  1. NY has a medical cannabis program though the program has been developing slowly. Both CBD and THC products are available NY medical cannabis dispensary Pharmacannis currently offers vaporizor cartridges as well as cannabis concentrate capsules and tinctures. While things appear to be changing, NY does not currently offer raw cannabis in dispensaries http://www.pharmacannis.com/sites/default/files/ProductList_4.24.2018-01.pdf Here is some research. It is #3 in a five part article series but the first 2 are more historical https://www.foundationforpn.org/2017/02/09/peripheral-neuropathy-treatment-medical-cannabis-how-cannabis-works/
  2. RSO (Rick Simpson Oil or cannabis concentrate oil) has been shown to help some cancer patients reduce the size and/or number of their tumors. The web has hundreds if not thousands of patient testimonials claiming cannabis oil has helped them 'beat back' a wide variety of cancers. There are animal studies showing that cannabinoids can be effective in getting cancer cells to commit suicide (apoptosis) and in starving tumors of blood supply. It seems apparent that cannabinoids and the body's endo-cannabinoid system have a role in suppressing cancer development in healthy individuals and so a possible role in treating cancers in unhealthy individuals. Given that cannabinoids are very well tolerated and do not harm healthy cells, to me anyway, cannabis based medicines show great promise in this area. Unfortunately, I have also witnessed many cases where sadly the RSO had little anti-tumor impact and the patient passed away from their cancer. The question for a long time for those of us that have seen both outcomes has been, why? Why is it miraculous for some and all but useless to others? Dedi Meiri, an Israeli researcher, and his team are attempting to answer that question. His team is compiling two databases - one a cannabis strain DB and the other a cancer patient DB - and attempting to match the cannabis strains to the types of cancer it can impact. They are determining which strains of cannabis were effective against what types of cancers. His research group is also now able to breakdown the RSO into all of the plant's cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids - over 150 compounds. Once they determine effective strains against a given cancer, they cross reference to determine which of the 150 compounds within the strains were common. In other words, they are homing in on exactly which cannabinoid, or combination of cannabinoids/terpenes/flavonoids, are the effective components in the fight. Once determined, these compounds can be isolated, bred up, or synthesized to hopefully design an effective anti-cancer treatment. Instead of treating all tumor types with RSO, a much more targeted approach can be tried. The first video is sort of an informal talk but very informative. It is 7-8 minutes long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txywY2CyfKA&t=256s In the second video Dr Meiri talks about both cancer and autism. It is 18 minutes long

  4. Israeli autism study https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/249591 From the article The study included 60 children, with an average age of 12, whose condition had not improved with conventional drug therapy. The children were treated using cannabis oil with a concentration of 20% CBD and 1% THC for at least seven months. THC is the main psychoactive ingredient in the marijuana plant. CBD, on the other hand, has no psychoactive effect. At the end of the treatment period, the children's parents filled out questionnaires to assess the change in their condition. The parents were asked whether they had noticed a change in their child's behavior, the extent of their child's anxiety and whether their child's communication abilities had changed. 80% of the children’s parents who participated in the study reported a decrease in problematic behavior, with 62% percent reporting that their child's behavior improved significantly.
  5. Andre Reed gets involved in Medical Cannabis https://finance.yahoo.com/news/pro-football-hall-famer-andre-130000588.html "We are thrilled to work with individuals like Andre Reed, who has not only had a great experience with this incredibly beneficial supplement, but also wants to help share this experience with others," said Medical Marijuana, Inc. CEO Dr. Stuart Titus. "We hope that this type of support and education helps us increase public awareness of CBD's many health and wellness benefits."
  6. Yesterday the FDA approved this cannabis based medicine for 2 forms of child onset epilepsy. The DEA is yet to rule https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fda-approves-epidiolex-first-marijuana-based-drug-for-seizures/ U.S. health regulators on Monday approved the first prescription drug made from marijuana, a milestone that could spur more research into a drug that remains illegal under federal law, despite growing legalization for recreational and medical use. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the medication, called Epidiolex, to treat two rare forms of epilepsy that begin in childhood. But it's not quite medical marijuana.
  7. This is the most incredible part of the whole FBI/CIA/Justice/Press/Obama/Brennan/Clapper/Comey/Rosenstein/Strzok/Page/Ryan/Gowdy/McConnel/etc,etc conspiracy - all working together, they could not get the results that they all conspired to achieve. These are some of the most powerful people on the planet working with plenty of government funding yet they were too inept to sway a few thousand voters in key states?
  8. Allegedly Manafort was crooked as hell before being Trump's campaign manager. Obviously now we see new allegations that Paul Manafort is currently crooked as hell. Isn't it amazing that he was so pure of heart and innocent while working with Trump?
  9. Didn't you see all the pictures that we got? Beautiful, really amazingly beautiful photos....and lots of them. People are saying that these are some of the most amazing photos they have ever seen. I mean, really, really beautiful, historic photos. Some have said, bigger than Nixon in China....way more historic. Most don't know this, but we got many, many more photos than Nixon got in China. Really, really historic and beautiful photos. Obama didn't get any in 8 years and here we are a year and half in and we have thousands and thousands of amazing, really beautiful photos.

  11. I try to check out the 'news' from many sources and I was watching Fox and Friends this morning. The Trump interview and following Q&A was absolutely bizarre. He did say the quote just above but later claimed he wasn't serious. The relationship between Fox and Trump should trouble you a bit if you feel the press should be a check on politicians. Trump is certainly favoring Fox in exchange for praise and leading questions.
  12. Some detailed information on how to utilize cannabis to reduce pain management opiate use. Dr Dustin Sulak is based in Maine but has put a good deal of medical cannabis information on line. See his healer.com site. https://www.leafly.com/news/health/using-cannabis-to-reduce-opioid-dependence Like the reports in the scientific literature, I’ve seen the same positive results firsthand in my medical practices. From a survey of our patients in 2016, of the 542 opioid users who added cannabis: 39% were able to completely stop opioid use 39% used cannabis to reduce their opioid dosage Adding cannabis reduced pain by more than 40% in nearly half the patients and improved function in 80% In 87% of patients, it improved quality of life https://healer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Healer-Medical-Cannabis-Opioid-Guide.pdf https://healer.com

  15. Please, give up your medical license. You are an idiot, to borrow a popular phrase. You know though, maybe you are a doctor. You seem pretty concerned with covering your ass. Having problems getting malpractice insurance after that regrettable incident, are ya? lol You really should include sources when you quote study results. Let's say at least some of your stats are accurate, just for argument's sake. No one is suggesting replacing breakfast cereal with cannabis. No one is saying it is harmless. No one is advocating widespread adolescent use either, though there is this recent study. https://www.livescience.com/61574-adolescent-cannabis-use-memory-study.html What I have stated is when current FDA options are not effective or when the side effects are too horrible, cannabis should be considered as a reasonable alternative. I also think that time will prove that the use of cannabis medicines, in many cases, should be tried before today's FDA approved front line treatments for many maladies. Closed minded doctors are doing a disservice to their patients. The main problem I see with the bulk of your stats is that we should see corresponding spikes in these cannabis side effects with increased cannabis use in a given population. Consider the hypothesis that cannabis causes schizophrenia. With increased cannabis usage we should see a spike in schizophrenia, but we do not see that. The same point I made to you a few pages ago when you pulled out your cannabis heart failure studies. We all know that the federal scheduling hasn't allowed widespread testing of cannabis for it's acclaimed medical effects - the GW Pharmaceuticals clinical trials being the exception. Let me ask you, can you point to US double blinded trials that proved that the medical claims regarding cannabis were false? Please don't use studies sponsored by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) due to the inherent bias. Thanks internet doc.
  16. I gotta call BS on your claim of being a doctor. Or, if you are in fact a a doctor, please get out of that line of work. Someone unwilling to change their opinion in the face of new information, has no business treating people. Step aside for younger, brighter doctors who are willing to adapt. It would be best for your patients, imo.
  17. Dateline Sunday had a medical cannabis segment. I have just started watching it https://www.nbc.com/dateline/video/growing-promise/3724415

  19. GW Pharmaceuticals is taking the FDA route with Epidiolex. They have successfully completed phase 1-3 trials and gotten unanimous approval from an FDA advisory panel. If I recall, the FDA will make a decision on or before 6/27/18. After that, the DEA will decide if they will allow Epidiolex in spite of the schedule 1 designation for whole cannabis - a dual schedule. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/19/health/epidiolex-fda-cannabis-marajuana.html http://gwpharm.com/about-us/news/gw-pharmaceuticals-announces-unanimous-positive-result-fda-advisory-committee-meeting
  20. At this time, the CNN Weed 4: Pot vs Pills is available on youtube if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R90JW1fTw8U
  21. Is it really the smartest thing for Trump to do? If his administration is innocent, without a doubt then letting it play out is the wise move. A Mueller exoneration would likely be the best way to clear Trump. Hypothetically lets suppose he and his people are guilty of some serious misdeeds and Trump knows full well that the serious misdeeds will be revealed if the Mueller investigation goes to completion. (Recall I said hypothetically.) Now, given those suppositions, would letting the investigation play out be the smartest course? So many of Trump's allies are telling him the same thing - 'Don't fire Mueller. Just let it play out'. I think these allies assume Mueller's charges will not rise to the level of impeachable offenses. So...if Trump does start the dominoes falling by ordering Mueller's firing, it would seem extremely likely that Trump is trying to cover up some serious misdeeds. Time will tell but it looks to me like he is preparing to have Mueller fired. Those allies might want to start concocting their 'crazy like a fox' explanations to explain why Trump was actually brilliant to fire Mueller.
  22. I just watched Weed 4 - Pot vs Pills. It was pretty interesting and much more NFL oriented than I expected. It follows a player applying for an exemption from the NFL so that he can use medical cannabis in 2018. It replays tonight at 11pm eastern on CNN and I am fairly certain that they will replay it again sometime over the next few weeks. Might want to set the DVR.
  23. Weed 4 from CNN's Sanjay Gupta is premiering Sunday, 4/29, @ 8pm eastern Here is the video preview https://www.cnn.com/videos/health/2018/04/23/weed-4-pot-vs-pills-trailer.cnn
  24. Sure thing hoss. Anything for you.
