Matt McGuire's 2008 NFL Pre-Draft Analysis
Spiderweb replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would mean that Faulk would have to know how to write, but beyond the "x" he signs for his paycheck, he's a bit challenged. -
You've been a Bills fan for too long if...
Spiderweb replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Talk about a year full of futility, 1968. Mini Max Anderson....remember him? QB injury carousel, Budding County Exec playing QB, and our only win came against the Jets when The Bills picked off 5 or6 Joe Namath throws, with Janik returning a couple of those for scores if I recall correctly. Note: Jets went on to beat Baltimore in SB III to finish that season.... -
Bengals WR Chris Henry arrested
Spiderweb replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't Goodell warn him last year that his suspension was his last chance? -
Ah, ther old "Avanti"....I recall as a very young lad heading up to Delaware Ave in Kenmore and getting the brochures from the Studebaker dealer for the Avanti. They closed the dealership sometime in the early 60's. We also went up the street to hit the Chevy dealer (Lou Awald) and then the Ford dealership. Good times.....loved when the new cars came out and we went to see them.

Shouman will make the team as a ST and TE if he makes it, period. I believe the H-back experiments are over. Yet, in his brief time last year, he looked like a player and may surprise.

Anyone know what the holdup is with re-signing Evans?
Spiderweb replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
$$$$, Evans (does he want to stay?), and his agent.... My gut tells me he's readying himself to move on. I hope not, but that's what it looks like to me. -
Kelsay hasn't even outplayed a healthy Denny and probably shouldn't even be the starter. I must admit my bias though as Kelsay just doesn't impress me, at least not yet. Maybe this will be his year though. We'll see..............

should we have signed bryant johnson
Spiderweb replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Johnson decided to roll the dice and by signing only a one year deal, he'll get to do the same thing next year. It's obvious that he (his agent?) played their hand in hopes of a big payday next year. One must wonder though as to why he went to the 49ers, being that they're currently suffering from their own QB issues and a putrid offense as well. Seems he didn't exactly end up in a good place to showcase his talents, which clearly was all he was willing to accept (unless some fool was willing to fork over big bucks). Sadly for him, there is only one Oakland and Al "I'm senile" Davis.... -
Why are we high on Ko Simpson?
Spiderweb replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In his day, he was a good CB, BUT there were oh so may times he had been granted hands our maker. Absolutely the worst hands I've ever seen. Had he had hands, he could have been a big time star for Buffalo. -
Ha, finally got to the one and only party who suffers to weight of the players and owners battles. Yet, we do have a choice, stop going to the games, and turn off the TV, and stop buying NFL licensed merchandise. Bleak as that sounds, that's about the only options available to the Fan....

Why are we high on Ko Simpson?

Could not have answered this any better........ -
Hard to believe the question was even asked.....

Ko Simpson, i still want him to start
Spiderweb replied to BillsD#1in2008's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keys will be, first and foremost, KO's recovery from the broken ankle, and second, will he take the next step mentally. -
I hope Jeffrey Littmann sleeps well at night
Spiderweb replied to Jeff Wright's Mullet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Somehow Littman's involvement in Polians termination escaped me. What's the story? -
Two different stories here. Bryant was looking for big $$$ so unless he got it, a multi-year deal was not something he was willing to accept. As for Hall, a bit older and looking for a bit of security, wasn't interested in the short 1 year deal. Not hard to figure.

Even though I'm getting drunk, I still want to bring some
Spiderweb replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Louisville WR Mario Urrutia (I now live in the Louisville area) was really a non-entity this past year after showing some promise in 2006. Missed a couple games and had a couple with no stats (verified with ESPN site). Had a naggng leg injury but generally was disappointing in 2007. 4th round may be a hair high, I'd go 6th or thereabouts. Never was overly impressed with him in the 4-5 games I watched this year. -
Can't say that would have been true as other facits of the Bills game weren't up to snuff either, but he surely would have made the Giants & the second Dallas games different. In both, the Bills got hurt with the run, especially in the second half of each game. Wright was just too small. He added pass rush ability that big Ted may not have had, but Mount Washington is the best nose tackle to have ever played, especially against the run
-
No matter how much that contributed to the collapse, the D & special teams also played their part. Yet, bringing it up was valid. It was a bad throw and a piss poor decision on his part. JP, however, would have been drawn and quartered.....
-
Possibly, but with last year's injuries, we were sorely understaffed in the defensive backfield and afetr watching Leonhard run around with third degree burns from being beaten as badly as he was, anything will help. Wilson, filled in admirably at FS, but he too has so much to learn (and perform) before he should be counted on for depth as well. Here's to hoping for a full and complete recovery by KO....

Originally Losman was supposed to have some of Farve's
Spiderweb replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What? No comparisons to Gary Marangi or Joe Dufek? Edwards finish last year surely was an uninspiring finish. In fact, I can only recall one game, his initial start against the Jets that he consistently moved the chains. His multi-TD game against Miami was a very mediocre game, except the 3 scores, but I guess that's the bottom line though. All in all, we're taking a risk with Edwards, yet not a huge one since JP as been a hot & cold type player (more cold than hot although I would like to see how he'd perform with a better OC than what he's had to date). If Edwards can become a consistently decent QB, all will be forgotten with the JP scenario. If not, this board will be calling for his head..... For me, I'll wait and see. So far I'm not impressed at all with his ability to go downfield, yet his short game and pocket presence seems more than adequate. Time will tell.... -

Favorite all time Bills FA
Spiderweb replied to Hazed and Amuzed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not just you, there's at least a couple more of us who felt he was the biggest (no pun intended) successful FA pickup.
