  1. Aren't there 6 other rounds and free agency? If we were ever fortunate enough for Williams to be there at #8, we take him. Period. This guy is a difference maker.
  2. I know. What's he thinkin'? We have the wonderful JP.
  3. Truth be told, he can't grow one.........a very ominous sign.
  4. (with ears covered) LALALALALALALA......I can't hear you...LALALALALALA.....everyone wants to be a Bill......LALALALALALA
  5. I'm with you, brother. I'm not knocking the Splendid Splinter, I'm a big fan myself. Though I haven't read his book, I've often heard how others have benefitted from his teachings. You're proof of that. He done learned you somethin'....which is pretty cool. Must've been nice taking his "word" to the field of play and making it work for you. That's good stuff.
  6. I will look for that. Hey, no doubting MS is a fiery competitor who was an all-time great. And, by the way, I wouldn't mind having that "fire" on our sidelines. Maybe with some seasoning......
  7. I would agree with you if the old regime were still in place. Since they're not, the new staff may not feel the same about JP. They've changed coaches which also means they're changing philosophies. I don't pretend to know their thinking here, but maybe, just maybe they're not enamored with the kid. We shall see. They won't necassarily wait for him to develope just because of his draft status if they're not sold on his game. If they're not, IF, then cut loose however the best way possible and get someone in here they do believe in and lets get busy winning some football games.
  8. While I agree with much of what you have stated, I was just trying to imply that "greatness" on the field doesn't necassarily translate to the coaching.
  9. Good post. We've all heard the Favre comparisons. When I think Losman, I think David Carr. Talent, but no QB instinct. Hell, he has that bad Carr hairdo going too. Not that that matters.....
  10. Seems to be an important ingredient......just ask Bart Starr, Ted Williams and Isaiah Thomas...
  11. What? ..........an overpaid coordinator?
  12. The fact that I've seen them both play, my opinion is that Volek could handle a starting job. Nothing more than watching them both play. That's it. I can't give you the "X's and O's ", just that I think Volek would a fine job from week 1-16. Holcomb being the perfect backup. I wouldn't call you ignorant for that.
  13. Why don't you start a poll asking that very question? That was an awfully arrogant statement. Please, feel free to disagree with someone, just get over yourself. It's akin to everyone agreeing with every post you've ever made. Or are you as brilliant as you make yourself out to be?
  14. Is it that you can't stand a varied opinion, or is it that you think JP is that terriffic? It's just a different view. Don't get so uptight about it. It's not that important.
  15. We're on the the same page. I'd love to fortify our OL and bring in a Billy Volek type. I don't care that JP was selected in the first round. That means nothing. IMO, I just don't get "that" good feeling about JP. Obviously, others do and that's fine. We can, and I'm certain we will, throw him into a competition and he might win it. If it's possible, I'd rather go with someone more established so we can hit the ground running. Just a different philosophy. That's all.
  16. Who cares where he was drafted? I'll take Fitz and a 2nd rounder and go with Holcomb. We'll fortify ourselves elsewhere. Hell put the right OL in place and then go get me Collins. The Raiders are bound to part ways with him.
  17. Sorry, my man.........couldn't resist....all in good fun.
  18. OOOOOK........but aren't you being a little hardon yourself?
  19. Who said Fitz had to replace JP as the starter? Grab a valuable extra 3rd rounder (or who knows...possibly 2nd is what I'd be asking) and play Holcomb, who I anticipate being better next year anyway. We've got options. The more I think of it, the more I like it. Guess I'm just not as sold on JP as many are.
  20. Oh right, he wasn't drafted so he couldn't possibly get any better. Considering this kid had virtually no preperation time, I'm not so sure he couldn't be adequate with the right OL and a coach already familiar with him. You don't have to like the proposal, but don't discount it because the kid wasn't drafted. Unless you see some unsubstantiated upside with JP, I would CONSIDER it. I'm not one that thinks JP is the "end-all" with or without the proper OL. All I know is that with the way this team sits, another #3 this year would look awfully good.
  21. I like what I saw from him in spot duty last year. He's certainly smart enough, Harvard I believe. Add a 3rd in this particular draft you propose, and I could be swayed. Though, I'm not sure why St Louis would do this.
  22. It's the Denver OL as a whole that is good. I think it's more the system than the player. Bring over the whole unit and now you're talkin'.
  23. Agreed. I think White will be the best workhorse of the group coming out. Teams interested in him will want to move up right around #8.
