Draft Stetson Bennett as our backup.
SectionC3 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly what I was thinking re: Fromm. In any event, I think we're in UDFA territory on that issue given our relative dearth of picks. -
I think that was the day the Challenger exploded. I do believe Buffalo had an earthquake that day.

Felt it in OP.

Trubisky, if he comes relatively cheaply.

What Are Your Expectations For The 2023 Season?
SectionC3 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m an optimist by nature. And I believe that if you’re not failing, you’re not trying. We gotta be smart and defiant in the face of defeat. The best path forward is to double down on Josh, hope that some scheme tweaks are enough on D, and keep on pounding on that rock. It will break one day. And the harder we hit it, the sooner it will break. Never, ever give up. -
Should we trade Ed Oliver?

To whom and for what? If it’s the Hunter Renfrow deal, yes all day long. Renfrow scores touchdowns. -
What Are Your Expectations For The 2023 Season?
SectionC3 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ll chime in after FA and the draft. At this point, as long as McD is sincere about the honesty comment in his post-season presser, Super Bowl. Fix the o-line, re-tool the WR room, and hope that we outscore teams and the D is good enough with tweaks in coaching and philosophy. Also, I suspect we’ve reached the stage in the “culture” process at which we’re going to see some scumbags come into the locker room because they have a desirable combination of talent and economy. -
Im convinced its coaching (Chiefs showing how to handle Bengals)
SectionC3 replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
We drafted a press corner in the first round last year. Lucked into a really good zone corner later. Then we proceeded not to press, and scratched the zone corner for the press guy so the press guy could play zone in the divisional round. -
I don’t watch film, so my observations of this guy are based on game play, and specifically pre-season game play. He’s obviously undersized, and he plays surprisingly slow. I thought Spector played faster than Bernard in the PS. Maybe the hope was to use him on ST, have him in an NFL SC program last year and this offseason, and get him primed to be LB3 this year and an eventual Milano replacement. I don’t know. Based on this year’s performance, I have no idea what’s next for him.

This isn’t going to go over well but, aside from Poyer, they all sucked. Hamlin included. No matter who they put in there it couldn’t be figured out. Bad angles, sloppy tackling, brain cramps. It was one thing after another. Say what one will about McD, he turned this team around and he obviously knows what he’s doing. If he saw this guy all year and thought he had to go, then I’m all for it. It’s not to say that we don’t need to change the depth there—maybe we do. But I trust McD’s judgment that coaching in that position group was part of the problem.

I appreciate he was asked to make chicken salad with subpar ingredients, but aide from Poyer the safeties were not good this year. We lost the 1 seed because of Cam Lewis’s brain cramp. Then went through Johnson and Marlowe and Lewis and couldn’t find anyone who could cut it when Poyer was out. This was an easy one for me. The more interesting question that’s coming is whether they blame Chad Hall for the mess at receiver, or whether the receiver room is adjusted this offseason. (Or both, I suppose.)

Buscaglia: Both Bills Coordinators are likely to be back in 2023
SectionC3 replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Informed speculation. But speculation nevertheless. He suspects they’ll both be back. Time will tell. -
Bills Coaching Staff Changes Thread
SectionC3 replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think it means anything other than, no matter what happens at DC, McD didn’t want Salgado around next year. Nothing more, nothing less. If they are going to nuke Frazier, they probably won’t do so until after any HC position at which he might have a look is filled. Probably the same with Dorsey. If he’s on his way out, then it won’t happen likely until tomorrow since Carolina hired Reich only today. -
Bills Coaching Staff Changes Thread
SectionC3 replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
The tweet is meaningless. I’d be dumbfounded if the contract expired before the Super Bowl is scheduled to be played. The better question is whether the contract expires, say, February 28, 2023. In other words, the big issue is whether Frazier is under contract for next season. -
Bills Coaching Staff Changes Thread

This makes a ton of sense. -
We blitzed on the Chase TD. Didn’t get home.

The buck stopped with him in Denver. I can completely agree with you that he is a skilled offensive coach. I disagree about the mess in Denver. He’s hardly alone with respect to culpability. But he is responsible.
-
Agreed. What I really liked about McD’s presser was that he stressed the importance of honesty with themselves. That’s huge. Because, quite honestly, the offense was a mess and there are going to have to be uncomfortable changes on that side of the ball.
-
Denver. Don’t forget Denver. He’s also thought to be the worst coach ever in Denver.

Saffold said guys were "exhausted" this week and "out of gas"

Agreed. The Allen/Diggs hug in Detroit sums it up. Relief, but not joy. -

Bill O’Brien - thoughts about him as OC?
SectionC3 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not sure about that. Depends on the financial commitment. And, to take a step back, McD has us right there. I’m not ready to nuke him yet. (A catastrophic WC loss next year may change my tune.) We shouldn’t forget that Sean Payton was one but a single super bowl, that it took Reid years to get it done, that Sean McVay is a dropped INT from being in the same boat, etc. time to retool and double down in Josh. also, the bet here is that at least one coordinator is gone and that McD is going to take this week to let the HC process shake out and line up replacement(s).
