  1. Aaron Schobel in my opinion has not even come close to earning the money we gave him a few years back. I always wondered if it had anything to do with his dramatic weight loss. His stats from 2002-2006, 8.5, 11.5, 8, 12, and 14 sacks. Then in 2007 he dropped to 6.5 sacks and then in 2008 when he was injured after 4 or 5 games, 1 sack. If you look at his weight from his rookie season up until 2006 he played anywhere from 262 to 264lbs. In 2007, 2008, and 2009 his weight is recorded at 243lbs. He lost 20lbs. Does anyone think there is a correlation between his recent weight loss and his performance. Did he sacrafice to much strength to try and increase his speed?

I think you make a valid point. 243 is, IMO, a little light in the arse for an every down defensive end. I certainly hope that what you're suggesting is the case rather than what could also be true, and that is just maybe his skills are declining. Let's hope 2009 sees him regain his old form. I'd be happy with 8-10 sacks from Schobel this year...

  2. Yup, 133 and 134 are the only sections I will sit in as well. (If folks want to call me a snob so be it but since I go to one game a year I'm allowed to be picky.) As much as people rave about other sections, what you see on StubHub is that fewer seat holders in 133 and 134 sell their seats as compared to the rest of the stadium even though they command more money (I guess because they are the real old timers) so you have to be persistent. I bagged 2 tix in Sec. 134 about 2 months ago, but I'm sure if you keep looking you will be OK.

Absolutely. if you're only going to get to go to one or two games a year, then by all means you should sit exactly where you want to sit. I'm sure if i just be patient I will find some good seats...

  3. Is this guy high??

lolol i saw that! I check stubhub daily and when i saw that i thought maybe someone was selling season tickets lower level 50 yard line 15th row or something! It's gotta be a typo. No one could be that dumb....

  4. I think his point was, for Bills fans who live halfway around the country and get to one home game a year, paying a premium to get good seats is not really an issue. My initial posting was intended to refute the idea that you can only get crappy tickets from StubHub.

Before I moved from WNY I had season tix for 10 years, so I understand how longtime season tix holders would get a kick out of someone paying a premium to get good seats. But for me, treating my son to one game a year by getting a pair of seats for the opener on the 50 yd line, 40 rows up for under $400 means that StubHub works for me. Paying the premium is no issue because without doing that I can't get close to those seats.

I definitely agree with you. Stubhub certainly isn't the cheapest website out there for buying tickets, but I prefer it because it definitely allows you to get great seats. I live in Atlanta, and every year I go up to Buffalo and take my little cousin who lives up there to a game. Last year we got to go to the Monday night game against the Browns, and we had lower level seats, in section 133, also about 40 rows up, and I got two tickets for about 400 bucks. It was well worth it. Ebay has prices that are lower, but it's tough finding the really great seats on ebay.

We're planning on going to the home opener this year, but right now, they only have a couple seats in sections 133 and 134 (which are the only sections I want to sit in), so hopefully as the date gets closer, there will be some better pickings on there....

  5. how. I am dog. I come in peace

the pale face, he takes our Buffalo and he takes our land, and he feeds us whiskey so we go crazy and howl at the moon. He replaces our arrows with firesticks so we will go to war against his enemies.

So I come to you now in search of answers, will TO, the mighty warrior from the south help bring back the mighty Buffalo and save us from the pale face called belicheat and the evil spirit they call shady Brady.

    ;)

I play fantasy football and I'm sure there are a # of you who do as well. Westbrook is still having problems with his ankle. The same ankle that was giving him problems last season. We are over 5 months removed from lsat season and it's still keeping him out of practices. Sounds like this is just another on the long list of issues this injury prone, but very productive when healthy, RB has had. Sounds like Lesean McCoy could be a good option this coming season.

The funny thing is, I always end up with a pretty decent draft position in my leagues, and for the past 3 years, Brian Westbrook has been available when it comes to my pick...and every year I pass on him. and every year he puts up stellar numbers...

sad thing is, this year, i'll probably pass on him again...

  7. He is a cheap cheap fat bastard ....... BUT...... this team needs a little bit of an edge. We need to add some toughness and grit to the D. A guy like him next to Stroud would be outstanding but lets be realistic the Pats are going to Franchise him and either keep him or make sure they get to direct where he goes so he does not end up in a place like Buffalo.

that i can't argue with either. There's no doubt he'd be an upgrade to the d-line, and a significant one at that. I would have to put my personal dislike for the mofo aside. Wow, just hearing Stroud and Wilfork next to each other...man that's pretty sick.

I still don't like the dirty fat SOB though.

  8. Plus 1--he's easily the dirtiest player in the League, IMHO, and I wouldn't want to see him in Bills uni. He's a POS--that hit on JP was so blatantly intentional it wasn't funny and then for him, after a season full of similar garbage (who can forget his trying to poke out Brandon Jacobs' eye as well) gets a slap on the wrist from the Commish after bringing his wife to the meeting. If he played for anyone else he almost certainly would have gotten a suspension at that point (he'd been fined 4 times that year), but, oh, no, can't suspend a Pat* going into the undefeated playoffs. The favoritism shown to that team makes me puke. Remember, too, that was the year Roy Williams was actually suspended a game for his horse collars, much less, IMHO, than what Wilfork had done up to that point.....

My sentiments exactly. I can't believe he got his wife to put together some bogus DVD to give to the commish, and then on top of that it actually worked!!! unbelievable. yeah, I definitely can't stand Wilfork. Good player or not, I just wouldn't be jumping for joy if we signed him....

  9. Excellent logic. Deny the Bills a great tackle because of something that may/may not have been intentional.

I never said he wasn't a good DT, not disputing that at all. All I'm saying is that the guy is a dirty player, and I think you are probably one of the few Bills fans, heck, football fans period who doesn't think that shot he took at JP wasn't intentional.

I am as diehard a Bills fan as they come, and want nothing more than to see the Bills succeed. And if by some chance he WERE to come to the Bills, I definitely wouldn't cry about it. I just don't like dirty players, especially ones who play for the Patriots, and ones who intentionally try to seriously hurt our players.

  10. 7-9 is ok even, he will survive. It is a wonder that he does not read some of these message boards and do the right thing, resign. Matt Millen redux.

I just can't believe that if we finish 7-9 again that Jauron will be back. No way, no how. RW can't be that pressed over money that he refuses to eat a contract of a proven loser. If the Bills finish 7-9 again, and bring back Jauron, there's no way they can count on people renewing season tickets, and continuing to spend money on a sh-- product...

  11. Take away Tebow's running ability and he is a very average QB. The NFL is a pocket passer's league, and we would be much better off with a Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford.

I have to agree with you. If Trent ends up not being our answer at QB(I'm hoping and praying he will be), then I'd much rather see Buffalo drafting McCoy or Bradford over Tebow. I would be surprised to see Tebow drafted in the first round, unless this year he really shows he can air it out on a consistent basis and be that pocket passer when he needs to be, in addition to being a great running threat. One thing about his running too, is that he isn't the fastest or most elusive runner when he does take off. I don't think he would have the success running the ball in the pro level that he has had in college...

  12. the fact that we went 0-6 against the division last year and this idiot still has a job, is remarkable. Talk about failing your way up the ladder, this guy is failing his way to long term job security.

It is truly mindboggling isn't it? One winning year as a head coach? And if i'm not mistaken, that year that the bears went 13-3, didn't they lose in the first round of the playoffs?

I'm sick of hearing how this guy is a player's coach, the players love playing for him. Obviously that hasn't translated to wins for this guy. If DJ is let go after this season, I swear I'm all for bringing in a Jon Gruden, Bill Cowher, light a fire under the player's asses type of coach.

  13. It is most likely the last year to get things right for several members of the Bills team. Starting with the painfully obvious; the head coach. Then Schonert, maybe Fewell and even Edwards.

Regardless of how Edwards does this season, I would love to see the Bills draft Tebow, although I'm in the minority on that. I think he is going to polish his QB skills this year at UF and do for some NFL team, exactly what he has done throughout his high school and college career: lead and win.

The naysayers will now chip in.......

Personally, I'm not sold on Tebow as a being a great NFL QB just yet. But I will say this, you are right, he is a proven winner down there at UF. That is something you want in your leader, and on your team, and in your locker room. I still wonder though, if what he's doing at Florida will be the same thing he'll be able to do in the NFL.

But you are definitely correct in this being a make or break year for SEVERAL bills players/coaches.

  14. Obviously it depends on how his play is. I can imagine a scenario where he has a solid year and we still miss the playoffs. In any case, it'll come down to the opinion of the new coaching staff/FO. :w00t:

Great point about it coming down to the opinion of the new coaching staff/FO. If we miss the playoffs again, and fail to improve by at least two games, I think it would be really difficult to bring back Jauron and Co. If Trent plays well, avoids injuries, and truly shines, even if we brought in an entirely new staff, it would be difficult for them to want to replace a young, budding *potentially* star QB. But if he performs mediocre at best, continues to be injury prone, then yes, I could definitely see them going after a QB with a 1st day pick...

  15. Not even a good coordinator. He sux all around. Man, am I a frustrated fan, stuck with DJ for another futile season.

You are not alone. I too, am frustrated as any with DJ. Personally, I think we need to at least get to the 10 win plateau for me to accept him coming back as the HC. Do I think that's going to happen? No. Our schedule is brutal this year, and I don't think we really did enough in the offseason(i know it's not over yet) to address our positions of need. I'm not sold on Langston Walker as the left tackle, our OLB position hasn't been addressed, tight end, and we're still weak on the D-Line(please let Maybin be what we hope he can be).

Let me also put it out there that I don't care if we do go 10-6, if those 6 losses are all in our division, DJ should not only be canned, but kicked dead in the nuts.

  16. Seeing as last season was supposed to be "Playoffs or Bust" I would hope that anything short of the playoffs would mean his dismissal.

I hope you are right. The sad thing though, i think if we were to finish 9-7, and somehow sneak into the playoffs as a wild-card, with a first round exit, that would be enough for them to keep jauron. Personally, i would need to see at least 10-6 for me to even think about wanting to see him return as a head coach. Because of the difficult schedule, i would think 10-6 would be enough to keep him.

  17. First let me just say I thoroughly enjoy reading all of the topics and posts on this board, and for the most part, I just read and don't reply often. But since this time of year is so slow, I decided to voice a huge concern of mine. My biggest fear, in regard to this upcoming season, is that Buffalo improves it's record by, let's just say, two games, and finishes 9-7. Most likely that won't be enough to get us into the playoffs. But due to the improvement, ownership and management decides to keep DJ around....

I do not like, and have never liked Dick Jauron as the coach of the Buffalo Bills. I didn't like the pick when it was first made, and have never come around. The biggest thing I dislike about him is that he seems to be lifeless on the sidelines, and the team seems as if it's taken his identity. I think that they are okay with losing! In that recent article by Tim Graham about Jim Kelly, even Jimbo said that the locker room was dead, and you couldn't even tell if the team won or lost...that is truly, truly sad.

So, my question to everyone is this...What has to happen this year for the Bills to retain Jauron? Is a one or two game improvement going to be enough to keep him? Wild card?
