  1. Because Ron Paul voted for them, amirite?
  2. In a way, yes, but I don't see it as all that prevalent outside of the media and the extremes.
  3. Hmm? The only two I see on that list that are currently anything other than active players are Jerry Gray and Alan Lowry (both coaches now). The dates refer to the time that they were at UT. Hopefully he'll continue to want to play football.
  4. Not necessarily. Could be as simple as not nominating anyone to the FEC. "So many people"? How many is that? I can't say I've ever heard anyone describe Kerry or Obama as a "babykiller" before your post. There's a difference between fault (e.g. I don't agree with the candidate's policy on this issue) and missing reality (e.g. I support so and so even though reality doesn't match the rhetoric).
  5. Well, part of it is marketing to convince people of your side, and part of it is manipulating rules.
  6. So it's a marketing problem.
  7. Neither. Gooooooooo tie!
  8. Should they be?
  9. Take a look at all the inactives and how long they've been in the league.
  10. Essentially, and correct me if I'm wrong, you have an issue with the marketing tactics that political parties in the US use. Most evidence shows that the American electorate is much more compromising than polarizing.
  11. I, too, wrote part of my post poorly. I didn't mean the other part necessarily directed at you, but was a general comment on the situation and my feelings on it. Sorry for the confusion.
  12. While I agree with much of what you posted, I wouldn't necessarily say its because he "has always been an athletic freak". Texas primarily runs a shotgun, one-read offense (both during Vince's era here and the current Colt McCoy era). I think most Texas QBs are going to have issues transferring to the pros. You mean all of these?
  13. Are you sure, Bill? Did you read the "study" and methodology? Do you understand where the disagreement was? It wasn't that people were against doing a better job of acquiring a lineman, it was this notion that if you draft 1st and 2nd round DTs at a certain rate, it is the most important step in being successful at the draft. Many posters said that Stroud would make a huge difference for everyone. I think you have to understand that if you understand the interactions between the positions. You keep saying this about AKC. You might want to put a clarification in there on specific subjects, because it sure as hell isn't true if you argue with him about statistics.
  14. lol, according to the headline, it was "Titans QB Steve Young"
  15. I'd be interested in seeing the numbers of first week results vs overall season finish. I imagine the first week is the least reliable in predicting the outcome of the season.
  16. Whitner played excellently. He caused a couple sacks with penetration as well on some blitzes. Hopefully he'll continue to show that he's a versatile player thsi year. Actually, Bill, AKC wasn't all that impressed by the Stroud pickup. And remember, his theory is about drafting defensive tackles, not trading for them or signing them.
  17. To be fair, his "conduct on news, blogs, etc." didn't happen until after the 4-hour getaway. I agree with UConn James in the sense that it is absolutely ridiculous that we will be getting lots of speculation and questioning of the guy's mental state over a 4-hour session of getting away from it all. If this type of thing made you mentally unstable or insane, I know several people who should be locked up in a loony bin for having this type of thing as an outlet. There is no doubt that he's struggling with his transition to the NFL, and I'm sure its been painful for him. Getting away from it all after an extremely poor day aint crazy or anything else.
  18. Holt's performance screwed me and caused a loss.
  19. I wasn't saying that you were lying, I was simply saying that it was silly to believe what he said at face value.
  20. Big thanks to everyone that made the tailgate possible, it was really damn fun!
  21. Yep. Elections are trending toward being more stable, not less stable, and have been going that way since the mid-70s realignment.
  22. How the hell is this thread still going?
  23. at above. I love irony.
  24. Uh, the "two-party depth grip" is a side effect of the political system. We will always consolidate to two parties unless we change the constitution. Journalism? Olbermann doesn't do Journalism, he does Entertainment. MSNBC is continuing the trend of merging the two.
  25. Yup. Also, relax people, the race will tighten backup, and be close come November. It always does. The media wants you to think there is a lot of variation between elections, so they can keep continuing to sell their product.. There isn't.
