Klein started in Edmunds spot for 2 games (Jets and Colts) while Edmunds was injured this year.

Klein stepped in and not only did alright, but immediately made some impact plays (tipped passes, stuffed runners, even an INT vs Carolina). And he is only getting $6M/yr which is less than HALF of what we'll be paying Edmunds going forward. I dont think Klein would be the long term solution, but if it came right down to it, I'd rather have Klein and the extra $7-8M in cap space than Edmunds. Based on his level of play, Edmunds isnt that difficult to replace.

Oh, I know you're fine with blaming it on McD, but the scheme is the scheme. Edmunds was drafted FOR this scheme. This IS the scheme for his strengths. Just like Luke Kuechly, who was drafted based on his skill set to play the same exact position in the same exact scheme, and who regularly made big, game-changing plays from pretty much day 1. Scheme isnt changing, and it isnt worth overhauling the entire defense and defensive personnel for one player. And even if we did, what exactly are Edmunds' strengths that the scheme should be adjusted to emphasize?

One thing I would not doubt regardless of whatever crazy route they come up with, the streets will be PACKED with Bills fans. It will be the entire Erie county population. Schools will close.

I have to imagine he is fine trading the torn pec for a Super Bowl ring. Hekker is getting up there, but punters can go to 40. Still a pretty decent list, and I wouldnt blame any of them. But I think Whitworth is the only one that actually retires.
