You brought up decorum and respect for the office as it seems that’s an important consideration when voting for a candidate. Do you have thoughts on how a President should behave when accused of treason by his opponents and national media? If you think it’s wrong to publicly state your innocence, or to call out wrongdoers and defend yourself, it’s certainly an option. It would be like when Austria was anchlaussed...just let it happen? Then again maybe I took what you said out of context. That happens sometimes. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers, you can never have too many of those.

You’re a lost soul. He was accused of treason, and 24 hours a day for 3 years it was all treason all day. Collusion. Obstruction. Leaks and innuendo. He knew the truth, as did all the players who set up the game. I’ll ask you the question I’ve asked others: What is the appropriate Presidential demeanor and decorum when the political opposition paints you as a traitor to your country? What would be the appropriate response to a media mob who reported dutifully that it sure appeared he was a traitor and got it all wrong for nearly 4 years? I don’t think it’s Trump who lacks respect for the office.

That would be outstanding.

Eliminating the press from the room knocks down the chatter, the silly questions that frequently disrupt the meeting. People would be able to ask questions directly, without redundancy and model the super-sized social distancing that seems to be the future of humanity. Members of the press would surely be able to submit questions for consideration, and would certainly remain as “free” as one is when shareholders, subscription, advertising and web page clicks rule the day. Personally speaking, I like to hear directly from the President. It’s one of the hallmarks of the Trump effect.

The challenge is they are so heavily vested in the “Trump is horrible” and “We are pure” that there is no place for them but to fall. I really do try to be reasonable, but seriously—-how can Joe Biden be the nominee for president and get the support of all the top brass when this much is known: 1. This allegation did not come out of the blue, and yet Joe is the guy; 2. If Joe is pure, why not address the scurrilous allegation by this money/fame/gop operative who’s been lying in wait for three decades. Call her out. Tell the true story. Heck fight like a Kavanaugh. Instead...crickets chirp. 3. Joe has issues long before this claim resurfaced, many other instances of groping that were written off as you suggested above. If they knew of the allegation, why ride with Joe. If they didn’t, how the &$$@ does that happen? Frankly, I think for all the supposed data suggesting dem voters are way smart, they are hoodwinked with alarming frequency.

I came to that conclusion because he may well be the most hated man in political history, and he was subjected to major media scrutiny the likes of which is rarely seen. After that, the 12 angry prosecutors funded by the American taxpayer scrutinized every aspect of his public/private life just looking for a crime to hang on him. As of right now—-let me check—the Donald is at 0.00. In fact, there was so little to go on, folks of your persuasion ended up hanging your hat on remarks he made regarding consensual sexual encounters....and became filled with righteous indignation and have been yammering on over it since. Meanwhile, I’ve been saying all along that there aren’t any moral high grounds to be had in American politics, and those who think there are will look silly one day soon. It’s “one day soon”. I don’t know what you should do, that’s not my place in the world. My job is just to lob information your way. I would sit out the election, or vote for a third party candidate if I thought a candidate assaulted someone as Joe has been accused. That would be a line in the sand for me, I love and respect the incredible strong women in my life. The way I see it, if you supported the bloodletting of Brett Kavanaugh, and felt in your bones that he didn’t deserve to be on the SC as a result of the smear tactics used to disembowel him, well, It seems you would not want to support Joe Biden. Heck, even he #stoodwithher when he didn’t realize #shewastalkingabouthim!

This is a delightful day. Joe Biden, a man who has acknowledged making up the rules on who gets touched/smelled and when and where, written it off as just what guys from Scranton do and usually the ladies love it, he’s accused of penetrating a woman against her will, and there is purportedly a recorded phone call by her mother to a major TV show of the day. Troop Leader Biden clearly knew of these accusations, his friends in business and political leadership obviously knew and they all sat around commenting on how presidential Joe Biden was for standing up for women during #ibelieveher. The major media outlets (the ones I asked you about missing the glaring evidence of malfeasance over the 4 year Russia hoax) chose to #ignoreher until #theycouldnolongerignoreher, and your response is that you stand with Joe because he’s the less assaulty of the two???? Come to think of it, when Joey Fingers was vetted for VP, how arrogant was Obama and his leadership team to simply discard this lady and het complaints? She accuses the guy of violent sexual assault and they deep-six the story entirely? Wow. What a ride this election season is shaping up to be. I wonder how many more women are out there that Joe assaulted?.

Fair enough. I guess we all see what we want or need to see. I thought at the time the Clinton issue was like Clinton himself: overblown. Still, his fetish was his weakness, he exposed his throat to his enemies and was willing to lie under oath. A Benghazi gets investigated every time, and when you factor in the manufactured story exposing some poor bastard in Nowhereville to a death sentence by blaming him for some dopey video, the evidence shows the Sec State knew and told her daughter immediately, I see that as more mainstream politicizing than anything else. Obama birther was Trump/Romney and no income tax paid. I’ll have to refresh my memory on McCain, but I agree wholeheartedly it’s a blood sport. Which brings me back full circle to the future. We might as well get to it. Thank you.

And yet, the cabal as a whole struggles more and more each year as people lose confidence in the product. Hang in there, though, you have your routine. Get up, check your mood ring to see how you’re feeling, slip your earth shoes on, stroll down to the news stand and pick up the the NYT to see what happened in Arkansas three days prior.

No different than a popular reality show at the end of a successful run. I wouldn’t advocate shuttering any institution, but continued acknowledgement of the generally false narrative is appropriate. Use of social media and alternative outlets to bypass the spinsters is appropriate. That will eventually lead to the worst offenders being marginalized and placed in the rack with the a national enquirer. As they dwindle and eventually fade away, a strong and honest media will ultimately take its place.

Here’s the thing from my perspective though. It’s not that it didn’t add up, the former head of the CIA accused him of treason, and pretty much across the board dem leadership did the same. We’re here discussing it and you, a reasonable poster in my humble opinion, opined it’s actually Trump’s fault he wasn’t treasonous because he was too dopey to pull it off. Not the danger of these games to our Republic, not the danger of accusing an individual (who is a natural target just because of his position) of treason, not the insanity of this particular fairy tale. The natural question in my mind is if this is acceptable to you, and this is the next evolution of political wrangling, what’s next? More troubling for me personally is if this is the new normal, what will I rationalize is acceptable for my candidates moving forward? What’s after “treason” when dem voters are so hyper focused on knocking out the candidate 60m of their fellow citizens voted for that they accept it as business as usual? I felt the same about the Kav hearings, and the reality is that nothing really is off limits moving forward. The stage is set, and with Chief Executioner and mudslinger Kamala Harris a potential VP candidate, the game has to be played as such. That’s horrible. Ukraine...politically acceptable to me for the dems to bring it up and push the envelope. The hypocrisy of the whole thing with presumptive nominee Biden shaking down the Ukrainians to do his bidding, the incestuous nature of politics/nepotism and entitlement is a non-issue because it seems everyone does it. I’d think that’s why the Rs brought it up originally, threw a little mud against the wall and nothing stuck. Impeachment...another bridge too far. I spend time here because it helps me has things out. I enjoy some of the humor, certainly enjoy some of the posts, and enjoy interacting with like-minded people. I wouldn’t waste my time going to a pro-dem board, it would be a waste of my time. Anyway, have a good day.

What’s the point of saying he said something stupid to a political adversary? Is there a halfway mark everyone is trying to meet at? The premise seems to be that everyone on the other side is honest, forthcoming and neutral. It’s like prior presidents and other politicians don’t say stupid things, don’t lie/cheat steal and we have to start today, today to have open and honest dialogue so we can meet at some happy place. i’ve inquired more than a few times to members of the board their thoughts on Trump-guilty-of-treason and Schiff-has-evidence-against-Trump-just-wait! and thoughts on how major media outlets so badly misread the story for 3 years. I usually add in that the end game was laid out here, on a message board, 3 years ago. See to me, if people are really having open dialogue, before I waste my time with “Trump said something stupid” I’m wondering how the heck someone could support an attempt to steal my vote and an effort to unseat the duly elected President. I ask the same questions to liberal friends. I still don’t have an answer, but in fairness I’m pretty certain it was an attempted coup, so there’s not much middle ground to be had. as far as I am concerned...that’s why you get Trump. ?

The MSM can’t be seen as covering positive news about expanded testing, cooperation from Trump admin in response to pleas from governors who were caught un and underprepared, numbers far below the millions of dead some projected unless they can manage the sound bites. They’ve unilaterally decided what you need to hear, like you’re 7. Why would you crave or support that? You’re clearly interested, you comment with regularity...what’s that all about?

This morning, Today show correspondent Peter Alexanderstazan was doing an on-the-spot report from a street in Washington. Why he's not sheltering in place, why he's risking the health of those around him by being outside is beyond me, but it is what it is. He was reporting on the President's comments and stopped to read an index card he was holding in his hand so that he could be certain to deliver the information clearly. The 'don't drink bleach' message. Also, why do these nimrods have to report through a mask where there is no one within 6 feet of them? It's moronic.

I'm not sure I disagree with you, though I'd suggest the job of the media is to report facts in a consistent, unbiased and non-partisan fashion. On top of that, I believe the media reporting an issue as fact should refrain from characterizations, implications and opinions. I think the media as a whole fails, epically in many situations, conflates op-eds with fact-based reporting, and as a result, the credibility of the source comes into question. They should be held accountable as well.
