But let's not leave out the fact that Dallas marched right down the field next possession and scored to make it 28-7 end of the half. And from there on we scored no more points. Whoa, bro, I never said the Jets receivers were better than ours. Nor was I even coming close to comparing theres to ours. I agree with you our offensive personnel are solid and as a whole our offense is better than the Jets. I was simply saying that yes while the Jets receivers do drop balls a LOT, when they are on, they do play well and are opportunistic as was proven when they torched our injury plagued secondary. I also like chandler, but I would still like us to draft a stud TE who can block and run quick routes like a receiver. Imagine having a guy like Jimmy Graham on our offense in addition to everything we have. I also agree with you that our OC is incompetent and I'm wondering why Marrone brought him along to the NFL. He went out and hired a proven guy on defense but then brings up this 30 yr old who has no experience facing NFL defenses. Couple that with the fact that this young upstart is hampering Manuel's development by not letting him play and making him fit to his scheme.

C'mon, man Santonio is a SuperBowl MVP, stretches fields, and to my recollection, performs quite well against us. Jets receivers aren't amazing, but they certainly don't stink. Oakland's receivers stink save for Denarius Moore. Tennessee's receivers stink

IMO (Purely Speculation): This all falls on Hackett in my opinion. Obviously, Marrone has to address all matters related to the team to the press. But this has Hackett's responsibility written all over it. He's young, inexperienced, has no NFL experience. Marrone himself said, that his style of coaching is to let the DC manage defense and OC manage the offense. Marrone is a good guy and doesn't want to hang Hackett out to dry, but judging from the fact that he played in the NFL and has coached in the NFL, he had to have been scratching his head when Hackett pressed forward with Tuel as the backup. From the at times, frustrating playcalling, to his blunder with the QB's, I would guess that Hackett could be out of here by the end of the season. He may have potentially put Marrone in a compromising position strategically speaking.

For some of the short passes, like in the flat, I noticed one one occasion the RB was just standing around, not really engaged or aware of what he is doing. Some of those turnovers that game wouldn't happen if the receivers hold on to the ball. There was one that went off the guy's chest and he barely made an effort seemingly because he wasn't ready. I like what I saw from that video of the Steelers game. One thing is for sure. This guy takes some nasty hits, he's a tough guy. I agree on the similarities to Fitzy. He seems to thrive when plays break down, and is very accurate while on the move. It could be exciting to watch. Guess we will find out on Sunday, guys! Here's hoping we pull this one out!

That's probably what sold him on Minn, was the fact that he wasn't going to be rushed and thrown to the wolves so to speak. In addition, after seeing what the Bengals did to the Patsies, he probably chickened out on signing with us.

I'm not one for falling for false hope, but c'mon guys! Last week the Ravens came to our house acting like they owned this place, like they had this locked. I smell blood, I smell a trap. Dalton SUCKS! And we have the 2nd best rushing attack in the league. If we could hang with Cleveland, NE, Carolina, Baltimore and NYJ, we might be able to pull this off. I was at the Ravens game. THIS. I agree. Shelving Manuel would allow him to heal up, stay healthy and continue to grow and develop. If we can pick up freeman for the vet minimum, why not? He has no leverage. He's getting paid by the Bucs like he's still their starter. We have nothing to lose. If he wins, he can restore his reputation and field offers next season. If he loses, we release him end of the season. Signing Freeman would be a statement that this new regime is committed to putting a winning product.
