  1. Probably not. When Bills Mafia is depressed after a poor performance, there are two types of fans, people and writers. One group is like you, who tries to rise up from the depression and see what silver linings there are. There are, in fact, many. On the other hand, there are people who marinate in their grievances, and want to make everyone else miserable too. They jump into every thread, calling anyone who sees a positive a "non-realist." They love to call the team and its management stupid, soft and flaccid( no projection there). Everyone should be fired. "It is what it is" is the way of the angry world we live in. That includes Bills world. But don't give up or give in. Angry critics fix nothing, and really do nothing. Those in the arena fighting the good fight are the real warriors. Your attitude is refreshing beyond words. Keep it up!
  2. You are being kind.
  3. Give me a break. Is your name supposed to be some kind of oxymoron?
  4. Ding ***** the witch is dead-- for today!!!
  5. Denver is just giving this game away. Why do coaches loses their mind playing the Pats, like ATL and SEA in the Super Bowl. Amazing.
  6. Of course. But I think 10 wins gets you in. Only 9 in 2017.
  7. Maybe. Prediction on North seems right. 2nd in East will be competing for slot likely against Raiders and Colts, neither of which are great and Bills already beat Raiders.
  8. Looking at the schedule, Bills "should win" against @Jets, Dolphins, @Broncos and Chargers. That's 8. Should be able to win 2 or 3 of remaining 7. 10-6 11-5 could easily win division if Bills at least split with Pats. Nothing to panic about.
  9. All this doom and gloom is depressing. It was a bad game last night, but it does not wipe away the 4-0 start. A few observations-- 1. On offense, the team found itself in a hole for the first time this year. Titans were playing D that gave up underneath stuff, not readily allowing some big plays so the team could jump back in the game. So needing sustained drives, too many mistakes-- drops penalties etc. Josh overcame it sometimes, like on the first TD drive. But then he started to force things to try and change the trajectory of the game, i.e., he tried too hard and that is when he makes mistakes. Still did some good things like TD pass to Yeldon--amazing throw-- but Titans scheme and falling behind did them in. 2. Mistakes. Too many short fields for the Titans. Got a lead and never had to get out of their comfort zone. Made them seem better than they are. 3. Defense was bad. They need to fix it. They have had stretches like this every year. I recall one 3 or 4 game stretch in mid-season 2017 including the Chargers where they gave up like 130 points in three games. Losing White in particular really hurt the schemes last night. I think they can get this defense back to mediocre, which should be good enough to make a run with the potential the offense shows. 4. It really was a piss poor game. But as somebody wrote above, it is never as good or bad as it looks. Need to see a better effort against KC, even if they lose. Get the Jets after that so 5-2 playing the Pats will be fine. That game will show us if the train is on the tracks. In the meantime, don't fret too much and enjoy the ride. Hell it seems the world is falling apart some days, keep football in perspective.
  10. God, who would have thought that fans from a blue collar town could dribble down their legs after one loss and be such weenies. It's embarassing. Flush this game, move on and grow a set. Team is 4-1.
  11. Bad night. Just flush it and move on.
  12. Time for a Sunday KC game is undetermined at this time per media reports.
  13. I don't agree. The extra point makes it an 8 point game, so you get two chances to stay ahead-- prevent a TD and prevent the 2-point conversion. It's a 50-50% chance, and I'd rather force the other team to do that, because worse case scenario you are tied and have the ball. I definitely see how you feel, and thought about it at the time but thought the Bills made the right call. But of course Bass missed the PAT so....
  14. That was just excellent writing!!! Thanks for the read.
  15. The corner was still holding/engaging Davis when the ball was in the air. Makes it PI.
  16. Totally agree. If you look at the Board comments after the Philly game last year, they read much like current comments on the defense. Front is too small, big lines will run it down our throat, etc. But they fixed it last year. I'm pretty sure they will fix it again. In the meantime instead of getting blown out when the defense is down, the offense is picking the team up and getting the win. I think that is the step the team is taking from being a good team in 2019 to being really good in 2020.
  17. what a weenie
  18. I don't think they know he is the "answer" but I think they think he can be, if that makes sense. Last year was only his second year at tackle, he was a guard until his senior year. Still learning to play tackle AND then adjusting to the NFL was a daunting task. I saw enough improvement that he will get time. If something great falls into the Bills lap it may change the equation, but even good tackles are hard to find. I think he ends up being a solid RT. Dawkins worries me more. He's good enough to be an LT, but not really good enough yet. Tough position and a great guy, but he really needs to take another step up if it is to be his position long term. But finding a LT that is really good is so hard.
  19. KC defense really sucks.
  20. Totally agree. Not playing in a major college program, Josh never got any real coaching until he hit the NFL-- same is true for Oliver. That's why he was a project as he had no real training to play the most difficult position in sports. Given where he started, the kid has made remarkable strides, and I can't understand how some people can't see this. I've watched this team for 45 years, and I know a fraud from the real deal, and Allen is the real deal. His athletic ability, combined with his intelligence, determination to win, heart and charisma give him everything he needs to be great. For those that can't see that, you will eventually. He'll be more than good enough to win a SB if the rest of the team has sufficient talent. I know we live in a world of instant results and gratification, but that's not how it was ever going to be with Josh.
  21. Yeah, but the whole division has largely the same schedule. Wild card spots are for losers, need to win the division and 2020 should be the year.
  22. According to Kubiak, the kill to the run at the end of the 1/2 was the right call and would have been a big gain but there was a missed block that blew up the play. FWIW.
  23. It was a great playoff game and a tough loss. Best game of weekend from entertainment perspective IMO. Change anyone of about 10 things and Bills win-- of course Houston might say the same if we won because the game was that close. I'll try to take the what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger view. Maybe this stinging loss is what they needed to become a championship team down the road. You learn in adversity, not success. They were not good enough to win it all this year anyway IMO. So maybe this is short term extreme pain for long term gain for both the team and us fans. At least that's how I see it 20/20.
  24. I am tired and depressed today. Always been that way. I remember Ferguson limping around and getting nipped by the Chargers and I can feel bad. The tougher the loss the greater the depression. A good night's sleep and tomorrow things will be better. The future is bright for this team. But in everything I do I want to win, and the funny thing is the winning feeling is fleeting. The best thing about winning is avoiding the awful feeling when you lose, and all the "what ifs."
