Yes, probably, but I'll take reliably competent and plays with aggression at G over what we've had there for years it seems. Not only do they appear to never settle on a coherent approach to the line, they so value versatility (I understand why it is important) that the end result has been less than mediocre folks manning most of the spots and barely decent oline play as the ceiling for the units they've put out there. Hopefully this will change starting now.

I wouldn't call him a bum. I think he's underperformed his draft status, but he's better than many of his detractors allow. Until he got hurt, he was a disruptive force which has meaning even if it doesn't result in a sack. And as a person, I like him. Hopefully, he has a great contract year.

2023 Bills' schedule, thou art a scurvy wretch, consorting with mammals pretending to be fish, ancient hippies, and known cheaters from Boston. Gallivanting across the seas for a tryst with the pseudo-London team, not to mention once again hanging out with Ratface on the road. The worst fans in sport reside in Philly, so naturally you insist on visiting that den of boorish louts. And then, you choose to bring those mutant Raiders home when you could have partied in Vegas. Honestly, you are a dim. Ah, why relate the entire litany of your sins? Away thou rag, thou quantity, thou remnant.

Next you fellas can wager on whether Poona gets more snaps as a 1 or 3T. Should be some fascinating lengthy discussion. Be sure to cuss at him.

Too much amiability. You two are making me sick.

Rumor Josh Allen break up/ reason for losing to cinci
Dr. Who replied to Jamone's topic in The Stadium Wall
This entire thread is obnoxious and redundant. The OP is too dim to be ashamed. Your story is boring. You're going to have to make something up. I suggest you bring in the Smoking Man from the old X-file series. Aliens interest a lot of folks, so that might sell. -
Dropping out of the top 5 is more than that. It's an over-correction with a touch of contempt for small market Buffalo, but who cares, really? It will only fuel Allen and Co.

It's a really interesting and diverse WR room. I'm fairly confident the middle of the oline will be improved and it has better depth. That in itself may contribute to better tackle play. We've talked about concern regarding RT especially, but this could be a very dangerous and unpredictable offense that threatens every area of the field.

We may have similar tastes in movies. The Night of the Hunter is a unique film. Laughton synthesized many different elements. I write experimental fiction that tries to do similar things. It's hard to find an audience, but critical reception for Laughton's singular film has increased over the years. Below is a fine article that explains the allure and quality of the work. https://www.slashfilm.com/1130769/the-night-of-the-hunter-ending-explained-the-age-old-battle-between-love-and-hate/

She looks like a femme fatale, but she doesn't act like one. She's a faux femme fatale.

That's a great movie with many terrific performances: Charles Laughton and Elsa Lancaster in addition to Dietrich in particular. It's an adaptation of an Agatha Christie play. Femme fatale usually is an element in the noir genre, which I generally dislike. Two of the more classic roles are Lana Turner in The Postman Always rings Twice and Jane Greer in Out of the Past. I very much like Mary Astor who is deliciously bad in The Maltese Falcon. The modern films many here reference seem to me lacking. When classic Hollywood had to use indirection because of the Hays Code, it often created much more interesting characters.

At this point, that is perhaps the most likely chance, though neither Edwards nor Bates seems like a strong RT alternative to me. It's still possible somebody gets cut that can be brought in as competition or that Doyle recovers from injury and ends up a viable alternative. Maybe the UDFA Gouraige that played with Torrence is a nice surprise. Someone mentioned bringing in Cameron Fleming who is still a FA. To me, not bringing in someone as better competition for Brown is hubris, nearly inexplicable, the one glaring weakness in an otherwise strong offseason for Beane -- and naturally, I hope Brown turns the corner and is great.

Isaiah Simmons might be an answer for the Bills at MLB
Dr. Who replied to gjv's topic in The Stadium Wall
I definitely had heard of him. I saw a number of Tulane games because I have a soft spot for the Green Wave. In addition, he was always sticking out as the best available on way too many mock draft simulations that I ran. After a while, I got annoyed and just ignored him, but I guess Beane decided to go ahead and take him anyway. On this board, the selection was initially met with almost universal disdain as a repeat of the Bernard pick. There was a corrective swing of the pendulum. Maybe it's gone too far, but I think he has a chance to develop into a good player. At minimum, I think he sees the field in some capacity. -
I personally hope Morse has a few years left in him, but that's a plausible take.

They certainly spent money on McGovern as if they have him evaluated a lot higher than you have. If he is the player you think, why sign him at all when you already have Bates on the team? I don't claim to be an expert, certainly not with regards to olinemen who one typically notices more often than not when they fail which has to be a miserable aspect of the position. I normally rely on @MrEpsYtown and @GunnerBill for establishing a baseline for my own amateur judgments. My guess has been that McGovern is a capable starter type by their lights with better pass protection capacity than Saffold which is not a hard bar to beat. I'm willing to wait and see if they are right.

Well done. You're definitely an all-star on this board in my book. Folks make fun of Walterfootball, but they're not bad even though it is a terrible website. -
Beane: “working on at least 2 veteran UFA’s”
Dr. Who replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
RT and Edge worry me more than MLB. Somehow I think they are going to scheme the LB situation into something reasonably effective. And I suspect Von comes back relatively early and plays well, but one can't know that I suppose. -

Hey! I mean really. I did write a dissertation on Dostoevsky. Just because Russian novels are long, that's just a coincidence. -

Well, I just perused a few to get a sense of your oeuvre. It appears pretty eclectic. I must say my sister owns several peacock and the great Flannery O'Connor did as well. I'll have to ask sister if they are as annoying as you say. -
In retrospect it can all appear an utterly foolish dream, but I still understand the kind of romantic idealism that caused that journey in the first place. More often than not it hides under the guise of bitterness, alas. American pragmatism doesn't see the point of it. Anyway, be well fellow sufferer, and yes, let's go Buffalo!
