  1. No Bradlee and Alex are not related...I thought that the first time I heard of Bradlee so I checked into it. thanks for reminding me that Kitna is a free agent this year...I couldnt remember if it was after this year or next.
  2. I'm bored so lets take a look at the NFL QB situation for 2006 AFC East: Buffalo: Losman and Holcomb will still be in town. Matthews is probably heading for retirement. 3rd Qb spot will probably be filled either by a veteran free agent to "Mentor" JP, or another project QB. is Rohan Davey a possibility?? Miami:Frerotte has the job, but Rosenfels has looked solid when he's been on the field. Also Gus will be 35 next season. I have a feeling Sage might edge out the vet for the job. New England:Brady will still be the man (I use the term loosely) for the Pats. Cassel should edge Flutie out of the #2 spot with a strong camp and preseason. New York: Need a lot of work. Pennington's status next year is still unclear. Fielder has never been much of a starter. Vinny, is well, Vinny. Bollinger has been disappointing even for a 3rd stringer. With Pennington's future in doubt look for the Jests to make a move either for Rivers for a 1st day QB in the draft AFC North Baltimore: Boller has shown flashes of greatness, overshadowed by constant injuries and poor play. Anthony Wright looked good last year and sub par this year. Boller most likely will get the nod next year, but the Ravens will be actively looking for a better solution somewhere. Cincinnati:Palmer has been great this year and I'm sure he'll be even better next year when his younger receiver mature just a bit more. Wach out for Cincy next year. Kitna??? Will he be trade bait? Cleveland:Dilfer has been average this year. Not great, but not horrible. As this season comes to an end look for Charlie Frye to get some play time. If Frye shows the ability I believe he has, he'll have a chance to take the #1 position next season. Derek Anderson has a lot of potential (scary word) but is going to be the odd man out in Cleveland. Pittsburgh:Roethisberger has a solid lock on this position. If he stays injury free in 06, you will see him in Hawaii. Maddox seems to have run out of luck in Pitt. Batch will probably take over as #2. I'll be suprised if the Tommy Gun makes it past camp next year. AFC South: Houston: David Carr is the Texans highest paid player and a possible free agent next year. with Houston looking like the clear cut #1 pick next year, will the Texans renew his contract or do they Draft Leinhart and attempt to build around him. Banks and Ragone will most likely be back on the Houston bench next season. Indianapolis: No brainer here, Manning has this team right where he wants it. Sorgi is a solid #2 who continues to get better. Tennessee: McNair has the job as long as he wants it, but will the constant nagging injuries force Steve to call it quits? Billy Volek is waiting in the wings and is a capable starter. However he will be 30 next year and is not a long term solution in my opinion. Jacksonville: Leftwich has all the tools and guts to reach the next level as an NFL QB. If wilford and Jones take a step in the right direction this offseason, Byron and the Jags will be a formidible force in the AFC. AFC West: Oakland: Collins has the job on lock but is now on the wrong side of 30. Andrew Walter the number 3 Qb this year will be the man to watch in camp. Great arm and was a solid QB for Arizona State. I believe he'll make a solid push and take over the #2 spot from Marques Tuiasosopo San Diego: After 2 great season Brees will finally go into a training camp next year without much competition. Even though Brees is in a contract year, San Diego isn't going to mess with a proven QB and Rivers will more than likely be dealt away. Let the bidding begin. Denver: Shannahan has finally let Jake Plummer play QB his way and the results speak for themselves. Bradlee Van Pelt is very similar in ability to Plummer and makes a great understudy. Still I wouldnt be suprised to see Denver pick up a more reliable #2 next season. Kansas City: Trent Green is coming to the end of the road. will he retire with Dick Vermeil after this season? Even if he stays, KC has todd (I was a starter at Michigan) collins and damon huard as their backups. Both are over 30 and Green will be 36 next year. KC will take a QB in this draft, did someone say Omar Jacobs? NFC East: Dallas: Drew Bledsoe brought new life to the Dallas offense in 05 and will more than likely improve in 06. Henson and Romo are the 2 back ups to Bledsoe. Will Henson finally grasp the NFL QB position? Either way, I dont see Dallas making any significant changes at this position. Philadelphia: If McNabb returns to camp healthy and ready to play the Eagles will do well next season. This offseason depends on how well Donovan recovers from his injuries, both physical and mental. If he's not showing significant progress, look for Philly to hunt down a solid #2. Otherwise it'll be McMahon and Detmer backing up in 06. New York: Eli Manning has shown he can play with the big boys. A solid off season with his receivers will make for an explosive 06 campaign. Tim Hasselbeck is a decent back up and Jared Lorenzen isn't as horrid as he might seem. I dont see any major moves at this position for the Giants. Washington: Brunell will be 36 next year, Ramsey wants nothing do with this team any more and Jason Campbell is anxious to get some more playing time. Ramsey will be out of Washington this year one way or another. Brunell will most likely get the start for next year, but dont be suprised is Campbell is the #1 by midseason 06. NFC North: Green Bay: Does Brett Favre retire, or does GB convince him to stick it out one more year? One more year behind Brett would be great for Aaron Rodgers, however if Favre hangs em up, it will be between rodgers and Craig Nall for the starting job. Chicago: Grossman will be back next year, but where will he fit in? Kyle Orton has soon that he can play. Not bad for someone who a lot of scouts thought wouldnt amount to anything at the pro level. I have a feeling Orton will beat out Grossman for the job next year. Minnesota: Can Daunte Culpepper comeback from such a devastating knee injury in time for opening day next season? will he even been in Minnesota at the start of next season. Its no secret Dennis Green is big on Daunte and isnt so interested in his current QB's in arizona. Will there be a trade? If Daunte cant go next season, can the 38 year old Brad Johnson stick it out one more year? time will tell, but dont be suprised is Minnesota makes a move for a QB. Detroit: Mariucci isn't exactly thrilled with Joey Harrington, but Jeff Garcia will be 36 next year. Harrington is going to get one more training camp to prove that he is the man for the job. The darkhorse on this team though is rookie Dan Orlovsky from UConn. Orlovsky has a very strong arm. Strong arm + 3 big play receivers is an equation for lots of points. A solid spring from Orlovsky could have him in the hunt for the starting job in 06. NFC South: Atlanta: Michael Vick is the be all end all, just ask him. Not the greatest passer, but he still gets it done one way or another. No contest for the job here. However, Matt Schaub has shown he can play and is in the final year of his rookie contract. there is a slight chance he might get traded for the right price, but with Ty Detmer the only other QB on the roster, I dont see Schaub going anywhere until 07. New Orleans: Aaron Brooks is a very talented and very inconsistent QB. Never the less, unless Adrian McPherson makes gigantic strides this offseason the saints will have no choice but to go with Brooks. Tampa Bay: Griese will be 31, Chris Simms just isnt his father, and La Tech grads McCown and Rattay are much of an improvement. A healthy Griese will get the nod next season, unless one of the others prove they deserve the job more. Carolina: Delhomme will be the starter again next year and rightly so. Weinke is 3 years older than Jake and with 2 fewer years experience. Weinke did show some signs that he can play, but its too little too late at this point. the question here is how much does Stefan LeFors improve this off season and can he unseat Weinke at #2. NFC West: San Francisco: Alex Smith will have one injury riddled season under his belt but should make some strides in the right direction. Ken Dorsey has played suprisingly well so far and will probably be the #2 next season. Cody Pickett is looking at making a change to wide Reciever. San Fran is going to need to bring in a solid back up next year, but dont forget that WR Rasheed Marshall was a pretty good QB at WVU and dont be suprised if he gets some looks in at QB this offseason. Seattle: Matt Hasselbeck has the job underwraps. Behind him sit David Greene and Seneca Wallace. I think the Seahawks are quite content with their current QB situation and I highly doubt any moves at this position. St. Louis: Marc Bulger is the starter, but has been having problems staying healthy. Jamie Martin is getting old and has been less than stellar backing up Bulger. I heard nothing but good things about 3rd stringer Ryan Fitzpatrick from Harvard. With Martin's age I dont see him in the #2 spot in St. Louis next year, but with the strong possibility of Mike Martz leaving the team its highly uncertain what will happen at this position next season. Arizona: kurt warner is getting old, and hurt. Josh McCown has ability, but is terribly inconsistent and John Navarre is the second coming of Todd Collins. I have a feeling that Denny Green is going to push for Daunte Culpepper, especially if he can get him at a discount rate if Culpepper isnt ready at the beginning of next season. Otherwise, Arizona might end up taking a QB in the draft late the 1st day or early the 2nd and keep the rest of the crew around one more year. Well, those are my thoughts, lets hear what you guys and gals think.
  3. Wait, you are saying Bruschi and Brady are related?
  4. At the bar I started out with a Budweiser Tilt...actually pretty good stuff then a couple Bud Selects now I'm drinking a Labatt blue or 2 then bed.
  5. 2 punches...2 broken jaws....maybe this guy should consider being a boxer
  6. Punts that go wrong??? such as a fumbled punt??? Not exactly sure what you mean there.
  7. On a turn over on downs, you get the ball where it was downed on the play. However, on a field goal attempt, if they miss, you get the ball at the spot where it was kicked.
  8. Thanks...now if they would just use hits as fantasy stats........
  9. Does anyone know how many hits Tedy Bruschi has today??? They arent showing that stat on CBS Bottomline BTW Holcomb can sit down now, his 15 seconds of fame are over
  10. Only fortunately poor punt return blocking is one of the flaws of this years madden...You're gonna need to fair catch a lot.
  11. How many times have you been to Buffalo??? If you havent been the Anchor Bar, or The Pearl Street Bar and Grill those would be two places I'd recommend in a heartbeat.
  12. Its only week 6. We here in Buffalo waited until it was week 8 of his first season with us before we tried to run him out of town. I'm sure Dallas will do the same, because after all he is a horrible QB. /sarcasm
  13. Ok, so Jonas Jennings and Orlando Pace are of the same caliber??? I think not. I was never impressed byJennings while he was in Buffalo, and I'm less than impressed by Mike Gandy so far. But if I had to pick one I'd take Gandy because Jennings demanded a salary that was far above any he displayed on the field. The only thing wrong with letting Jonas go was not spending the money saved to make improvements. I do agree though that McGahee will continue to struggle until we can throw the ball and make the defense respect the pass. You cant run draws all day on defenses expecting the run. Sure JP threw a pick today on an overthrown pass, but how many chances this season has he gotten to throw the ball beyond 8 yards? Not many. Let him throw downfield and make the defenses have to respect the passing game a little bit or continue to play nothing but small ball and continually go 3 and out.
  14. So you are telling me there is no difference between Orlando Pace and Justin Geisinger? They are both pros but that still doesnt mean they are on the same level and capable of the same caliber of play
  15. Lets see... Jonas Jennings is gone and replaces by Mike Gandy (Still not sure which is the lesser of two evils.) Bennie Anderson is the starting left guard instead of Tucker, Pukecillo, and Lawrence Smith. Mike Williams is hurt and Greg Jerman has been replacing him... but other than that, no there have been no changes to the offensive line.
  16. Man too bad the Falcons werent playing in Mexico....
  17. I'm bored so lets get a different kind of thread going. If you had the chance to call out one player or staff member of the bills, who would you call out and what would you say to them? Personally I would call out the play or of the lack thereof of Trey Teague. Trey your play as a center has been mediocre at best. You are constantly looking one direction while a player runs past you on the other side. They have plenty of eye doctors here in Buffalo if you are having vision problems....or maybe you could try looking forward for a change. You've got Duke Preston waiting in the wings. He wants to play and is a heck of a lot cheaper than you. Start earning your keep or start looking forward to spending a lot of time at home... Next
  18. Lets make a comparison if I might here. Cincy drafts Carson Palmer in 03 and he sits the entire year Cincy names Palmer starter in 04 over John Kitna who was 8-8 the year before, Palmer goes 1-3 in his first 4 starts. The Bengals finish the season 8-8 2 games shy of a wild card 2005 Palmer is still the starter with a year of NFL starting experience under his belt and the Bengals are 4-0 and sitting on top of the AFC Central. Man this sounds kinda similar... 2004 The Bills draft JP Losman and he sits the majority of the year minus a few meaning less plays towards the end of the season. (Yes I know he was hurt, but did anyone seriously expect him to start?) 2005 JP is named the starter and so far is 1-3 in his first four starts....Think I see a pattern here 2006 The sky is the limit, as long as we dont run JP out of town like every QB since Jim Kelly We need a little patience here instead of labeling the kid a bust after 4 starts, plus we have 12 more games to play. a 7-5 record in those games isnt that hard to accomplish and I would be content...not happy, but content to have an 8-8 record with a 1st year starting QB. With that said here is what I feel needs to change over the next 12 games: TC needs to put the ball in McGahee's hands at least 25 times a game and quit putting us in positions where we have to pass all the time. Cut the amount of Draw plays called in half...no one is concerned with us passing so they arent going to bite. Trey Teague needs to be moved out of the center position and possibly back to tackle with the absence of Mike Williams. Trey has looked lost since he started playing center. He misses so many plays up the middle its not even funny. Every time I see defensive player get through the middle Trey is always looking some where else Shaud Williams needs to get a few games films of Warrick Dunn and study them every night. And please teach him to take the ankles out from those blitzing...it might be a sissy play but it keeps defenders off our QB on 3rd down. Heck even Deuce McAllister ankle bit Schobel today, but he kept him off of Brooks. Why isnt Terrence McGee returning punts??? Jonathan Smith's 15 mins of fame has been up for about an hour now Nate Clements, you want top corner money??? Start playing like one...top corners dont make stupid mistakes that give teams first downs 2-3 times a game. Coach Mularkey, grow a set and get a little more aggressive when the game is on the line. Punting with 5 mins left in the 4th quarter is a give up play. I'd rather lose 26-7 and have done everything possible to win than lose 19-7 and and walk off the field 5 mins early. Jerry Gray, lets change up the blitz package every once in a while. Clements' blitz that stopped Deuce in the backfield was brilliant...blitzing Milloy once every 2 or 3 plays isnt...quit leaving McGee on an island with Vincent as the only deep protection. Let make the opposing receivers fear a nice big hit from Milloy (especially considering he's playing with a broken thumb and cannot tackle as well) TD, find us a capable TE.... please. Neufeld is next to worthless, Euhus still isnt healthy, and Campbell hasnt been anything to write home about since he's been here. Everett doesnt look like he'll be seeing the field this season. ( I dont recall if he is able to play football or not, but Chad Lewis is currently a free agent and couldnt be any worse than what we already had on this team if he can still play.)
  19. HOw about Willis??? He's looked horrible since the second game this preseason. take away his three big runs last week and his stats were mediocre at best. Also, how bout we run a few pass plays that stretch the field, I've seen Losman throw farther than 20 yards down field maybe twice?
  20. Not exactly, and it confused me the first time I read the list too. The original Dallas Texans folded and were moved to Baltimore. Then a few years later Dallas got another team and named them the Texans who then moved to Kansas City to become the Chiefs. Screwy ain't it?
  21. If I remember correctly there was a Texans in the NFL prior to the most recent version....I believe they moved and became the Kansas city chiefs. It would be kinda interesting if they would wear those old uni's but I'm sure they'll just wear their regular garb *Edit* I was right, it was the Dallas Texans moving to Kansas City. Cool link I found, worth looking at. NFL History of Teams
  22. Gause and Ritzmann should make the PS, as long as they arent claimed off waivers. I cant see the Bills going into the Season with 3 DE's and no safety net on the practice squad. McFarland I think will be kept around unless better options show up on the waiver wire ezekial and Oglesby are my other 2 guesses Unfortunately I think Haddad and Tucker are ineligible for the PS, otherwise I would definately think they would make it.
