I don’t know about that, but I think it’s fair to say they ran their race. -

It may be too soon for those lamenting just what went wrong in the Kyle Rittenhouse Self Defense case, but if legit, this is ball busting at a Doctorate level. On the plus side, Grosskreutz apparently believes the Rittenhouse encounter was a one off. -

It’s weird, but you took away tracking data and I read a tragic story about young healthy people being victimized by a system that prioritizes extreme knee jerk reactions by people who clearly should not be in charge of decision making. It’s like the old business meeting parlor game, where the lead whispers “Hey, just be smart and safe and all will be well” into the ear of the first person, and the message 100 people later is revealed as “Breathing is deadly so why even *&$#ing bother anymore?”. My son graduated college in May, the college he attended managed everything pre/post COVID horribly. When they called recently for donations I asked for the Dean of Students to reach out to have some dialogue about our experience—no call back as of yet. -

I keep wondering when you were going to let us all in on how you PPPunk’d us all last night with this OK gesture thing. Yet here you are, still rolling along with it, day 2. Is it your contention that the OK sign must now be relegated to the junk pile of history because some nudnix decided to co-opt it for sport? I see this silliness as not much more than one of those Facebook hacks where we discover that a knife can be used as a screwdriver, you can program your iPad to call 911 by pressing/holding/option/controlshift/lock/the g key/%/pound (or hashtag) , or if you solder a fish hook to a 5/8th carriage bolt you can open your garage door without the opener (do NOT use metric carriage boots in the continental, obviously). For decades the Hells Angels rode Harleys, wore Harley gear, and ran drug/prostitution/protection rackets and killed a person or two and yet we found our way through it. Now accountants, lawyers, financial planners and folks from all walks of life proudly rock the colors. We survived, and no one got banned from 2bd to my knowledge. What about Oklahoma? I’ve never been, have no idea if wind sweeps down the plains, but is Oklahoma not OK anymore? Most importantly, why the disregard for President Biden using the supremacy sign? Why is that a non-issue for you? You’re riding hard like a Regulator for @B-Man, but Biden’s racial discourse and deep and abiding friendships with people known to partner with the klan is a matter of public record. What’s going on here? -

You’re off the deep end, calling Eddie Murphy out! He was great in that movie. Sit down, have a drink, reflect on the 0.00 batting average of the prosecution. You’ll feel better eventually. -

You got it. This is probably the turning point of the case, and where the jury decided that Kyle Rittenhouse was guilty on all counts. The “medical pack question”…they’ll debate it forever in law school across the country. Oh….wait. The question (and answer) didn’t stick with them at all. They sent him home, exonerated. How long are you going to run this silly grift? -

I’m a meet in the middle guy on most issues, though I have things that are important to me and I dig in. The people involved in violence and the assault on the Capitol should be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Whomever was responsible for security of our elected officials—cretins though they often seem to be—should be relieved of their duties and be charged criminally if such charges are warranted. It seems to me, however, that a conversation about Trump’s actions and the “Stop the Steal” movement broadly is incomplete without acknowledgement of the assault and attempt to undermine the American process that took place during the Russia saga. Put another way, it’s all well and good to hilight finger-pointing and division, but honest dialogue requires honesty. “Stop the steal” likely never happens without the “Trump = coup”, “Trump = treason” and the attempt to remove him from office.

I feel like we’re already seeing this, across the country, for extended periods of time over, though not limited to, the last couple years. Admittedly, the people I’m thinking of have no interest in fame. They also don’t seem to be viewed as newsworthy of a KR-reasons unknown. -

The prosecution had the opportunity to cross examine a person they chose to frame as a low budget serial killer. All they had to do was crack a kid from Kenosha. The stage was set and then… They White Goodmanned the #$&@ out of this thing. -

Yowza. The prosecution had limitless resources, the full weight of the state of Wisconsin, access to videos, witnesses, resources and an inordinate amount of time to prep for the case. They played fast and loose with justice, attempted to smear the defendant for exercising the fundamental right to remain silent, and have been accused of withholding exculpatory evidence from the defense. They had the wildly popular President Biden on their side calling the defendant a white supremacist, and the support of many mainstream Dems. They had their fingers knuckles deep in choosing just the right type of jurors. With everything on their side, they failed in everything they did. The jury rejected every count. Let that sink in. The case was so bad that after months and months of preparation, strategizing, planning and marketing the case, they got skunked. On the other side, you’ve got a guy with his life on the line, not necessarily a sympathetic figure. He has the courage to get on the stand and tell his story, something we likely all agree is very dangerous when the other side is trying to hurt you, crack you, destroy you. The end result is complete exoneration. Still, defending ones life ain’t cheap, and his legal fees must be exorbitant. I can understand his mom’s appeal for charity. -

I stand corrected—I was wrong on how the jury would decide. It takes nads of stone to return this verdict in spite of problems with the prosecutions case. I think you summed it up correctly. -
A decade or so ago, a friend and I took our daughters to see the Jonas Brothers at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in, duh, Saratoga. We sat on the lawn, the place was packed, and every child in close proximity to the next. I blacked out as to how long they played, but the ear-splitting, relentless, high-octave scream went on for the duration. At one point, drummer Jonas was talking about something serious (diabetes, I think), it was very deathly quiet, then he got to this point where he paused and theatrically looked into the camera (and I've come to believe, the heart of every young lady in the joint) and 20,000 or so girls shrieked in unison. I believe that cataclysmic eruption of noise must have been what it was like when the Jerry's blitzkrieged London during the War to end all wars.

T raises a good point though. You’re seemingly outraged over the actions of cartoon characters, yet apparently comfortable with folks in real life doing all sorts of nasty things. The fact that you don’t want to talk about the hypocrisy of your position here, in this moment, at this time is quite revealing. Which was the more egregious action in your opinion—-politically motivated individuals of the dem party en mass prosecuting a non-existent case against a lawfully elected president, dividing the nation in the process, and failing to prove any wrongdoing by said president……or the nutty politician posting a cartoon guy doing cartoony things? -
The facts of the investigation into 1/6 are best determined through a non-partisan criminal investigation, not by people with a vested interest in political innuendo, grandstanding, selective leaking, media manipulation and an insatiable thirst for power. Also, it’s my humble opinion that you’ll never be Speaker of the House if you run on the integrity platform.

I’m not victim shaming, and I’m not on the jury having considered all the facts down to the excruciating detail. I am considering what I know about the case based on news accounts, some video footage, some witness testimony and a clear understanding that Kenosha was being sacked and pillaged that night. You asked what was “most reasonable” so I answered. I could be wrong, you could be right and Rittenhouse was an active shooter looking to victimize anyone and everyone possible that night, and found three. It just doesn’t seem reasonable. I answered the question about why he may not have turned himself in earlier, but following your logic that he shot innocent people, why did he turn himself in at all? -
I may have missed an earlier post, but you were at Riverfront the night the kids died? That’s nuts, what a horrible and crazy thing. I saw The Who/The Clash at Rich in 1982. We were drinking Grandad and Ginger Ale out of a large cooler, something I hadn’t done before and have not done since. Great show, glad I was there and I see the pictures now and think “Holy Sh*t That’s a lot of people!”.

Bob Seger with The Cars opening in Sept, 1978. Great time—-beers in a parking lot under an overpass near the Aud. Great show, great energy. Alto Reed (sax player for The Silver Bullet Band) is suddenly up in the crowd walking along a balcony playing. Oh, and when I say up in the crowd, we were looking down from the Oranges.

I don’t think you made that clear at all. When I asked you what documents and statements Bannon and Meadows were bringing to the table, you suggested the impact for D politicians was akin to opening Christmas presents to see if there was anything good in the box. You acknowledged the tribunal was a political endeavor, you certainly had the option to reveal that the committee was always and only about truth, justice and facts wherever they lead. You didn’t, probably in part because you know it to be patently false, partly because no one likes to feel that dirty even on an anonymous internet site. We are not animale, right? It’s a witch hunt. A fishing expedition. A political event. That’s the facts, and now you know.

I’m not sure I follow you. Who is arguing everyone in Kenosha was a lawless rioter? There were people who were being victimized, people trying to lend a hand, law enforcement officials and apparently a few people skateboarding to a campfire sponsored by the National Association of Adults Who Victimize Children (NAAWVC). What seems most reasonable to me is the folks who set upon KR were intent in doing him harm, though perhaps not to the extent that they would take his life, maybe just leave him with a traumatic brain injury. I think that because chaos was the order of the day,s one people love chaos and victimizing people who can’t or won’t fight back, and sometimes even those who do. It’s also possible that they saw KR as an easy mark, and an AR-15 as a pretty good score on Loot N Shoot night. No idea why he would call a friend, but I’d hazard a guess that the shooting left him traumatized and he reached out to someone he trusted for reassurance. If he’s guilty of violating gun regulations, he should be held accountable for that. If he assassinated the victims he should be held accountable for that as well. However, there are clearly, demonstrably and indisputable facts that cast doubt and raise questions on where you’re going with all this. -

The initial call on J&J effectiveness was 8 months, and there was a pause on the J&J vax as they investigated concerns about dangerous side effects. It was touted as a one and done shot v the Pfizer twofer, with the question of booster shots tbd. Missing by 6 months on an 8 month window seems…crazy. To at least, reason to question what else they missed on.
