  1. I'm not saying there is. I'm not excusing anything. He shouldn't have done what he did. It was illegal. He should be fined, and I wouldn't even care if he was suspended. All I'm saying is that it wasn't a cheap shot, and Favre did not try and deliberately hurt the guy. Favre doesn't give a schit about Adrian Wilson. He doesn't even know who he is.
  2. Oh I forgot, Favre has been practicing the wildcat offense since his days in Atlanta, where they also showed him how to throw a block without collapsing a lung.
  3. Wow. That league has a serious amount of bench spots.
  4. First of all, let's get the facts straight. Favre was not behind him or blocking him in the back. Second, it was an illegal block, but I don't consider it a "cheap shot." A cheap shot is when a player is deliberately trying to hurt another player, or, when a player who's perfectly capable physically and athletically of performing the legal play chooses not to, and instead perfomes the illegal play. People cut block all the time. Favre is a 40 year old brittle man, what the hell is he supposed to do, stand there? When was the last time in his 30 year career that Favre was split out wide and had to block? Never. He's inexperienced. He doesn't know what the hell he's doing when throwing a block. It was a split second decision, not something premeditated. He shouldn't have performed the illegal block, no doubt, but it certainly wasn't a "cheap shot." Edit: And you're damn right if it was a WR I'd call it a cheap shot. A physically capable player such as a WR, who also is taught how to block, should not crack back at the knees. Favre is a 40 year old QB who doesn't know any better.
  5. Yeah, he's done really well when pulling so far. With New England moving to the 4-3 with two DT's, I wouldn't suspect anything less than Belichick picking Wilfork to be the one that lines up directly over Levitre's face. Levitre would get abused if that happens.
  6. Not a cheap shot at all. Favre was not playing QB on the play. He was split out wide. He was a blocker. This is why you constantly hear people saying "keep your head on a swivel." Also, I'm not sure why more players don't anihilate the QB every time he's split out at WR in the wildcat formation. Every time they snap the ball, the DB should be hitting him. That'll stop the wildcat real quick.
  7. Really? You can't wait for that to happen? You're scaring me.
  8. Honestly, I'm worried about Levitre. I'm not sure he has the brute strength to move those big tackles off the line of scrimmage. I've been watching him closely, and he's done well against the 3-4 teams because there is no one over his face, and he mostly goes out to get one of the inside backers on running plays. He excels at that. But with the 4-3, in the run game, he seems to get no push at all, which worries me. I think if they were to make this switch, Butler would and Wood might be the better tandem for now.
  9. You did watch the wrong game. Go back and point out a sack or hurry for the first team offense that wasn't the result of the RB.
  10. I don't believe Wood and Hangartner got "blown back into Edwards." Your words are very strong. They might have gotten pushed back, but were never "blown back" into his face. That never happened. Butler did get pushed back into Edwards on the pass where Edwards' arm hit Butler's helmet, but I don't really blame Butler for that. For the most part, Woodley was under control by Butler, and Edwards saw the entire thing happen in front of him, and decided not to move, and still wind up and throw it into Butler's head anyway.
  11. That is the problem. No one can say "well maybe it was Reed's fault because he wasn't supposed to stop" or whatever. The problem is that whatever miscommunication occured, Trent still threw the ball into TIGHT double coverage. The throw should have never been made, regardless of if Reed kept going or not.
  12. On another note, Walker and Butler manhandled two of the best pass rushers in the game in Harrison and Woodley. But no one seems to be talking about that.
  13. The line's pass protection was outstanding. I went back and looked at every play. The RB's messed up a lot. Any time there was pressure, it was coming from a RB getting owned, nothing with the o-line.
  14. I was actually going to start a thread like this myself, just too lazy. I'm sick of all the negativity over scrubs and backups. If you go on any team's message board, everyone's sky is falling and season is doomed, with the exception of about 3 teams. People need to calm the fucck down.
  15. - Ellison is really playing well. Looks like he might finally be getting it. I'm impressed. - The offensive line in pass protection is actually looking outstanding. Any breakdowns the last 2 games have come from the RB's inability to pick up the blitzer. Walker and Butler have been very good. - Maybin, Bryan and Ellis look like they might all come through for a pass rush this year. Hopefully the coaching staff doesn't keep them behind Schobel, Kelsay and Denney. - Besides a few runs here and there, the Bills run defense looks vastly improved. Kyle Williams and Spencer Johnson look a lot better. - Nelson is definitely going to be a fine player for us, if not this year, then certainly next year. Nic Harris looks very good as well.
  16. Sorry, Lori. Didn't see you posted it on the first page. That thing is so funny. They do a great job with that.
  17. If Haley wants him gone, is it strictly his decision? Does he have to go through the GM?
  18. Duh. We play bad in a preaseason game and now it's time to look at QB's in the top 10 for the draft next year. We start off 4-1 and we're going to the Super Bowl. Don't get too caught up in the ridiculous ways of Bills fans. It's remarkable the constant swaying that goes on from week to week, day to day.
  19. I went to camp a lot and there were much more downfield throws and complex pass routes. In the preseason games it seems like everything is a 5 yard route. That's not what I saw at camp. They did have their fair share of checkdowns, don't get me wrong, but not like we've seen in these games.
