DeSantis For President in 2024?
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
@Irv, note, Biden is not involved in COVID at all. -
Sure, it wasn’t that you were duped, they almost had him!!! It was “see Bill Barr” who brought down Hans Mueller und das Katzenjammer kids super amazing fabtasitical tale of Donald Trump, KGB operative! 4 years. $40m. Doors busted. Media leaks. Offers to flip. Trump walks, but gosh darn it was amazingly close. But “see Bill Barr”. 🤣 Seriously though—thanks for the explanation about how you cloaked yourself in patriotism with your Biden vote. Nothing says class like bragging about how awesome you are.

And the tap out follows as surely as day follows night. It’s not you, be-be-because you just stood in line and voted for the-the-the guy who wasn’t your first choice…you were just being a patriot. With virtually every card stacked in the deck—from the ability to select prosecutors, control of the intelligence community, to the FBI, to unlimited police power with an unlimited budget, your version of patriotism walked away with absolutely nothing on the primary charge that got you all super-jazzed up. When he didn’t fold under immense pressure, they switched gears and focused on “obstruction”, a fancy way of saying in frustration “he’s not cracking”. You, if you’re like the rest of the Biden purists, switched as well. Now, oddly, you feel compelled to explain your devotion to Joe Biden. Let it go, man. I can understand the political play by your leaders, history shows us cycles where this sort of thing happens. I just don’t understand you kneeling before them. But sure, you’re the patriot. 🤣🤣🤣

The lack of self-awareness here is stunning. Some, probably most, people voted for Biden because of his platform, he was their guy—progressive causes, student loan forgiveness, thoughts on police, past history of legislation. They looked past the allegations of sexual predation, racial commentary, the pay for play scandal and his pudding brain. “For the good of the country” simply means “in their own best interest” when viewed from the other side. You’re making the same argument some people made when they voted for Trump. “We didn’t vote for him because…., we voted for the good of the country”. When viewed from the rational perspective, it’s really hard to fathom how millions of Biden voters were up in arms about Trump’s claim of a stolen election after watching the Biden, Pelosi et al assault on our Democratic process for the 4 years of McCarthyesque Russia baiting. It was bad enough while it was ongoing, but when they walked away with egg on their face you’d think your version of a “patriot” would be a bit ashamed of buying the snake oil they were selling. Biden’s president, folks worry about election security because it’s a mainstream topic. It was for 4 years before, you just didn’t know it. Embrace Biden, he’s your guy, no need to rationalize that any further.

It's Time to Mandate Vaccines
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Nothing happens unless the state(s) approve it, or perhaps, mandates it. -
So far today, you’ve run with a conspiracy comment, troll reference, a claim to have invented the dance puppet dance genre, and the obligatory bi-weekly Deranged Rhino (and minions) obsession post. You’re the 2014 Honda Civic (Base model, tan on tan interior, Arizona Taupe exterior) of the board—not particularly exciting but we know what to expect. Carry on.

They did this with W Bush and Liz Cheney’s old man. War for oil, manufactured evidence, young people being sent to Iraq for profit. Our prez that replaced him, and his VP at the time were all in on that dealio. Next thing you know, the war for oil president and his accuser were thick as thieves, and the VP—who supported that war is president. When does one sit back and think “Gee, this is weird?”.

I have no idea about Beasley working behind the scenes, and as a business owner and general get along guy, I share nothing, zero, nada, bupkiss, zed, zip on SM, so I think he’s on the wrong path generally. But I feel that way about just about everyone regardless of the side they are on. We agree on the most pressing issue we covered today, that’s enough for me.

Correct, of course. My brother is a Teamster, many of the rank and file members of his organization are extremely distrustful of leadership and some work for change from within. My thought here—and frankly I avoid social media like the plague as no hearts and minds ever seem to change when the perspective is “Why not just shut up and move on?”—-is that CBs thoughts on this issue are likely shared by a relatively high percentage of players. I have no great insight as to the exact numbers, but using society as a whole, figuring the demographic of the sport (young men, exceptionally gifted athletically, likely deified from the time they played Pop Warner, with an “I’m invincible mindset”, it seem logical. On the other side of “Who are you to tell me what to do” of course is the Union, shot at glory and payday that they have worked their whole life to attain. Money talks, so folks who might agree of at least support Beasley without the $$$ and status to take that stance likely just follow the rules. Hell, they already risk injury to life and limb everyday. I want Beasley to play, contribute and help the Bills win a super bowl. Still, in the grand scheme of things, its not as important to me as it used to be. I figure this distraction, if it is a distraction, is like most others. The GM and coach have to figure it out, and things will be resolved one way or the other.

Of course, one of the fundamental objectives of organized labor is to consider the well being of the collective, draw a line in the sand and push for change. Many of the positive changes that came as a result of organized labor started with a rabble rouser somewhere.

This is the beauty of dialogue and the subjective nature of political analysis. Joe Biden’s persona was built upon the illusion that he was the Scranton tough guy. Before he began to fail noticeably, he was combative, loud, dismissive, disrespectful and a running joke because of his eccentricities and tendency to brag about accomplishments that were made up on the spot. He exhibited all the elements noted during his debate with Paul Ryan, to the extent that the appearance was memorialized on SNL. Fast forward to today, he’s an object of pity, bullied by a barbarian, forgetful and eccentric because what older person doesn’t fantasize aloud about sucking blood on national tv, the nature of blackness and the like when running for the highest office in the land? I suppose one argument that could be made is that if you do fantasize about sucking blood, hey man, run for President because then you get to choose from the top talent when you finally take the plunge. Biden’s mental decline—were he not a world class master baiter of a politician—-would typically precede the kindly old dentist retiring from your town, the pharmacist with 5 decades of service signing off, or the adult children of a fiercely independent parent sitting down to discuss turning in the car keys. That’s not what we’re talking about here. He seems to be shaking apart at the seams, each experience slightly worse than the last. But, we all see what we want to see in candidates, election fraud, vaxx and so on.

I think much of the “communicate and collaborate like adults” stems from the cover provided by the media for the Biden admin. If, every time Biden lost his train of thought, forgot where he was or was presented wandering about like an old man in a rest home, there were 37 media outlets engaging in circular reporting about his mental acumen or odd fascination with young ladies crossing their legs, the perception would be quite different. If his cabinet choices were thoroughly vetted and controversial statements and positions became the focus of media ire, each collectively covered with “breaking news” or “prior comments”, the appearance would be far different than what we see today. At the same time, it’s fair to acknowledge Trump’s lack of govt experience & hiring/firing style was part of his problem, unrelated to media coverage, and Biden’s 50 year Washington insider status left him well-prepared to work the machine. This is basic human psychology, and media companies use it to push the narrative they want to push. Heck, put Biden on a circular media file on his infamous Declaration of Independence speech for two weeks before the election and the entire game changes.

The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This episode was just another stain on our system. Accuse someone of something impossible to disprove, provide no credible information to back up the claim, offer conflicting versions of the alleged event, and follow up with the public disembowelment of an individual with decades of stellar public service to the country. The goal was always to send a message to the next person about having the wrong belief system. Btw one of my favorite memories of that process was Rush Limbaugh calling her Dr. Ballsy Ford. -
Joe was always a dimwit generally, affable back in the day and likable in the backslapping guffawing standard of his era. He was likable in that sense, so his tendency to plagiarize and say the most god-awfully insensitive things was tolerated. He is a product of his era, though the dem voters of the day--the parents and grandparents of today's wokesters correctly identified him as a guy who was ok, but only to a point. That point seemed to be....you can stick around in the senate, but there's no way in hell you're going to the WH. In that vein, while a rambling fool these days, I'd spot him the silly joke even though it makes little sense in context. This isn't his big challenge imo. There are clips of him experiencing substantial brain freeze, losing track of what he's saying and never making it back to the point. He's rocking pudding in the cranium.

The clip from his town hall the other night, was like watching an elderly person declare they needed to use the bathroom, get up, walk to the refrigerator, move the eggs from one side to the other, return to their chair, sit down and state they needed to buy more eggs next time they go shopping. One could argue they stayed in the house, so in the end, it was a win and all is fine.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, Johnny, but kudos to you for acknowledging the obvious with respect to Biden’s mental health. Oldie is an emotional soul, but this “Biden just has a stutter” thing is silly. That’s bad enough, but the whole arbiter of what people can think or say about Biden’s diminished capacity is just sad.
-
Regardless of one’s view of the man Biden once was, he’s a shell of that man and the slide is obvious. The stuttering excuse is an affront to folks who deal with that affliction, but it provides cover for those emotional souls unwilling to acknowledge participation in this debacle. It’s no different than his “apology” for groping women.

The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I trust Tara Reade, a woman brave enough to tell the story of the perversion of Joe Biden and how he helped himself to her body, and how folks sent the message that only some women mattered. But that wasn’t the question, was it? I’m assuming you don’t blindly trust the media or you would have simply said so. You brought it up. -
The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Really? You blindly trust the media? In virtual every instance, the goal of the media is to make money. They sell a product to a target audience, in this case "news", to generate sufficient interest to attract advertisers. Where else do you place unconditional trust? Amazon? Google? Thom McCann? GEICO? They're pimping a product, you should always question the agenda behind it. -
I acknowledge there are people who feel that way, but it goes with political life and ambition. Your boy Biden has Tara Reade and you elected him leader. People analyze details and make determinations based on what they believe. As I said to Billy, you know this. Don’t be disingenuous just because you’re a Penn State fan. What on earth does Clooney have on you people!
