I think Covington once had 17 tackles in one game, or something crazy like that. He was VERY hard to block. Holocek was also a top notch player and was only drafted late because of college injuries. He played well for a while but his body gave out. Same with Cowart. I remember that we lost virtually all of our LBs really close together. I think there was a game against Tampa Bay where there were multiple very serious injuries. Many young fans just don't know what we had to endure.

Decent? I suppose but he had several poor drafts. I think that his best move as the Bills GM was to bring in Bryce Paup as a free agent. Butler did have what I consider to be a very good draft in 1995. Sadly, several of these players got seriously injured and it hurt their careers. Kerner and Irvin were good corners imo, especially Kerner. Holecek was very good but constantly injured, and Darrick was fantastic for a 7th round pick.

Justin Fields confirms epilepsy rumor
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks but not really lol. I have followed the Tide for many years so sometimes I am in tune with what happens down there. I think that Cam will start the season for NE and will probably suck. Although he is exceptionally smart, Mac might need a year to learn the program. Remember, he only had 17 college starts. NE alo drafted DT Christian Barmore. If he keep his head on straight he will be a monster at DT. Miami took Jaylen Waddle who is a mega talented WR, He is going to score lots of touchdowns if healthy. It's a good thing the Bills are so talented. They should be able to handle their division, and perhaps anybody else! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
If they gave me a fortune My treasure would be small I could lose it all tomorrow And never mind at all But if I should lose your love, dear I don't know what I'll do For I know I'll never find another you

Bills 2021 Draft - Overall Assessment
Bill from NYC replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that Landon Dickerson would have been a perfect fit forthe Bills but if my friend (a Miami Fan) is right about Rousseau (and I have no reason to doubt him), we made the right move. When people are fans of, and focus closely on one college team, I pay close attention. For instance, do you think that there is much going on at OSU that @YoloinOhioand @Willyville Guydon't know about? -
Bills 2021 Draft - Overall Assessment
Bill from NYC replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I had never seen any of them play before yesterday. That said, someone whose opinion I have tons of respect for told me that Rousseau is a very talented player who can rush the passer, therefore I am very happy with the pick. 3 blockers in one draft? Utterly fantastic. Our OL doesn't suck like it used to but there are no great players on it either imo. The Bills could use some competition and depth when it comes to protecting Josh. Maybe one of them will be great. Who knows? I voted B but would have voted B+ had there been the option, and will change it to an A if I can. -
What was your worst take ever?
Bill from NYC replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand what you are saying, but our front office used to be JUST SO BAD that many posters were correct more often than our GMs. Many, if not a big majority of our early draft selections were flat out stupid in those days. -

Bro, that is tough to beat!!! 😀 However, I was sure that Rob Johnson was the answer to all of our quarterback woes and that he would lead us deep into the post season. 😕 Absolutely!!!! -

They played and defeated Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Did LSD make a comeback? -
TSW Mock Draft 2.0 - Complete!!
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no doubt that Leatherwood will be a good player. None. It does however look like our suspicions about Barmore might be accurate. He has far too much talent to have not been selected in round 1. His personality issues must be common knowledge. The truth is, he should have stayed in school. Alabama will have the best defense we have seen in a very long time this year and the kid could have raised his draft position, just like Leatherwood did. -
TSW Mock Draft 2.0 - Complete!!
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure that they consulted their Tide players about this kid. Leatherwood is a winner. He is very intelligent and close friends with Mac Jones. If he needs any correction on his footwork or strength, he will do the necessary work to get better. I really do wish that he was there at 30. Some mocks had him going in round 2. I knew better, but only because I watched him from his first college game. -

Do you trust this Front Office?
Bill from NYC replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are not many things or people or things in this world that I would trust 100%, let alone something that concerns football. I am an Alabama Crimson Tide Fan. Nick Saban invented the term, and the method of the "process," not Sean McDermott and; I can't say that I even trust Saban (and his 7 National Championships) 100%. Look, they (or at least McDermott) traded the pick that landed Mahomes and drafted a corner. They could have drafted Watson too but in light of his problems I will give them a pass on him. That said, if we didn't get Josh the following year we would probably still suck. Do you think that they were planning on getting Josh a year later? I do not. I do like the McBeane combo. I prefer Beane to McDermott, but that was not the question. Do I trust them 100%? Of course not. I have seen the Bills make too many mistakes to give them my blind trust. I would probably be a happier person (or at least I might be) if I had the ability to open my eyes every morning and trust everything and everybody. No can do. The good news is that this site is better than it has been in years and it was never bad. I always thank SDS and the mods, but now I want to make it a point to thank the posters. Y'all made this a great lead up to draft and a great off season. Thank you, end of rant. -
What was the name of the pass rushing DE that we got years ago from the Chargers? He was GREAT in San Diego but when we got him he must have quit taking steroids. He might even have had a psychiatric problem or two and a substance issue, along with an injury. I was excited when we signed him; this guy could go get the QB big time until he came here. Does anyone remember who I'm referring to?

Thanks so much for your great work GB!!! I see that you have come around big time on Kyle Pitts. He is a freak imo, and some team is about to get VERY lucky! -
Call your shot: Who will the Bills pick in the 1st round?
Bill from NYC replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Asante Samuel CB. If he is gone they will take the next corner up. Bank on it. -

Gunner's 2021 Draft Quarterback Evaluations
Bill from NYC replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's all cool. I too think that Tyrod was about average because of his mobility. The 87 threw me off. No harm intended. 👍 -

Hold on.....you rate him at 87 and say at the same time that he will be comparabe to Tyrod Taylor. I don't know, do you want to re-think this? 😉
