  1. Agreed, they should have taken Brown instead of Preston in the 4rth.
  2. The Houston Chronicle reports that the Vikings are on the verge of acquiring Sage Rosenfels from the Texans in exchange for a fourth-round pick. This trade was nearly made last year, but Houston balked when the Vikes offered only a third-round choice. The Texans wanted a second-rounder. Rosenfels, 31 in March, would immediately become the favorite to start in Minnesota if the deal is completed. The aggressive passer is considered a strong fit for the West Coast offense coach Brad Childress runs. If AP gets any help from the passing game-watch out!
  3. Apparently, Taylor and Stroud worked out together last off-season. Quote from Jacksonville Jags site: Stroud trained harder than ever in south Florida with Jaguars running back Fred Taylor. "He busted his butt," Taylor said. "Versus us, I don't wish him much success. But against anyone else, I just want him to get back to the Pro Bowl-caliber player I know he is. That's why I pushed him extra hard this offseason."
  4. Mead: send the man some wine!
  5. In what order do you like them?
  6. Thanks for your "illogical" response. Preston was the 4rth true center taken that year, Brown was taken just a few picks later by the Ravens. How you drew that I thought the Bills or any team should have taken Brown before the 4rth round I do not know. The fact is Preston was not evaluated as worthy to be a 4rth round pick at the time of the draft and his play has reinforced that consensus. Brown on the other hand was a very solid selection in the 4rth round.
  7. Unfortunately being inept at is what put them in this position. They have a collective inability to evaluate offensive line prospects and specifically the center position. Jason Brown and Duke Preston were in the same draft class. Brown was a highly touted prospect, Preston was not. Who did the Bills choose, even though both were available when they used their pick on Preston? I filed that pick under the category of, they must know something others don't. The problem is whenever I file a player under that category they turn out to be a bust.
  8. We have only one spot left. Draft begins next Tuesday. Go over to the TBD Baseball board to sign up.
  9. good comment on Pettigrew from footballsfuture.com: Brandon Pettigrew, this year’s consensus number one tight end, needed three runs to affirm himself as a 4.8 athlete. More alarming then his slow time, which was almost expected, was his sluggish starts in all of his 40 yard dashes. It didn’t really seem as if he had a great technique for the 40. This could mean two things. For one, he’s a much faster athlete on the field and runs precise routes, so this shouldn’t be a mark against his abilities in the passing game. Secondly, teams in the second half of the first round must really have enjoyed his performance. If they’re confident in what they see on the game tape, they’re hoping this 40 yard dash could slide him into their laps. Don’t count on him lasting past pick 20 because not too many people were expecting 4.6’s out of him and they still loved him.
  10. Quote from Wade Phillips when we traded for Rob Johnson in February of 1998. Bills Coach Wade Phillips said: ''This guy has a great future in the league. We started forward with a new era. This isn't the Marv Levy-Jim Kelly era. Hopefully, this is the Wade Phillips-Rob Johnson era.'
  11. He probably does, but when the player Jacksonville picked with the 4rth rounder in the deal (Tavian Banks) rushed for only 222 yards in his career with only 1 TD and was out of the league after 2 years, it softened the blow of losing that pick. Fred Taylor on the other hand has been a beast throughout his career (despite injuries). That being said, if you followed the draft at the time, and were aware of what our needs were, I think we would have used the 9th pick on Tra Thomas(OT), who ultimately was chosen by the Eagles at #11.
  12. The Providence Journal reports that the Patriots and Bills have emerged as the "top landing spots" for free agent Fred Taylor. New England could view Taylor as a Corey Dillon-type addition who could battle Sammy Morris and Laurence Maroney for early-down carries. Buffalo is concerned with Marshawn Lynch's availability for next season following his arrest on three gun charges. It's worth noting that Bills head coach Dick Jauron was on the Jaguars' staff when Taylor was drafted in 1998. Feb. 21 - 2:06 pm et Source: Providence Journal
  13. People either seem to love or hate U2- and then within their fan base (like other groups) their seems to be a split about when they put out their best music. For me- this is my favorite since Achtung Baby as its a bit experimental with Eno and Lanois heavily involved in its production. Their previous two albums, I liked, but they could put ones like that out for the next twenty years without any effort. This album stretches their limits a bit and isn't quite so safe. It's also great to headphone music....even though right now I'm listening to it through my Ipod dock. I can't wait to see them in concert later this year!!
  14. A 5 star review in Rolling Stone Rolling Stone and a 5 star review from In Space No One Can Hear! I have all their albums and this one is already is one of my favorites. IMHO, it's the best music they have put out in quite awhile and I can't wait to see them perform some of their new songs live.
  15. What is this google that you speak of? You mean you can put Alex Mack's name in it and find out more about him?
  16. The Panthers placed the franchise tag on Julius Peppers. With T Jordan Gross signing a six-year deal Thursday, the Panthers are able to keep their best two young talents. For now. Peppers is due $17 million and wants out, so the Panthers are expected to seek a trade. He should attract a Jared Allen-like package as the Draft nears, but Carolina should exhaust all chances to keep him. Ultimately, it's their call despite his tough talk. 19. The Titans will place the franchise tag on free agent TE Bo Scaife by 4PM ET Thursday, according to NFL.com's Adam Schefter. Wednesday's extension with Rob Bironas freed up the Titans to keep their top pass-catching tight end. Scaife would've looked good in a Falcons uniform, but only costs $4.462 million to franchise. The move will also make L.J. Smith and Jerramy Stevens the top two free agent TEs on the market. Feb. 19 - 8:32 am et
  20. If you are interested, please go to the baseball board to sign up. Thanks!
  21. 12. Buffalo — RB Marshawn Lynch — There’s enough talent to suggest he can have a good year or two, like Willis McGahee did, but I think Lynch’s problems will lie elsewhere. His character has been considered a little different by some NFL types, and he might not ever work out in Buffalo. And like McGahee, he could end up with another team after 3-4 years. Linky

  23. Man arrested for using stores internet access (he was sitting in his car, in the stores parking lot) Another arrest has been made over someone leeching a WiFi network without authorization, this time in Michigan. The leecher could have faced a five-year prison sentence and a $10,000 penalty but won't since it's his first offense.
