You've obviously never been to a Slayer show - when you go to see Gwar you have fun watching a bunch of people dressed up like Raiders fans complete with foam rubber helmets and spikes gong crazy and throwing meat into the crowd....when you see Slayer you get that feeling in the pit of your stomach that some serious evil is about to come forth and you could actually die.... Gwar is fun, Halloweenish evil - Slayer is just plain outright rip your face off evil

What year will we return to the Super Bowl?
The Avenger replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the year 3000 /Conan reference -
It's just plain historical fact that NTs from the North are better - Sherman had a number of fantastic NTs that got great penetration and he was able to devestate the South and burn Atlanta to the ground... The NT class of 1864 was SICK....... This coincided with an exceptionally weak class of offensive linemen from the South and thus the Civil War ended in defeat for Dixie - it's always about who does a better job in the trenches...

Wow - that must have been a great birthday party. I have 5 year old twins, and there's nothing they like more than getting stuck with needles. Hey kids! For your birthday we're gonna have a SHOT party! We'll have hats, and balloons, a HUGE NEEDLES TO DRAW BLOOD! Unless those kids were meth junkies who needed the $8 more than they feared the needles, that was one ugly party!

Dio's axeman was Vivian Campbell who also played for Whitesnake and Def Leppard.... Speaking of metal guitarists, to the list of best guitarists I would add: Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott - Pantera - proved you didn't have to play fast to be a metal legend - what a crushing sound he had Rocky George - On of the best rhythm guitarists - really opened up Suicidal Tendencies to a broader audience Kirk Hammett - Saw him play on high speed camera on an episode of Time Warp - amazing what that guy can do Dave Mustaine - His influence has really had far-ranging impact on metal - so much can be tied back to him

Great Deal on some Bills Reebok shoes!
The Avenger replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are also these (a different style) for the same price, although I can't say I like them at all..... -
Not sure if anyone saw this ad from yesterday's games, but I just about died laughing (of course I've stepped on my kids' toys too many times and I have a sick sense of humor) - one of the best ads I've seen in a very long time.... Wal-Mart Clown Ad

Bills played 3 of the 4 remaining teams
The Avenger replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Woah - let's noy carried away here. In the game the Bills took from the Jets, NY turned the ball over 6 times and we still only managed to beat them by 3. They beat us by 6 later in the year but dominated us statistically 249 yards rushing) and as I recall, butterfingers Brylon Edwrds dropped at lest 1 ball for a certain TD - we were 1 of 11 on third down conversions. We lost to the Saints by almost 3 touchdowns and our only points of the day came from a fake punt gizmo play - not even a FG from the offense. To take pride in beating the Colts second and third string players in a meaningless game at home in week 17 is laughable - how that tells us anything about how the Bills can match up against a team like the Colts in a real world situation is beyond me, unless you consider a scenario where we play them and they lose 10+ starters thoughout the course of the game. -
qualified candidates to replace John Guy

I wasn't making a crack on age as much as I was on the brand of no-change "change" the Bills seem to tout.... -
qualified candidates to replace John Guy
The Avenger replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are there any 70+ year old men who have been with the organization for the last few years who Ralph can promote into the position? I'm not sure but we may be fresh out of senior citizens who have had a hand in the current sinking ship, but if someone is left he'll probably get the job because Ralph is comfortable with him.... -
Tebow Commercial Airing During Super Bowl
The Avenger replied to OrangeJuiceSimpson's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Exactly. He's free to do what he wants, but if I were his agent I would strongly advise him to avoid controversey at all costs, especially before he's even been drafted. Beyond his football skills, part of what a team evaluates in a pick is how the player will fit in with the organization and the community as well as how much merchadising they can do with him (i.e. - will his jersey sell like hotcackes). Until you sign an NFL contract, shut up and do as little as possible to rock the boat - it can only cost you money.... -
Q: Gee coach, you're old - are you HEALTHY enough to take the job without dropping over dead? A: Yes, I think I am - my wife's after me about taking better care of myself..... PATHETIC - only in Buffalo.....
-
EXACTLY. With the same meatheads running the front office and making the decisions, I don't really care who they hired - things just aren't going to change. My only hope was that a big name like Cowher, Shanahan, etc. would have had enough power/influence to force those changes. Chan Gailey is NOT going to have the clout necessary to get rid or Modrak and Guy and as a result we are going to pick up the same busts and overpaid medicore players we've spent the last decade getting - nothing changes.

What will make you renew the NFL Sunday ticket next year
The Avenger replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills being as lackluster and pathetic as they have been for the past decade actually makes it EASIER for me to renew my Sunday Ticket. I used to take the 500 mile trek to at a game at least once - gas, tolls, food, lodging, game ticket, etc. - for the past 2 years I haven't done that and instead put that money towards my Sunday Ticket - then I can watch the games as well as wathing other, more entertaining quality games as well..... -
Thanks - I'd like some company....

Rue McClannahan to interview for Bills HC job.
The Avenger replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...and Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty are dead! Well, at least Ralph will be comfortable with them - if you want to do well in the organization it helps if you're 70+ and can remember a time when our biggest enemies were Germany and Japan.... -

You've been a Bills fan for HOW LONG?

Damn - I was rasing money to put up a meatloaf billboard...guess I'll have to send those funds to Hunters Hope now.......

I'm with you on Nickleback - always categorized them as "Butt Rock"...... I'd also nominate No Doubt - another band I think has almost no talent but certainly fits the record company formula. Have you ever listened to "Hey Baby"? Are those not the worst lyrics ever? If Gwen wasn't hot that band wouldn't be anywhere at all....

What is so bad about Buffalo?
The Avenger replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are a number of reasons Buffalo isn't the most attractive place to coach: Ownership -Owner has a reputation of meddling and being cheap (you can agree or disagree) -Owner is aged - what happens to the organization when he passes? -Cash to cap policy hurts ability to make a big splash and bring in free agents/pay top dollar to keep players - Buffalo is known as one of the lowest spending teams The Team -Lack of talent - lots of holes to fill - need quite a bit of time to get some traction -No QB - we may have a backup QB on the roster, but nobody worthy of being even a low end starter -Old Stadium with very almost no chance of getting something new (not in tough economic times, not in WNY) -Play in tough division - until we get some traction we'll continue to be NE's b**ch and wins against Miami and NYJ could get tougher -7 home games - 1 in Toronto (and the previous 2 have been UGLY) The City -Weather (Buffalo's got a bad rap, even if it is undeserved) -2nd tier city - Buffalo is not NY, Chicago or SF. It's not even Houston, Denver or Cincy. I love Buffalo, but some people want more flash/excitement/things to do. Don't get me wrong - there are plenty of PLUSES to being in Buffalo - great fans, low cost of living, genuinely nice people and places to live - but those are things you don't understand until you get here and spend time here. Remember, Jim Kelly didn't want to come to Buffalo and now I don't think you could ever get his to live anywhere else - that speaks volumes about WNY - but when you want to be a big shot in the big time the pluses may not outweight the (perceived) drawbacks to being here. -
I am assembling a coaching staff
The Avenger replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can I be the guy who radios down whether we should challenge or not challenge a given play? I'm damn quick with a Tivo remote and could be an asset to the team. As an extra bonus, I can also be the guy to call for us to quickly run up to the line and snap the ball when we get away as beneficiaries of a bad call. -
19 - I'm a serious news junkie, but I didn't give enough thought about the Kennedy election year question.....damn....

The Avenger replied to zdro22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glad to see he's got a firm hold on reality - yessiree....the Bills are a couple of players and a couple of plays a game away from being a dominant NFL force the likes of which have never been seen before.....
