The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

I feel like this isn’t the correct answer, but my gut tells me to go with 26%. 26%? -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Pressure on politicians to f#$& with the economy again by requiring vaccinated people to wear a mask indoors (or at all)? Many of the polis didn’t mask up when the crisis was running amok. It’s one of the reasons that some people think the vaccine is unnecessary. We have a fragile balance right now, people getting vaxxed, others exercising the right not to. Why confuse the issue further? Disclaimer: I know the answer—COVID, masking, and lockdowns for the complaint were treated like political fodder, and the same sh*tbirds who f*cked it up the first time are still in charge. -
The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
In those crazy early days of the virus, where the Fauc and his crew were pimpin' lockdowns and 3 people from 2 different apartments sharing the same air would kill the world, it was completely understandable that we really, really, really, really, really, really, really needed to wait for the data on whether or not CSPVH (Cause-specific Polysystic Virus Hover) was a real thing. Of course we knew the virus hovered over the tens of thousands of people crammed together on a block in Minneapolis--that was obvious obviously---but now we know that not every group and every social cause will benefit. CSPVH is real, so mask up freedom fighters, protest virtually, and flatten the curve--or stand next to a dem politician, a BLM protest or one of Biden's grandchildren. -
Hold on!! I thought consent was assumed in all “Would ya” posts? This is scandalous!

I’m not disturbed in the least by that outfit, but something about a fitness model posing in a filthy airport bathroom on a floor where p**** hair is the most abundant cash crop absolutely disturbs me. I’d power through it, probably, but firemen and police officers are the real heroes.

I think the problem is when you attempt to engage, he vomits questions that he sees as the Holy Grail of irrefutable arguments and ends up looking silly. Case in point. “How many White Supremacists dressed up in Antifa-face….” Etc. So, the response of zero, six, fourteen, leventy-leven, Infinity is proffered, all speculation, solves nothing and certainly does not address the fundamental question for @BillStime…why does it even matter? I offered up that if WS were the root cause of the suffering they are part of the problem at the Capitol or across America as we saw last summer. Old Billsy seems to be all about victimizing only the right types of people, and it’s only ok if the victimizers carry out their deeds under his flag. I've said it before, you put a guy with that sort of attitude and Intolerance in 1950s America he’s finding someone to hate—Italian, Irish, Jewish, black and he’s a hop skip and a jump away from carrying the gas can to the cross burning.

I understood the question, I’ve addressed the question and my thoughts on extremists of any sort attacking, injuring/killing law enforcement officers and citizens in general. You seem hyper-fixated here, but that’s an issue for you to noodle on about, I can’t help you there. God bless and prayer up.
-
I encourage you to ask any question you choose, I’ll disregard those that make no sense to me in context. That seems a fair middle ground, wouldn’t you agree? I’m unclear on your position. You seem to be advocating for the MSM to protect antifa members or white supremacists acting as antifa/BLM supported when they attacked enforcement officers at locations other than the Capitol. At the same time, you referred to an unknown assailant beating a police officer as “sick”, perhaps because it’s at the Capitol. I agree that the video is disturbing and sick barely covers it. When I see an individual assaulting an officer, police officers being maimed and killed, read about gang assaults and see them play out on our streets, I find them equally disturbing. Do you? I mentioned earlier antifa mobs (or deftly clothed extremists of another stripe) assaulting citizens on the street. Some of the video is quite graphic. There is a ton of video for riots where businesses were set on fire, people losing their livelihoods. Do you find that sort of thing sick as well, even if the victims are folks you despise (officers, Trump supporters, postmen, delivery people etc)?
-
The issue with police officers being targeted, as portrayed in the video link you shared, is the issue at hand. I’d think if that bothered you or made you sick to your stomach (and for the record, I don’t think it bothered you in the least), the much larger issue is that officers are being targeted in part because they’ve been made out to be the target, usually by MSM talking heads and intolerant leftists. If you feel that the discussion should be expanded to include extremists including white supremacists that target the police, you’ll find no argument from me. I guess I’m still left to wonder why you support these officers and callously disregard officers and citizens targeted by the people you support.
-
Here’s the issue, law enforcement officials face this sort of danger on almost a daily basis. The riotous behavior of folks acting just like this, or worse was largely ignored by the msm all last summer. Officers are being ambushed, shot, wounded and killed, yet we hear about mostly peaceful protests. A guy like Michael Brown, who met his fate in a way that was tragically quite predictable is a martyr, the officer who shot him portrayed as a villain. In the world of leftists, these a$$holes are typically described as “unarmed”. Btw, video is readily available showing gangs of masked antifa scumbags assaulting people on the streets, broad daylight, with nothing being done about it. The video you shared is sick, the videos of other people being assaulted fall directly into that category as well.
-
I supported the officer at the time, recognized that the inherent danger of acting as she did that day, and the likelihood of a tragic outcome when someone behaves as such. I don’t understand the secrecy and lack of transparency thereafter. We can quickly find the name of virtually every officer who has discharged his/her weapon and had a full scale investigation into Michael Brown’s demise after he assaulted an officer and presumably would have killed him given the chance. After a while, it’s natural to question what might have happened here, who the officer is, and what his/her background is.

He now says he was taken wildly out of context when he said it's the government's business to know who is vaccinated. I'm not sure how that happens. -

Odd habits and I are old friends. I trust my instincts on this sort of thing, weeding out wannabes and ne'erdowells. Admittedly, some folks pretend to be something they are not, so I could miss a time or two. Overall, it seems to work for me. Best of luck with the trip! -

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

That's pretty much everybody who's anybody, no? Fauci attends a baseball game, ignores his own advice and CDC guidance on masks and social distancing, makes excuses about being a target of mischief makers. He also waffles on masks, is less than transparent on US involvement in Wuhan, and is tepid on virus spreading during times of protest. Newsom locks down Cali, ignores Fauci and CDC guidance on mask/SD, multiple households interacting, and restaurant service indoors. Harris suggests a vaccine created under the Trump admin is perhaps less trustworthy than a vaccine created under the Trump admin but rolled out under Biden. As the first female person of color to hold VP spot, one can only imagine the impact her words had on those folks traditionally identified as vaccine hesitant. Biden admin figures it's worth the risk to throw a sick inaug rager at the height of the pandemic, and some of the most vocal proponents of lockdowns and strict measures obviously must travel to DC for the party. Cuomo softens COVID travel/quarantine rules, but implements substantial travel/quarantine hardship upon some NYers while exposing all of us to threat of spread by eliminating any requirements whatsoever for folks traveling into NY for work/pleasure from the tri-state area. In summary, I could be sitting on a plane next to a resident of Hartford, Ct, traveling back from Florida. My obligation according to the gov was test/quarantine/test/wait. My seat mate's obligation was "Hey, whatever, see you in White Plains tomorrow.". Shoot--here's a website that lays it out: https://datavisualizations.heritage.org/public-health/covid-hypocrisy-policymakers-breaking-their-own-rules/ Of course, the biggest issue has long been the mysterious case of 'virus hover' over social justice demonstrations. People have an innate ability to recognize and reject bullshyt at the political level, especially when someone in authority is trying to convince you that standing in long-assed line at the Home Depot is juxtaposed with watching 10,000 people marching and huddling closely together in a public park with nary a word about the dangers posed therein. People don't trust government, generally, because the reality is that times government has proven to be untrustworthy are not few and far between. Such is life. -

I defer to folks with expertise on these issues for a variety of reasons. My commentary comes as the guy sitting in row 22, seat B, sitting next to the chubster who ordered the tuna sub from Subway to eat on the hot shot from Syracuse to Punta Gorda as I leave the seasonal affectation disorder and -5 wind chills in the rear view. I love the convenience of airline travel, have flown often and 95% of the time without incident. Several years ago, we were rerouted from Cancun to Ft Lauderdale due to weather conditions at LaGuardia. We landed, sat on the ground for about 5 hours and were not allowed to deplane as we were not cleared through customs (or whatever they call that). It was frustrating, of course, made worse when some big cat a few rows back started acting up. Anxiety, trouble in his home life, on his way to a funeral, general discomfort or whatever the cause I cannot say. He was loud, boisterous, on a cell phone with Jet Blue corporate, demanding to get off the plane. This created a ruckus as other passengers got upset, words exchanged and I began moving my three young children around in case things got really ugly. Eventually, a fit looking young man with a sidearm and in a uniform boarded the plane, strode back casually, hand on his firearm and asked directly if the guy had a problem. When he demanded to get off the plane, the officer said “It’s not going to happen the way you think, I need you to calm down for everybody’s sake.”. That solved the problem. So, it sucked—the entire process. I’d have gotten off the plane, definitely didn’t understand whatever keep us on the plane in the moment at the time, but ultimately was glad things didn’t get You Tube ugly. The airline handled it, just as they did in this scenario. They handled a problem they didn’t create, had no control over, on a plane where 96% of the stakeholders were frustrated but managed to hold their &$#@ together and where one guy struggled to do so and a few others engaged. The attendants did a good job generally, though I seem to recall one adopted a DMV style approach which did not help. Unfortunately for the good folks in this case, the handling involved canceling the flight. That’s really the definition of handling it, and it certainly sucked for many. I’m all for tossing the dbags that created the mess in the gulag, civil penalties, or even mandatory free-for-all sky dives for the 30 with 29 functioning parachutes. What @sherpa has laid out seems quite logical to me, and takes into account all the dominos that tend to fall when humble folk simply wonder why the &$#@ they didn’t just kick the dbags off and get moving. -
That a post of less than 50 words could be ironic on so many levels makes the internet such a special place.

I thought it was because someone said someone else said that someone said something to someone. That should go under the thread that is titled “Stuff people said someone else said they said”. The burden of proof is much, much lower there than in this “Trump is a fascist” (sponsored by Metamucil) thread.

Settle down Captain Threadnanny. I’ll proceed as I see fit, and we both know this to be true. -
Prior to the election, a contingent of high profile democrats expressed doubt and concern about election security. These included Sens Warren and Klobuchar. Both of these individuals contended for the nomination to the highest office in the land. There were concerns about production, oversight, hackability, and sowed serious doubt about the ability of Americans to trust in the outcome of our election. There was no pearl clutching, swooning or widespread condemnation of these very powerful people denigrating our election security with anti-American rhetoric. https://www.warren.senate.gov/oversight/letters/warren-klobuchar-wyden-and-pocan-investigate-vulnerabilities-and-shortcomings-of-election-technology-industry-with-ties-to-private-equity This was 11 mos before the election, and suddenly, as if by magic, we transitioned into the most secure election ever as a pandemic raged and the economy locked down. Nothing to see here, it never happened and that’s that. The only question post Biden-Trump was who was going to be complaining the election was fixed. It had already worked once—as the Dems ran their 48 month collusion campaign suggesting Trump was a Rooskie.

It’s just that sometimes you’re having dialogue with yourself, and other times your posts remind me of something White Goodman would say in Dodgeball. The former is boring, but in fairness the latter kind of funny. Back in da dizzay is slightly off the rails tonight. He’s yammering on (mostly to himself), apparently missed the Spitzer resignation and has all sorts a Matt Gaetz on his mind. I think he’s a fan. Backindadizzay:
