  1. Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! Who remembers TD talking about taking a LB with our pick at 55 if it was the best player available. This sounded like a smoke screen at first, but... If we get the #9 pick, would it be way off base to think that TD may pick Merriman, or Johnson to add youth to our aging LB Corps. This may make Posey a June 1st cut which would save us about 1.3 Million. I think either two would be a step up from Posey (who i don't mind as a starter, doesn't make mistakes, but doesn't make nearly enough big plays) and a step towards the future improvement of the team? Go LB at #9 TD
  2. THATS IT!!! You two go to your rooms! No! Stop hitting each other. Stop it! You just punched a whole in my dry wall! Stop it! I am calling the Police! "911 Operator" Yes, i have two bills fans here and they are arguing and fighting and they are just as big as me. I need you to send an officer right away. "Would you like us to shoot one of em?"
  3. I was just about to type that... In Indianapolis everyone can't just say a number, everyone needs to make sure they tell you that it is an interstate you are getting on. Them..."You take I465, get on I70, Take I65 North." Me... 'I ain't taking any "I" you friggin dolt! I am taking "the" 465.'
  4. This is from Henry Rollins' dvd Live at Luna Park. You may not agree with his music, his political tendencies, etc. But i felt it was worthy to transcribe this from his spoken word act. Really honest and true and worth a read. (Please forgive me if this doesn't read as well as it sounded. It is hard to match his impecable timing and delivery.) To be totally serious for at least a minute and a half. I have noticed, in my opinion that people take themselves entirely too seriously. And I think we do a lot of !@#$ed up sh-- to each other, ya know? Shooting each other; you see Israel and Palestine – boom, boom, boom, boom – it’s just a land deal; and I know it’s not that simple, but the idea of stopping shooting, having your sons kill each other is a great idea. I don’t know why these old wise men can’t get it together ‘cause I don’t know why they don’t seem to get tired of scraping their young people’s brains off sidewalks. We live in a country – its probably the best country I have ever been to in my life, and I have been fairly far and fairly wide in my life; and there are some people in this country who hate America. Well, if you hate the place, go kick it in Rio De Jenaro for a few weeks and get back to me; and tell me how you are living, cause its not a bad place but it’s a very hard place to get by. And if you think America sucks, go kick it in downtown Nairobi and lets see how you can kick it; where everything is covered with flies, even the Coca-Cola signs. And its… its…we have it really good here and this country is a place that is worth keeping clean, and its worth policing the area. That is a word I loathe to use in any form especially as a verb. And I am not trying to be patriotic. I am just saying, this is a marvelous place and I can’t believe how many people sh-- on it; how many people shoot themselves in the face; and how many people shoot other people in the face; and how many people make bullets ricochet off buildings, and kill infants, and how many people do bad sh-- all the time when they could be playing Aretha Franklin albums and having a really good time. There is a lot of universal truths that we all kind of access everyday, but I don’t see anyone ever saying them out-loud. If we could all, ya know, kind of get to more of them we could see ourselves for what we really are. And, oh, my god, that is kind of like an Alan Alda, tree-hugging, new-age concept, but what I am saying is, I think people are pretty… pretty weak. Cold in the winter time, hot in the summer time, an ointment for this, ‘Oh I don’t like my breasts’, ‘Oh I don’t like my nose’, ‘Oh I don’t like my hair’, ‘Oh I don’t like my dick’. I mean, they just… ‘I don’t like this. Change me. I’m not good enough. Oh, he’s bad; I’m good. Neh-Neh. !@#$ you. My religion is better than your religion. You’re a dick, I’m a dick. !@#$ you, I might be gay… you might be gay… we all might be gay… we all could die tomorrow.’ Ya know, its just a bunch of idiosyncrasies, a bunch of nervous people going around being the king of the hill. And… I don’t think we are all that great. We are only great when we love each other, we are only great when we are helping each other out, and we are only great when we are trying to be like John Coltrane; ya know, doing something beautiful and artistic and helpful. Otherwise we get into the tough guy thing, ‘I’m gonna shoot your B word in the face,’ all that stuff. Ya know, the older I get the farther I go in the world, the more that stuff is so weak to me. And the only way to be really a good… part of the good thing is to be part of the solution. And standing still, just going, ‘I’m cool, so don’t lecture to me’ is being part of the problem. Because, to be complacent and passive in America is to be part of the problem. Because the problems we got are corrosive and they move, like homophobia and racism are active; they are corrosive; they move at night; they recruit and they are like acid eating away at this really cool tapestry that we have that is full of guys like B.B King, Chuck Berry, and Prince, and Jimi Hendrix and all kinds of people. And even Michael Bolton gets to play… and that’s how cool this place is, because EVEN that guy gets to do it. So on that note, ‘I love you madly’ as Duke Ellington used to say and thanks for having me. Goodnight.
  5. Bucs - Apr. 15 - The Bucs are operating as though they have a chance to get Utah quarterback Alex Smith if he drops to the second pick, according to John Clayton. The debate is whether to give up a second-round choice to move up from No. 5 to No. 2. Smith is the quarterback the Bucs want after seeing him work out last week. The Dolphins are studying him to be the No. 2 pick if they don't trade out. The Dolphins want draft choices. They can get one in the Patrick Surtain deal with the Chiefs, but they should get a better draft choice from the Bucs. The second aspect to the Bucs' move to possibly get Smith is what they are doing at running back. The Bucs contacted the Bills about acquiring halfback Travis Henry. The Bucs might be willing to come up with the right player – not a draft choice – that would entice the Bills to make a trade. If the Bucs could acquire Alex Smith and Henry in two separate trades, they certainly would be big winners in this draft. TH - Apr. 15 - In the market for a top-level running back, Buccaneers GM Bruce Allen told the St. Petersburg Times he has spoken to the Bills about the possibility of acquiring Travis Henry. If the two sides agree to a trade, it likely won't be until next week, speculates the newspaper. The Cardinals have been the favorites to land Henry, but the long-rumored deal that would send Henry to Arizona for offensive tackle L.J. Shelton appears to be on hold. Buffalo would like to swap picks in the second round, taking the Cardinals' pick (No. 44) for the 55th selection, but Arizona coach Dennis Green prefers a straight-up player-for-player swap. ________________________________________________ Nothing new to report, but anyone want to take a guess at what player they may offer that we may be interested in? I am having trouble finding anyone on their roster that would make me jump for joy if we got (outside of Barber and Rice), Maybe we are looking at a three/four team trade here? Does this off-season feel a little bit like the first two weeks of March before the Hockey Trading Deadline?
  6. If we get Marlin in the second round at pick 55, i don't care what happens with the rest of the draft, i would consider it a sucess. The kid is a player. (although i do think he has some off the field problems)
  7. I don't know if has an affect or not honestly, but correct me if i am wrong. Peerless said he would play here if he got franchised, then once he was franchised he was bitter and upset and shocked that he was. Seemed he did a little flippy floppy if i recall correctly.
  8. Forgot to mention something that goes along with #4, The player has to be pissed that he got tagged and wants a new long term deal that offseason.
  9. Just to grade out each player and assign them a number value from 1-5 (5 being the best) i want to compare the two secondaries. I am putting emphasis on this, because i really feel there is potential in a deal like this. Current My Projection Clements 5 Vincent 4 McGee 3 Rogers 3 Greer 2 McGee 3 Thomas 2 Greer 2 Milloy 5 Milloy 5 Vincent 4 Baker 3 Totals 21 20 Of course this is all numbers and each person can assign them as they see fit. But i see Rogers as a step over McGee and McGee a step up over Greer at the Nickel and TV an acceptable step down and Baker an acceptable step down at the Corner and FS positions. Also remember this is all in an attempt to bolster our Offensive line for the current and future of the team.
  10. After sleeping on it for about twenty minutes, realizing the offer is far fetched of a 1 and 2 for Clements and a 6th. Does it become a matter of how a choice do we give up. If we make it Clements and a 4th i still like the deal. If it is Clements and a third i am a little bit leary, but who with three picks in the top 50 compared to the two picks in the top 100 we currently have is better for our team i feel.
  11. To the few that mentioned it, i used Cinci as an example of a team that we could trade with to get a pick in the 40-50 range of the second round (where i feel the real value of this trade would come from). I do like the idea of Washington trading us their #9 pick and getting one of the top three CB's there. I didn't think that we would be able to pull a second rounder out of them for a top ten pick, another reason i chose Cinci... as well, i saw them on a few mock draft sites taking Rogers, so i just figured we can try and slide in that spot. I have also seen other mocks that have him going as low as 14, if so, a trade with cincy does no good. Tipster: Thanks for your comments although i disagree with a few as you disagreed with some of mine. I really think a Secondary with Baker, Milloy, Vincent, Rogers, McGee is not TOO far of a drop off from Vincent, Milloy, Clements, McGee, Greer. Remember Vincent is only a few years removed from a pro-bowl at corner, and while i admit he is better suited to be a FS at this stage of his career, it doesn't mean he can't be a starting #1 corner in this league if called upon to do so. Similarly, Mularkey and Co's philosophy is to put the players that can contribute on the field as often as possible. I really believe Baker is one of these player's which made it frustrating to see TV take that spot and hinder his development. I expect big things from Baker and will hope that he is the best safety in the history of the NFL that wasn't drafted. The drop off on defense may be noticeable but not drastic, i think at worst with the changes mentioned in this thread and the loss of PW, we are still a top ten defense. Now if we can bolster our offense (and i think we have enough weapons already, if we could only have a strong O-line) and give us a top 15 offense i think the playoffs and much further are a distinct possibility this year. Another note: I know this draft seems weak, but it has been written and i firmly believe that this draft has one of the deepest 2/3rds of a second round we will see for a long time. I would love to see TD accumulate as many picks in the 30-50 range as possible as i feel there are starters on both sides of the ball to be had in that range. I don't see a glaring weakness on this team other than at the LT position. We are contenders on paper, now all we need to do is back it up in a fashion we haven't seen in a decade or so.
  12. Ummm, i think my life will never be the same again.
  13. I bet Kiper knew about this long ago... he prides himself on putting every player under a microscope, and in this case that microscope probably extended to Castillo's urine sample. Shame for this kid, but i guess he deserves any fall in his draft stock.
  14. The Deal is Nate Clements and a 6th for their 1st and 2nd round this year. Carlos Rogers becomes a Bill. With the 44th overall pick the Bills select David Baas. (acquired from ARZ) With the 48th overall pick the Bills select OT Adam Terry. Starting O-line looks like this on Opening Day. Terry - Anderson - Teague - Villarial - Williams Starting Secondary on Opening Day. CB1 Vincent CB2 Rogers Nickel McGee Dime Thomas/Greer FS Baker SS Milloy Explanation - After listening to TD's press conference in full from Monday, i just had a feeling that he has fielded offers for Clements and may be mulling them over. I love NC, would love to see him in a Bills uni this year, and don't think it would be the smartest thing to to trade him. BUT... You want your young playmakers on the field, and i want Baker to see some serious time this year. I was impressed with him last year and think he has the potential to be a success story (UDFA - 10 yr solid starter) in the making. Now, with the selection of Rogers and movement of TV back to corner, i don't think the drop-off from NC and McGee would be detrimental to our Defense. The selection of Baas solidifies our center position for 3-4 years when we let Teague walk next year. The selection of Terry does the same thing for the LT spot. We now have the makings of a very young and very good line with AT, BA, DB, MW (none of which will be older than 28 i believe going into opening day 2006). Villarial's successor will come in a future draft or a FA signing. Overall - If these moves are made (or similar moves to select the top lineman of the second round, and one of the 2nd tier but very good CB's - Washington, Rogers, Jackson) i do honestly believe that our CURRENT roster and our FUTURE roster is improved. When i first heard the NC rumors my initial reaction was 'fine we will trade him for a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and if we feel like being nice, your 3rd rounder next year' but i really feel that if a trade goes down, this could be a very good way to improve our team (specifically our O-line) for years to come. Stay tuned... Flame away, i am curious as to if you feel such moves would improve our roster as a whole, or if this would do far more harm then good for our Bills. p.s. Shelton of course would be coming here as a Bill in the ARZ trade i mentioned above. He has potential for 6th man on the line, or starting RG after Villarial exits, or even a training camp casualty (<--- this is the most likely if the above really does pan out).
  15. Just a thought -- If we do franchise Nate at the end of the year? what makes people think we can't afford around a $10 salary for only one year. I know it sounds like a lot, but with a MW restructuring, DB hit gone, and really solid use of the cap, we could be able to afford him for a season making a trade not neccesary, once again giving TD the upperhand in negotiations. Clump may be better to tell us all if it is possible to clear out that much cap room for next year or not.
  16. Looks like we could start out 4-0... wouldn't that be nice... (knock on wood a several thousand times)
  17. You guys probably have a better recollection than I, but didn't JD Williams have a hell of a rookie season in 90. I remember him returning a punt block for a touchdown that changed the momentum of that game and a few other such plays. When did he become a bust and leave the organization? Did he get hurt? Or just started to play poorly?
  18. Bye week is right after that. I hope it doesn't happen, cause i think we can beat the Patsies, but if it turns into the way it normally does up there on national tv, we are going to have a really bad taste in our mouth for two full weeks leading into our next game.
  19. Ohhh, and my guess for our one SNF game will be us at the Chargers in the middle of the season. Week 8-11.
  20. Has it been determined where each nationally televised game will be shown on. I remember hearing that ABC and ESPN may switch nights. Is that official or just a thought? And will it begin this year or 2006? Anyone know?
  21. My hate towards Collins stems from a few times i met him in person and several conversations i had with his friends and former Bills Justin Armour and Tony Cline. Collins just wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed and found it humorous that he would be at Harvard taking the class that TV set up. I deeply respect all athletes trying to improve themselves as people off of the field. Just the high respect i have for an institution in the Ivy League, and the lack of respect i have for TC's brain size is humorous to me. By all means i didn't mean to poke fun at his effort for being there. Just merely his (and Mitchell's) brain capacity. To me it is funny.
  22. NOTICE: Watch DiMarco's feet as he walks towards his own shot. He has the best view of the line the putt is taking, he stops dead in his tracks as he sees its speed and line right towards the cup. I wish the camera had his facial expression. I have seen the shot about 30 times or so... Fantastic!!
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/apphoto/pho...2039&sportId=28 Todd Collins and Freddie Mitchell at a class at Harvard? I can only imagine the look on some of the Professor's faces when they realized they had to teach these two maroons. I thought you need an IQ higher than the number of limbs you had to be even allowed to access any building at Harvard.
