  1. It was Cover 1. It’s very clear on film. Watch Dorian Williams. One back set and Williams attacks down hill on the RB when he releases to his side. Andreessen doesn’t have his head on a swivel pinching down on the strong side 3 WR set because in Man on a one back set he is responsible for either the QB or the RB depending which side the RB goes. Williams takes the back and Andreessen locks onto the QB. Hamlin is 25 yards deep keeping everything over the top of them while the rest of the DBs are pressed up. The only thing interesting is it looked like they decided to switch off(Banjo it) between Bishop and the other DB. There is no way that that was zone coverage
  2. Now I’m not saying that there aren’t concerns some guys were out of position but like what I and a couple others have said, the Bills were playing 2/3s vs the Bears ones (with a few exceptions and then they were playing their 3/4s vs the Bears twos. The Bills never even gave themselves a shot at a fair fight. This was clearly a game for the Bills to establish their depth chart, to make final decisions on their last 3-5 roster spots, and who they feel is worthy of keeping around on their PS. It’s also not a true picture of a player in a game scenario either for the regular season. As an example let’s bring up Joe Andreessen. I think we’d all agree he looked realllyyyyy bad last night and he did. I think we can also agree that this was the first time that Andreessen looked completely out of his depth. Well why would that be? Did he have a really bad night? I mean that’s possible for sure. Could it also be that he didn’t have Matt Milano next to him and Ed Oliver/Greg Rousseau in front of him and a healthy secondary behind him I think that’s a more likely scenario
  3. Yea that’s my bad it’s more about trying to highlight that the Bills were working and experimenting last night on things they may or may not want to do later. There were also about 4-5 zone blitzes by the Bills where DL were dropping into coverage I noticed. The Bills were very unserious about this game while the Bears were trying to establish the stuff they want to run during the season . It was very un pretty to watch for sure but you could see it really from play 1 on
  4. I love these clips because it shows a lot of things. First Bishop doesn’t usually line up in the slot. First clip was cover 1, Looks like Bishop and the other DB decide to Banjo cover it and Bishop bites to hard on the outside move and gets beat hard inside. 2nd clip Bishop just gets beat by Odunze on an out route. Again we won’t see Bishop a ton in the slot playing man. The 3rd clip Latu is actually the right read. The LBs switch it off and actually Moore makes a mistake. Bills call a mesh which is a man beater but Moore keeps running into the defender versus sitting down in the vacant space and finally settles in front of the the LB The Hancock play in the run game is nice but the two DTs get washed 4 yards back right off the snap
  5. It was man coverage, they were in cover 1 on that play
  6. I mean I get it but there’s no gameplan , it’s clear the Bills didn’t care about this game besides getting through it healthy. Multiple good teams have been blown out. The Packers lost by 20 to the Jets and the Chiefs weren’t competitive in week 2 either. We lost by 27 to the Bears just last year and were a mistake or two away from the Super Bowl. They were doing things they will rarely do in the regular season.
  7. Yup I tried to say the same thing in the thread but no one wants to hear it. The Bears literally had veterans of the NFL who started games like Bagent, Bates etc playing in the game with high upside guys like Burden and Austin Booker in the game versus guys who won’t be here in two weeks . Even starting the game there was a very heavy rotation of bottom of the roster guys playing versus their starters. Bishop and Hamlin were bad but it’s kind of hard to be good when Andreessen was awful in Coverage and Jenkins was the other starting LB who won’t make the team etc
  8. The Bills had no desire to do anything last night. There were multiple times they were playing the Leslie Frazier off coverage on 3rd and 3 or playing press man cover 1 and there were about 4 or 5 times they ran a basic zone blitz where they dropped D lineman into coverage and left them on an island. They wanted to try things last night and put it on film
  9. My only thing about the Shenault/Codrington thought is not the WR/DB debate and who can play more/better at their respective position but whether Shenault can play the other two STs at a high level even Codrington can’t. To me that might be the difference. I find the fact that Codrington started even over guys like Hardy, Couch etc was interesting. Like they wanted to see if he could provide anything other than return ability. I also find it interesting how buried Hardy has become since last year and has had zero returns
  10. Glad to see your doing well Jimmy
  11. I’ll be honest, a team is allowed to do what they want but I’m kind of annoyed that the Bears have brought the house on defense numerous times in a preseason game that the Bills clearly gave no care about. They have been doing it all second half on the Bills grocery baggers
  12. I kind of agree on the Codrington point. I think tonight was a chance for him to show his value beyond being a KR/PR which is why he was playing DB first snap on. He obviously failed at it tonight. Think he might be on the outs I’ll have to think about it but Shenault might bring more value not necessarily at WR but playing the other 2 STs when he’s not returning
  13. Greatest comeback in preseason history here we come!
  14. Same game you are boss, but you’re also the guy who freaks about everything during the regular season GDT. They look bad sure but it’s a preseason game where you know the Bills have won a lot of games the past couple of years . Allow me not to panic about Brandon Codrington, Zion Logue, Jenkins, Dane Jackson, Tre Herndon etc are playing the whole game. The Bishop TD was was bad , he looked bad for sure but the Bills were playing Cover Zero which I just don’t see them doing a ton during the regular season so allow me not to panic about it. They tried it a couple of times and got burnt by it . They have picked on Andreessen who I know is a great story and will make the roster but is at best LB # 4 on this roster
  15. Woof Shavers had him beat bad and White couldn’t lay it on him
  16. So it’s a preseason game where most of the guys who played the whole game for the Bills will be end of the roster or not in the NFL in two weeks
  17. I saw him in the last game playing late and he looked like he had horrendous technique which is expected for a guy who obviously should be raw
  18. Again there is a difference when our backups are mostly the guys we’re going to cut vs the Bears backups who are NFL rotational players. Luther Burden is going to play a lot of snaps, Bagent has started games. Ryan Bates is playing OL right now for the Bears, Austin Booker is going to be in their DLine rotation as a pass rusher. That’s still a fairly significant difference compared to Paris Shand and Jacob Bayer etc
  19. Oh I agree, at least there is effort and penetration and some level of pass rush. That’s more than I’ve seen from the rest of the roster tonight
  20. The best Bills player I’ve seen tonight, and it’s not saying much has been Landon Jackson
  21. It’s still not the same. Bills are playing guys who are doing to be cut backups vs Bears backups that are good. Bagent, Burden, Booker, Smythe etc are all going to be big contributors. I mean Ryan Bates is on the Bears Oline right now
  22. Lundt got suckered on that sack. He hasn’t looked good inside
  23. Hawes had a really good down block there so that’s something lol
  24. Man Dane Jackson is done. I know a lot of guys are getting toasted but he’s king toast and Herndon didn’t help much either
