I'm going to guess you've never lived here.

Yeah, this guy posting messages on twitter an hour before his death caused the winds that blew over the scissor lift. Classy post. And yes, he should have refused to go up there, but he's 20 years old for god's sake and in college. I'm going to bet he needed the money, and knew he'd be fired if he didn't do it. Dude, stop being an !@#$. There's a reason why scissor lifts aren't supposed to be used in winds that high, and to do so is a safety violation.

I'm with this guy. *If* (and this is a big if) Fitz can keep it up, you've gotta build around him. And I agree that a lot of the success is Chan. I don't think it's a coincidence that Fitz's best week is after the bye week. That's both part Chan's badass coaching and Fitz's badass smarts. I don't think Fitz is the most physically talented QB, but he's supremely confident, and given the time to sit down with a coach, he can work it out. I was a little bummed at first, but I get the feeling that Gailey/Nix were a little overwhelmed at first. That's not necessarily a downfall on their part, I think *anyone* would have been overwhelmed with this franchise. Look at Gailey's frustration after like week #4, it was pretty obvious. My feeling is that these guys are learning how to fight the powers that be and mold a football team at the same time. I also don't think that it's a coincidence that the line looks better once Fitz takes over, or that Fitz is better in Gailey's system. I also don't think QB is the biggest need anymore (and this is something I've been preaching and was dead wrong about). That being said, those are my *current* feelings. I think we need the rest of the season to validate them. I'm hoping it happens, and if so, the Bills are a bunch of linebackers away from really competing. The one thing that still hurts is the Kelsay extension, but hopefully he is cool with taking a backseat when they get other guys.

Uh.... they do go after them.

So, your wife finds out you went to a strip club...

Haha, the fiance doesn't give a damn. Personally, I think it's boring. I'd much rather go to a bar and talk with friends about work & life. Yeah, there's naked chicks. I can see that on the internet for free. -

I thought of that too, but the precision is so precise I'm not sure you need really exaggerated head moves to do it.

The lack of buttons doesn't limit what you can do at all. Over on Gizmodo's reports from talking with some of the Microsoft guys, they aren't viewing Kinect as completely replacing controllers, but to be used in conjunction with them. One example they gave was using your head to look around while playing an FPS. They didn't want to talk specifics, but there's lots of stuff like that they can do. Microsoft's banking on streaming & downloading being the way of the future, getting rid of discs entirely. I think it's probably a pretty damn good bet. That's not to say that Blu-ray won't be around a while, but myself - I'd much rather have everything streamed over the net than having to deal with storage or discs. Fable 2 was fantastic. However, if you like Baldur's Gate, did you try playing Dragon Age? It was supposed to be Bioware's spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate, and was a pretty fantastic game in it's own right.

Case in point, fallout new vegas. It has AA enabled on the 360 but not the ps3. Both uverse support and espn 3 land on november 4ths dashboard update I think. Yeah, I don't have any problems with the xbox live community either. Personally, I think xbox live gives an all around better experience than the psn. for me, xbox is a good fit. Rich online media, the games I want to play, and solid online experience. I'm excited about the kinect launch next week. I preordered a new xbox slim with kinect and a 250 gb hd. Starting next week, I'm going to be able to play games, stream movies, watch espn 3, watch uverse tv, access my dvr and pause/record/etc, access twitter and facebook, and stream content from my pc and phone all to one box. Oh yeah, and with kinect, I'll be able to control it all with my voice and gestures. Pretty sweet setup!

Both companies have said they are expecting about 5 more years out of this generation than last and are going to be releasing new consoles around the same time.

It's pretty clearly sexual harassment, which is a fairly serious crime in any workplace. -

Dean, I actually like the stock Android browser better than anything else out there. I keep Opera around just in case something doesn't work with the stock browser, but I rarely (if ever) open it. I've needed it like maybe once since July. First, install Barcode Scanner from the market so you can scan QR codes. These are starting to show up all over (including Best Buy on store shelf tags now). I'll link you to site with QR codes for various things, and it'll load that software right up in the market instead of having to search for it. What I use: - LauncherPro: http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/google-android/articles/80554.aspx - Google Maps/Navigation - Google Places - Google Goggles - Google Sky Map - Buzzbox: http://www.buzzbox.com/page/android - Google Earth - Google Translate - Evernote: http://www.evernote.com/about/download/android.php - Amazon - Tasker: http://tasker.dinglisch.net/ - Google Voice - WordFeud FREE (scrabble clone you can play vs others): http://mobiputing.com/2010/08/wordfeud-free-scrabble-or-words-with-friends-clone-for-android/ - Weather & Toggle Widget: http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-androidapps-widget-weather2-pEp.aspx - Facebook - Twitter - Google Talk - Euchre (Free) - HP iPrint Photo (allows me to print photos directly to my wireless hp printer at home) - Gmail - Stock Exchange Support - Stock Calendar - Filkie Wallpapers HD - Compass - Alchemy (game) - OpenSpark (Xbox Live) - The Onion - NPR - U-Verse Mobile -
New Iphone can do everything but make phone calls
Chilly replied to Fingon's topic in Off the Wall Archives
As long as you have the tools and an internet walkthrough, they usually aren't that hard to switch out. A buddy of mine did it on a blackberry of my coworker's once. I watched it - took him like 5 minutes. -

Yep, phones can make a huge difference in signal. A lot of the modern smart phones actually get worse signal than less-fancy phones. Also, AT&T at least usually lets you upgrade your phone as long as you sign a new 2-year-contract ont hose types of situations. I just replaced one for $50 less than what they were selling it for an AT&T store with 1-year left on my contract just by calling them up and asking what they could do for me. -

Cellular South uses Verizon for out of region national coverage. For the southeast region, they use their own cell towers. -

There's a ton of Android phones with physical keyboards. And with Swype, you really don't need it. Ugh, the Blackberry platform has a *terrible* web browser and the "entertainment" options on it blows. Is it really that hard to hit the "phone" icon and then dial? -
I guess you guys don't know how ratebeer works. It's all based off of user feedback from beer enthusiasts. You can sign up for an account and go vote if you want. Most of the user base is American, so it's going to be more heavily slanted toward that.
