  1. I don't think the Bills will use their first round pick on a QB, LT or NT. Players at these positions tend to need a year or more of experience to be reliable and the Bills really need players who can contribute right away. So, if after reviewing all the film they can, Nix and Gailey decide they guys they need for those positions aren't on the current roster, I expect them to either trade for them or to be very aggressive in free agency. Also, the draft seems particularly weak in "franchise" QBs. They might very well use a second or third round pick on, say, Dan Lefevour. And I think they'll grab a RB somewhere along the line (Toby Gerhart's coming out, isn't he?).

While I'm not a big fan of McNabb, I could see the Bills packaging the #9 pick along with Lynch for him (Brian Westbrook looks like he's done in Philly) if Nix and Gailey don't think TE, Brohm of Fitz have the goods and don't believe any of the QBs coming out this year are "day one" starters.

i agree that Westbrook may be done, but they have a more than adequate replacement for him in Lesean McCoy.....but i would still love to see the Bills get McNabb...but i don't think he'd want to come here..

  2. This thread demonstrates why it takes a lot of skill and knowledge to run a football team. I think youd be hard pressed to find someone with an ounce of football intelligence who thinks B shott is a better coach than Cowher. Bill Cowher might not be the savior but he sure as H*** is a better coach than some OC with the last name Bills fans recognize bc of daddy.

Lets be honest here folks. Most of you on this board love B shott because of his dads roots to the Bills, not bc of his coaching philosophy. The Jets were ranked 20th 16th and 26th in total offense the last three years , thats not exactly offensive brilliance.

    +5 :D

  3. Well, don't post stupid things. Jk

But seriously, this is a pretty terrible idea. Most guy's calling out McCoy have never played a down of football intheir life, much less at the highest college level. McCoy has teh most wins in NCAA HISTORY. That means he played a lot of games and probably through some pain. To think that he just suddenly play in the championship just is stupid and insulting. But you're welcome to your opinion. :w00t:

Thank you for at least not insulting me. I can definitely see your point of view. I did play college football, and I have taken plenty of hits, but I definitely can say I wasn't on the field yesterday, and even though it didn't look that bad, I don't know the severity of the hit. I definitely didn't get a medical degree, so I have no idea how bad it was. But I guess the only point I was trying to make was that it just didn't seem to me like the kid wanted to get back onto the "battlefield" with his teammates.

But hey, it's just my opinion....I've been known to be wrong a time or two...

  4. With idiotic comments like these, it's a good thing you don't post very often. It spares the rest of us.

My comment is idiotic? Because I posted an opinion that is not one that you agree with? I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this, and because you don't agree, you can come on here and look down on me and tell me my post is idiotic? Why don't you get over yourself, immediately.

Of all my posts, I've never come on here and insulted anyone, that's not my M.O. I'm sure of all your posts you've never made an opinion that maybe other people don't agree with.

I've read many of your posts, and for the most part thought you were a pretty alright guy. Don't come on here trying to belittle someone for their idea.

It's a$$holes like you that are the reason other people don't post their ideas. This is a message board.

    Go f$ck yourself....

  5. He's just observing his draft stock dropping is all.

I agree. For all the "supposed" talent that this guy has, this injury, on a suspect hit, in the national title game, it's got to make some GM's and coaches really question this guy's heart....i would at least think.

I am still dumbfounded by this guy being so quick to come out of the game like that....

  6. I'm sorry, there is no way this guy should be a Buffalo Bill. I don't care how much of an arm he has, this kid is as tough as wet tissue paper. I'm not a medical doctor, nor was I the one on the field who took that hit, but that had to be one of the weakest hits I've ever seen knock someone out of the game! I mean, come on! Are you kidding me? This is the national championship, this is for all the marbles, the pinnacle of the college football stage, and you're "the one" who your teams hopes rest on! And you take a hit like that and just effing quit??? Your whole effing team is counting on you, you're the undenied leader, and that is enough to take you out? I'm sorry, the only way I'm not goin back in the game is if I'm dead.

I don't post often, but I had to voice my opinion on this one. I don't want this guy on the Bills.

  7. My God, even Carucci lowered himself to bashing Owens in his article (or collection of anonymous bull **** quotes, whatever that POS piece was). Yeah he dropped a few and looked disinterested in fighting for badly thrown balls a few times. Yup, he sure did. But if he had the efffing ball thrown to him even HALF of the times he had a step on his coverage, he'd have been right up there with the receiving leaders, no doubt about it. The tape doesn't lie. He was open more often than Paris Hilton's legs.

What was he supposed to do, throw himself the goddam ball? :worthy:

    couldn't agree more.

  8. I disagree, I wouldn't call him a bum at all. Primadonna receiver yes. Acts like a little kid when the ball isn't being thrown his way? Sure.

But how many times has he had his defender beaten by SEVERAL steps only to have the ball grossly underthrown? To a certain extent, I can't blame him for his lackluster body language. Don't get me wrong, he certainly should've tried to break up a ball or two, but I wouldn't go as far as to call him a bum. To be as old as he is, the guy is in remarkable shape, and I believe wherever he goes when he leaves Buffalo, he's still got a couple good years left in him.

Unfortunately, we just weren't able to utilize him....

  9. Jags - 37

    Bills - 14

It's a total blowout today in Jacksonville. Buffalo can't stop the run and Marcus Stroud is out.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happened, but for some reason, I think the Bills will win today. My guess is they play hard for coach fewell, and try to get him a victory.

    I'm going Buffalo 24, Jacksonville 17.

  10. I disagree 100%. I've watched the same games you have. We have both watched T.O. get seperation down the field countless times. I don't like the few he's dropped, but it seems that has always been a problem with him, despite his Hall of Fame numbers. But what I don't like much more then that, are the times neither Edwards nor Fitz has been able to get the ball down the field to him while he still had steps on the d-back! The man is in amazing physical shape, and he certainly had no trouble "seperating" himself from the Texans D on his TD reverse run, did he?

If Fat Van Pelt has even a pea sized brain, playing behind what I also agree is the worst line in the NFL today, and perhaps one of the very worst in NFL history, he should incorporate many two step drop and throws out to the sidelines or stand up and throw over the middles to both Evans and Owens, beginning with the very first offensive play from scrimmage at the Titans a week from Sunday! If both Rosenhaus and I are convinced Owens still has "seperation speed" and playmaking ability, then Van Pelt should just take a page out of that old Keyshawn Johnson book and "get T.O. the damn ball"! If Edwards is too scared to stand up and throw it, and Fitzy is too inaccurate to throw the ball near him, then Brandon should spend some of the money he saved by cutting Walker and sign Garcia for the second half of the season! Jeff could come in, shake hands with the diva, and they could make something special happen for 8 games - if I remember correctly that was all we got out of Drew Bledsoe's 3 years in Buffalo anyway!!

very well said. i couldn't agree more. i can think of at least once every game where T.O. has beaten his defender by at least a step or two....

  11. I couldn't agree less.

We gave him his warm reception at the Hall of Fame. We pay tribute to his team by selling-out game after game. If people would have booed him during his initial ceremony, I would have considered it a little distasteful, but totally justified considering the team put on the field.

But I find it utterly pathetic that the ceremony is back on because we have won 2 games in a row. I am all for respecting the elderly, but this coward deserves to be booed.

    Well said sir. Well said.

I have absolutely no problem with people booing him. None. And the fact that all of a sudden now that we've won two in a row he decides it's safe to have the ceremony??? LAME...

  12. But why would you be envious of the same end result?

No matter who the 'Skins have at QB, or who is the Head Coach, the win-loss record is so similar through the past decade. Like the Bills, the front office and its lack of ability is what hinders each franchise.

Having an owner who is willing to throw good money after bad does not give them a better chance at winning.

i didn't say i'd be envious of the same end result, all i was saying is that i was envious of the Redskins having an owner who wasn't afraid to go after big name free agents with the thought of trying to improve the team. While his free agent acquisitions haven't lived up to their paychecks(how many in the NFL actually do), I do applaud him for at least trying to improve the team, which is more than I can say for our owner.

  13. I truly don't understand this. It's been well researched and defined that all Buffalo needs is a new owner that will spend money and we'll have a winning team. So how is it the Redskins have an owner that spends money like that and they're not winning every year?

outstanding question. and while i don't have the answer, i will say that even though the redskins suck, i'm envious that they have an owner who's AT LEAST willing to shell out big bucks for big time free agents and coaches.

  14. ok so... next week is going to be a hard win... but if we win, we go into bye week with a good full 3 weeks of trent studying titans (since he is out this week i bet you he is studying them now) then i think Jacksonville is an easy win (though browns should have been too) but we could be looking at a good 6-4 record in three weeks...

6-4? not gonna happen. It's hard to win in the NFL.....

dammit Jauron is rubbing off on me too now!!!

  15. We absolutely have a shot vs the Texans. Whether or not that translates to a victory, you got me on that one.

I will say this. Matt Schaub is DEFINITELY better than Derek Anderson, Mark Sanchez, and Jake Delhomme. I highly doubt he will giftwrap a victory for us the way Sanchez, Delhomme, and Derek Anderson tried to do for us. He is much more polished and lethal when given the time.

BUT, we also limited Drew Brees, arguably the best QB in the game now, to 172 yards passing. I really feel like our secondary is playing better than 30 other teams in the league right now, and if we can force a few more schaub picks, and our offense can just generate two or three touchdowns, we have a real shot at winning.. It's a home game, Bills fans will be rockin, and I personally feel like TO is due for a breakout game.

  16. Are you kidding me? This guy plays fantasy football with the Redskins! I've lived in MD most of my life, and this guy has literally ruined this franchise. Read this and you will agree: http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2009...ington-red.aspx

Btw, I totally agree with this thread, the Redskins are the Bills south. Me and my Redskin friends are have noticed this too and talked it about it just last week.

that was an interesting article. I will say this though, Snyder may be responsible for the debacle that the redskins have become, but many of the moves he makes, at least it gives off the impression that he's trying to win, and trying to add talent to the team. I never get that feeling from Ralph....
