  1. I can understand some of the crowd and their comments on Trump testifying at his trial, but I’d expect a more balanced reply from you. I would think most people who feel victimized by overzealous, well-intended but erroneous, corrupt or novel theory prosecution would love the opportunity to tell their story to a jury. The notion of clearing one’s name, sharing their story, getting things off their chest is perfectly normal. It’s also quite perilous. Is that the recommended course of action for most defendants, Frank? To testify? Is the system really designed for heartfelt conversations where everyone shares their feelings in a tree of trust, perspectives shared and debated with Lady Justice peaking under that blindfold to make sure everyone respects decorum? After reviewing some of the write ups on witnesses, is it possible perspective changed? Plus, people talk too much, and LEO/prosecution knows this. Many years ago a friend in law enforcement told me the best course of action is know your rights, seek and listen to counsel and keep your mouth shut when speaking with the police. I would think Trump is a nightmare on the “listen to counsel” leg of the journey, but maybe he listens once in while.
  2. The language is offensive, and the likelihood is that in a 4 year window, deportation on that scale is virtually impossible to imagine. In addition, Americans of all political persuasion are generally decent people and support sensible immigration policy. What we have now is a clusterf*ck of unimaginable proportions. Biden is the guy in charge, and he's been a fixture for 50 years. The idea to hit him hard on immigration is the correct course of action. I echo your concern about the language used, and there is a fine line to walk there. However, we've seen an awful lot of reporting about democrats, especially in our cities, losing patience with the process as money is gobbled up by the machine to address the crisis. I think it's reasonable and appropriate to tie crime in all its forms to Biden and Co. Talk about assaults, robberies, sexual assaults, murder on both sides of the border, the involvement of some of the most dangerous criminal organizations on the planet. Ditto with infectious diseases. Follow the law as you have suggested, and improve it where necessary.
  3. Perhaps, in addition to the complaint, a strongly worded letter to leadership is in order.
  4. Daz is engaged and full of vim and vigor. I respect that on some level, but his takes often reflect the closed mindset of a pre-suffrage man about town. It’s just a different type of closed/mindedness.
  5. I don’t know if the rules were followed. You don’t know if the rules were followed. What I do know is that you’ve had multiple opportunities to declare the Dems are above reproach. You’ve offered you don’t trust them. We’re in the same boat, really. Now….. If there was a procedure violated, a complaint rendered and then the complaint was ignored, a second complaint should be lodged post haste. We have to have procedures else we have anarchy. Bold claims are just that, bold. It is likely the millionth time a bold claim was made in the halls of power. I don’t care.
  6. It’s not an official brigade, just an fyi. More a group of like minded citizens that meet for coffee and dollar menu breakfast every month at the local McDs. One guy suggested the name Streamer Posse but we felt there was considerable likelihood of misunderstanding. No one needs that. I’d offer that for many supporters of the conservative wing of the court, the flag convo is fine, but given all that has gone before, and all that is yet to come…from nominees unable to define terms, manufactured stories of high school rape trains and high tech lynchings..calls for recusal are silly.
  7. I would give you the ok sign, or thumbs up-but better just to stare straight ahead and blink 3x, but not 4 as that’s been co-opted too, I’m sure.
  8. Censorship? The house and senate hearings/committees are a conglomerate of silliness, pettiness, shutdowns, putdowns, grandstanding, implications, posturing and theater. They live and operate in a world the rest of us do not. Or, as you indicated yesterday—-politicians honest lolol. If the rules were followed, they were followed. If they were not, procedural complaints will surely follow. Stand by though, I may be enraged by something similar happening in the senate in a half hour or so.
  9. Living a quality life, living traditional values, raising children and shaping the world “kept women down”? That’s complete bulls#it. It is not the only way, and not everyone chose that path, but your premise is wrong. Education is important, of course, but a strong argument is made these days that our system is flawed, extraordinarily expensive, and saddles people (women included) with unreasonable debt that crushes them. There are alternatives to a traditional education, and college is not for everyone. Not every person wants a family. Open your mind for goodness sake.
  10. I’ve explained the SC issue a couple times now, and understand that you’re lathered up about the SC justices, or their spouses, or both, or neither. As for HB, yes. Let’s see it through one way or another. Well, I think you’ve created a false narrative here, and created a false dichotomy to position yourself as a combatant in an imaginary battle. In reality, you’re only battling an overactive imagination. You don’t believe him. I understand.
  11. There are other things that bother me more than this lady’s pandering, too. But I replied to a video clip of this lady pandering.
  12. If i have to tell you the major impact of the Russians in the Weeds on the Trump administration (and of the impact it had on our country), I am wasting your time and mine. I’ll give you a hint, it rhymes with Shnuller. I’m telling you only the truth, Daz. 2020 happens because 2016 worked so well. Yes, I was told I should be outraged. I’m not. I can tell you many other things that bother me more, but why bother? This might the type of thing that bothers me more. 🤫
  13. Look, there’s indeed too much hubbub about this, but people are saying he didn’t say “keep women in the kitchen, doing laundry, cleaning house” because he did not say those things. He obviously could have, but he clearly didn’t. As for progress made since the 1950s, we’ll, I think you’re being disrespectful to those families who follow a more traditional model, but we can def agree their has been tremendous progress made on equality since the 1950s.
  14. Your point was about lying and judges, Daz, and the outcome was a major impact on the administration of the legitimate President of the country. That it didn’t bother you changed nothing.
  15. Did you think he didn’t know what he was saying? That he was trying to sneak past things like scheduling family events, cleaning up kitchen spills, wiping snotty noses, organizing the household? I am fortunate—my wife is amazing at all that….and takes great pride in doing so. I really don’t think he was trying to create a Rubik’s Cube of confusion here. I think it’s clear where he and his wife stand on all this, and where lots of other folks stand as well. Personally, the only part I thought was silly and intolerant was the part about deadly sin and pride. The rest appeals to some, not to others.
  16. I try to be reasonable, but not at the expense of applying reason. With respect to honesty, ah, I think the most important aspect is ethical and proper administration of the law. I am not intimately familiar with the cannons, though my muscle shirts are out just in time for the gun show this weekend! As for lying, I should point out here that you’ve unilaterally decided he has lied, where I have not. I spend a fair amount of time on these issues, and until a couple days ago had no idea that hanging a flag upside down was a secret MAGA thing. What I know about it goes back to a Robert Redford movie 20 years ago. Of course it’s related. It’s so related, in fact, that you wound your way back around to the point. In 2016, there was only information about illegitimate, stolen elections. Those that made those statements were lying, but you don’t want to touch that because you feel you surrender some internet moral high ground—you don’t. Then, you offer a feeble “LOLOL” to somewhat acknowledge the truth in what I’m saying. If you think the Dems were above board, honest and faithful to the core in 2016, just say so. You didn’t, because they weren’t. Politicians have tremendous power and influence on our everyday lives. They make laws, policy, and the direction of the country. I won’t ask if you think they should be truthful and act with integrity—-of course you do, but like most, you’re a little less stressed about it when they are not truthful and act unethically when they’re acting in a way consistent with your beliefs. I have not seen compelling evidence that the 2020 election was stolen. I would not be surprised in the least if it was, or if in elections past, the R party did their part to steal. I base this on the history of people and all that has gone before now. I predict if Trump wins, the D party will allege stolen/illegitimate whatever, and they will contest as they have in years past, most recently in 2016.
  17. Everyone writes their own story in this regard. Community college, stay at home, go away, SUNY, private, undergrad, advanced degrees, law school, medical school….whatever. Some people have bad breaks, some make bad choices, some squander opportunity, some make the most of it. This was disingenuous and she looked like a moron.
  18. I recognize the dog and pony aspect of these press conferences, and I have no major issue with this KJP anymore than any other. She sounds like a complete a$$wipe here. First, the pretend confusion on the question is cringeworthy. As in...wait...$35,000..what? If she didn't follow the question, she's a moron. If she did follow the question and thought pretend confusion was the play, she's a bigger moron. Finally, the "...literally...crushed..." by a $35,000 loan is absurd for the vast majority of borrowers. Consumerfinance.gov suggests an average federal loan rate is between 5.50-8.05%, average term is 10 years. On the high side, that 's $425/month. The same site suggests private loans range from 4.15% - 15.70%, for a monthly high side payment of $579. In this case, the best answer to the question about 'other Americans' from this administration and dems in general is "We don't care about them.".
  19. I know, that was in the article, but I'm a patriot first. I can't add the Daily Mail to my list of approved/credible media sources because of that Tea Party dust up in 1773. You may pledge fealty to the crown and it's minions, Mate, but I shall not.
  20. Agreed. We've got @daz28 publishing the works of Mirriam Webster to...well, I'm not sure why he's posting that.
  21. I can't find the link, but the Danbury Pennysaver may have an undercover reporter bird doggin' this tight bubble story. I'll add the Courant to my list of reliable media outlets if you'll agree to add the DS to yours. #staytuned
  22. Has this been the hot topic amongst every person alive who’s not MAGA, this upside down flag issue? It’s May, 2024–when were you first made aware of this event at the Alito home? Justice Alito has exercised his right to free speech, that you don’t like the answer isn’t his problem. Oh, and your thoughts on certain lawmakers using their rights to free speech to declare the election of 2016 illegitimate, thereby spreading misinformation about the security of our election? Are politicians supposed to “use their free speech be honest”, too?
  23. But that shipped sailed, Frenkle—a long time ago. The USA, through its government, has messed around for decades. It’s literally right in front of you. Clinton(s), Pence, Biden—-all took advantage of lax security, lax oversight, and held onto mementos, classified documents, top secret information and more. You know this, Tibs knows this, but you’re allowing people in authority to convince you otherwise. It’s been really amazing to watch you guys complain about Trump and run with a full throated howl directly to the authoritarianism you claim to abhor.
  24. It's a sad thing to see, but let's not forget that while Hersh Goldberg-Polin's family is suffering , Joe's son was also held hostage by a terrorist organization. He understands the pain.
  25. @The Frankish Reich thoughts on this? I believe the Grand Jury is +/- a rubber stamp in many cases, a one-sided visitation of evidence designed to get to the next step where the fun begins. Based on what we know---the evidence team gathered documents outside the scope of the court order, including tax returns and attorney/client documents, then fought tooth and nail to keep an independent party from reviewing documentation and determine what should be returned, what was fair for the govt to keep, and of course staged photos for release to the press---is it fair to suggest "thuggery" in play here? It seems from the reaction of Attorney Parlatore that he was completely taken aback by the line of questioning the govt (wo)man was pursuing. "Are you---are we really doing this?" seems to imply he thought some lines were being crossed. I'm not suggesting the govt man's actions were "lawless", because it seems like there is tremendous latitude given the home team, but what say you? Do you think the plan was to leverage the tension/stress of the proceeding to get Parlatore to make a mistake and violate Trump's confidence, knowing full well that conversations were privileged? Do you think a mistake was made by Attorney Edelstein, that perhaps she lost track of the rules regarding attny/client privilege and inadvertently asked a bad question? Or, is this sort of business as usual, where anyone can ask pretty much anything at any time?
