #21 bar rag idea is sad and pathetic. And they think Willis is dumb...
  7. We got UNC-NC State on the East Coast...I heard UT lost but I saw Durant's stats...32 pts on 13-21 shooting...He's a beast! Monday night on ESPN (or maybe the Deuce) 9pm- check this kid out if you haven't already...
  8. Let's not pretend that Thurman was ALWAYS a team-first, humble, man-of-the-community. There were plenty of grumblings when he was here of fans growing tired of his "I get no respect" off-the-field act. He was a major part of the Bickering Bills squad. It's a miracle we didn't run him out of town too. Thurmal always brought it on Sunday, which is why he got a pass on a lot of things, personal problems included. Willis' only issue in Buffalo is his inconsistent performances. I still think Willis somewhere between the 10th and 15th best RB in the league. You don't toss a 1200-yard rusher to the street because he is a poor interview.
  9. What percentage of the players who checked their manhood sniffed their own hand afterwards?
  10. I could've went 1-on-5 and won that game with this firehose...
  11. Ted Johnson was a 10-year vet who played the most brutal postition in a brutal sport, where heavy collisions are the norm. He KNOWS he hurt his noggin in a practice in August 2002, but continued to play for three complete seasons in '02, '03, and '04? "I was hitting my head with a hammer at 10am, and it started to hurt around 10:05, and I kept hitting my head with a hammer until 4pm. Now I can't remember where I put my car keys. That smash at 10:04am must've really done me in." The Pats are shady too, though, because of the way they are so secretive with their staff and only let Belichick deal with the media. I imagine that flies when you are winning, but when you are losing, the secretive stuff is an insult to fans and becomes extremely annoying- a la Mularkey/Donahoe.
  12. I thoroughly enjoyed Brno. I spent two days and one night there, so I only saw the nightlife once, on a Thursday. Not too bad...The Brno/Prague dynamic reminded me a little of the NYC/Buffalo relationship. Brno is a little grittier and lacking the glitz of Prague, and as the 2nd-largest city in Czech, they have a bit of the inferiority complex. But it's a good time. My friend that I was visiting in Czech lives there with his girlfriend, whom he met while studying abroad for a year in college in Brno, so he knew the spots. Without that inside info, maybe I wouldn't have enjoyed it that much? I don't know...All the restaurants, bars, and sites were cool, but that's probably because he knew what was good...
  13. All I know is that you stole this 'artist's rendering' theory from several others on local journalist/radio people and tried to pass it off as your own. Because it's highly likely that if there was NEVER a drawing of the new Peace Bridge in the Buffalo News, it would spanning the Niagara right now.
  14. My personal #1- Number 29- she always looks incredible. Numbers 61-99 should be appalled. I think this chick is disgusting. Number 60
  15. Those all seem like very legit possibilities. It's a little known fact that Ted Johnson was also managing the Red Sox in 2003, and he meant to take Pedro out in Game 7 at Yankee Stadium. However, by the time he got to the mound, he forgot why he went out there in the first place, so he just patted Pedro on the arm and went back to the dugout.
  16. I read the article obie. How do you know Belichick overrode the trainer? Because yahoo.com said so? Listen, I'm sure there are a few things in the article that are true, and I'm sure there are a few things that are fabricated. It just strikes me as odd that an 11-year veteran, who played a brutal position in a brutal collision sport, is blaming a practice in August 2002 for his forgetfulness, when he went on and played two more full seasons in '03 and '04 on his own accord. That doesn't strike you as odd?
  17. The rooster is in the hen house. I repeat, the rooster is in the hen house.
  18. If the advice of the team's trainer was that Johnson "shouldn't be subjected to hard hits," trust me, he wouldn't have been practicing. Is the trainer going to ask the other team on Sunday not to hit Johnson hard? This is rediculous. At the moment, I side with Belichick on this one. I know there are some exceptions, like practicing light with a sprained ankle, etc. But if you are recovering from a concussion, you don't come back at 75%. You don't play injured with a concussion like you do with other injuries, especially when you play linebacker in the NFL. If I was Billy-boy, and TJ told me he was practicing, I wouldn't hold back on him. The second the trainer said "take it easy," I would have told him to take his pads off right then. The source of the story is the guy who readily admits he can't remember things. The Pats are shady about letting staffers speak to the media, though...It'd be nice to hear the trainer's side...
  19. Who won the gold medal in Snowboard half-pipe, B word?
  20. Not that the coffee shop is an unusual place to spot a hottie, but there is an incredibly hot girl named Daniela who works at my local Starbucks. She is Czech and the accent makes my pants tight. It is a pleasure to stop by in the morning to get a double dose of the wakeup- the cutie and the $11 coffee. Plus I visited the Czech Republic last spring and spent two days in her hometown of Brno, so I have that "in." Trust me, I'm working on it. My girlfriend and I were driving to NYC two weeks ago and leaving early in the morning, and she wanted to stop at Starbucks to get a coffee. I couldn't do the daily flirt in front of my girlfriend so I said "Looks packed" as we passed the empty parking lot and proceeded to wait in line for 10 minutes in the Tim Horton's drive thru.
  21. That's true, it's the nature of the beast in the NCAA game that you will always have a young team. However, PG is the one position where you can tell the difference between a true frosh and a JR/SR, especially come tournament time. Many games have been won and lost because of experience/lack thereof at that position.
  22. And there's always four or five riding in a car, never just one. Carpooling is good for the environment.
