  1. jimmy kimmel has a team scouring the news/internet for quirky things like this, writers that consider focus groups and the current sociopolitical climate and the mood of his sponsors, and reads from a teleprompter to make sure he delivers these pearls of wisdom for maximum effect. Kudos to him for getting to this point in life. Still, there was a time not all that long ago where his creative juices had him approaching random women on the street to implore the to "guess what's in my pocket?" with another guy holding a cell phone to film it. I'll take a kid who is passionate enough to take his hard-earned money and hop a bus to the ticket booth and buy a ticket for the team he loves to watch them play a team that everyone knows will dominate. I'll take a kid who cares enough to fire up the old gateway computer, set the font on Times New Roman/bold/all caps and screw the format! He delivered his message to the people and his message was heard. This kid has moxie. How can you not respect a kid like that?
  2. He does sound a tad unhinged here. He went full high pitched B word slap for a minute there.
  3. I watched an alleged news story this very alleged morning about the alleged phony plot to accuse mueller of alleged sexual harassment. With every piece of data, and every fact not in dispute about ford and the left v. Kavanaugh---I mean the stuff everyone agreees on about who said what to whom about when---you ended up with the fact pattern that played out in the confirmation hearing. At one point you simply needed to change "mueller" to "Kavanaugh" and the story made perfect sense. admittedly, you did not NEED to change mueller to Kavanaugh as both are part of the white guy extremist population and thus should be white guy banned once all the non white guys rise up.
  4. As a guy offered 3 separate opportunities to fly the Space Shuttle back in the day, I find this all very plausible.
  5. Let's be honest. Gronkowski drove into a guy laying facedown on the ground and slammed his elbow into the back of his head, causing the guy's head to bounce off what amounts to concrete covered by a yoga mat. It was not a football play, it was not post-scrum action, it was not two guys jawing and one losing his cool. It was a deliberate attempt to injure a guy unable to defend himself, something that if you saw outside a bar from Boston to Buffalo you would say "Geesh, what a scumbag.". That sort of assault was viewed by the league as no big deal, the punishment levied by the league was minor relative yo the infraction, especially in light of the leagues stated goal to protect players and their senses long-term. I think the NFL takes the approach that they'll assess lots of smaller fines on lower level guys while allowing marquis players and teams much more latitude. In context, I would suggest the NFL should levy no fine at all. Let it happen, but let it happen across the board. The biggest issue most people seem to have is the inconsistency across the board, between crews and often in the same game.
  6. I don't like the protests at work, don't like nike and have told folks i would rather not win a sb than win with a guy wearing pig socks. Given all that, I'd love to see them invite him in to hear him scream a great big "Ah hellll no!" to the offer.
  7. I love when multimillionaires sell me their multimillionaire ice cream and tell me how it makes us equal, except for the money and obesity issues.
  8. I think some times when you read what you wrote, and consider societal norms and socially acceptable behavior, it's easy to spot where you may have gotten a bit off track. Not always, but some times.
  9. He was a step away from bringing down Brady on his amazing 8 yard scramble last night. He was held on the way in, held on the way back when he tried to finish the play. One of the more infuriating plays last night.
  10. Jesus, I've been around too long. I thought it was stupid and childish, though I kind of see the Josh Allen on the swan boat as humorous. Though, given the injury, he should have been on a black swan.
  11. Did they give him the yards off the pick 6?
  12. Besides what may be the nicest weather over a 365 day stretch on the planet, girls in bikinis and virtually every type of food available 24x7, what does this guy have going for him?
  13. I want to sound smart here, but am concerned there will be follow up questions so I'm going with "Indeed."
  14. And that is an excellent point. The deep state exists one way or the other. It's really just a matter of who you want to believe, and whether or not you find catchy names like "deep state" easier to say than "operatives inside and outside the public industrial complex spreading disinformation".
  15. I read what you wrote. Did you mean something other than what you typed? You used titillating and mundane, right? I didn't click on the link, I generally don't click on those unless I know the source. It's the height of irony that even assuming your link provides what you say it does, and that the data is accurate, a whopping 50% of the data you provided is 100% made up. Dont believe everything you read as it relates to polls or polling data. People who read too much into that stuff are less Ben Franklin and more Ben Dover.
  16. I don't understand this post. You think the story of the murder of a 97 year old woman in a house of worship is "mundane" and needs embellishment? Then, you feel the need to make up arbitrary numbers to support your point of view? Your problem is a you problem, not 57% +/- Trump supporters and 99% +/- Qanon lemmings.
  17. I have had issues every year for the last ten, and for the past couple have had two accounts. First game of the season, I got an ambiguous message, called and discovered I had never ordered it. I had, of course, three weeks earlier with long discussions on how I wanted it at both locations but only wanted to pay one charge for it. I indicated that if that was not possible, I'd skip ordering it at either location and just find a local spot to watch. Like clockwork, they screwed it up. In fairness, when they finally fixed it, I was able to start the game from the beginning and saw the whole thing. When I called the next day to figure out how to avoid this problem in the future, they gave me a $65 monthly credit for 12 mos.
  18. It's worth $50 to me, but I do not accept checks. Cash only, small bills.
  19. So, a group of like-minded individuals get together to discuss issues that impact them, call it a Summit and you insult them with some odd reference to a "cookout"? What is that even supposed to mean? That's just ugliness, and incredibly condescending.
  20. Reading is fundamental, even for liberals. People die on the way here. People are murdered on the way here. People are assaulted on the way here. People are robbed on the way here. People are traumatized on the way here. People are trafficked on the way here. The exact same thoughts apply to citizens on this side of the border, often an unfortunate and tragic byproduct of a failed immigration policy. If you feel that people who die on their way to the promised land are worth sacrificing because you want prefer anarchy at the border, the good news is that's what happens with regularity. Though, I'd bet the family of Molly Tibbets would like have preferred, given their druthers, that the man who brutalized and murdered their child had simply terrorized her with a bomb that didn't actually explode v ending her life. Just a hunch.
  21. If the leadership of this nation devoted 1/10th of the urgency they showed in this investigation to the challenges of a broken immigration system, a whole lot less people be victimzed in and on the way into this country.
  22. This post bombed. That's a metaphor for it sucked some'in awful.
  23. As Zucker said recently, "words matter". I'd add into that "words not used matter as well". I saw a piece on the bomb/rhetoric on NBC this morning. The carefully crafted piece went to great lengths to include Trump and Trump footage, to include commentary on his interaction with Democrats, and to lay blame squarely st his feet. The piece failed to mention rhetoric by virtually every high profile dem and their call to action. That's been the tactical approach to the Russian collusion story for the entirety of the reporting on the MSM. Take part of the story, fail to mention the news that contradicts it, put some hucksters on to "analyze" the issue, and move forward. For every time it was reported that secret sources claimed DT was going to fire Sessions, Rosenstein, Mueller et al, with obligatory commentary from Schumer et al, you would think they would be embarrased that their sources sucked so bad, so often. I understand the need for anonymous sources, but this whole concept also provided great cover to those who want to mold the narrative.
  24. Bob Deniro will have something to say for sure. He reminds me more every day of an unhinged drunkard struggling to stay relevant, which is sad for me because I love virtually every Deniro film ever made. I wonder if he might stop and pause about his contribution to escalating rhetoric. I would assume not.
  25. i don't know about that. what makes you think they missed the initial shot to the face on Benjamin? the inconsistency from game to game, and often play to play leaves me with no faith that the official saw the initial shot to the face and figured it was fine. i agree, if benjamin walks away there is no penalty called, but that's part of the problem.
