  1. Resign for cheap...he's played pretty well out of the slot and can run block...granted we need to run the ball to run block. Though he'll probably never be a number 2 in this league, he's better than nothing and better than wasting a draft pick that we could use for another position.
  2. Fischer would be great, I really like him. I just dont think the Titans are quite ready to pull the plug on him just yet, but if they do....Git R Done Ralph
  3. Gailey is mentioned either on this post or another...not a bad choice chow on the otherhand...take a look at Tennessee's offense and tell me you want that? He needs more time to improve at the pro level before you give him HC job.
  4. Jauron was kinda like LeBeau in Cincy....good coach with no team around him. He's a possible choice, but I have a feeling that Detroit will retain him after the season...though this is depentdant on the front office situation and resolution in Motown
  5. While his ST definately deserved to lose his job after the debacle in Tenn...I actually respect Wade for sticking up for his friend and coworker. It shows me that there still is Loyalty in the NFL, which is becoming harder and harder to find. Sometimes you gotta stick to your guns and go down with the ship. With that said, I dont think Wilson would even consider Phillips again as a coach in Buffalo. Doesnt matter, Wade will be the head coach of Houston at the end of the season.
  6. I think he's proved he not OC material in the Baltimore so far.... From what I heard last night on ESPN radio's Sportsbash is that Saunders is now the front runner for the Chiefs HC job when Vermeil retires...they didnt even mention Herm Edwards for it. Adam, Cottrell was mentioned in another thread that came out shortly after this one. I'd love for him to get the chance...he definately deserves it.
  7. Norv will be coaching South Central Louisian State next year if anywhere... Saunders has 3 seasons of head coaching exp, 86-89 in SD Kiffin has 3 seasons as head coach of North Carolina State Kubiak has no head coaching exp, but 10 years under the same head coach... I'd prefer a coach with previous experience...the problem is there arent going to be many out there this season
  8. Offhand I dont exactly recall but I would say about 75 - 85% of his total play time was in the first quarter of the game
  9. He might be good at recruiting Free Agents for us.....with trips on the company credit card to the Sundowner and other fine establishments
  10. Rivera's name has been thrown out by ESPN, but for no team in particular...dont know much about him offhand...guess I've got more reading ahead of me
  11. I think the whole problem was the fact that it was a courtesy interview and that TC wasnt taken seriously as a candidate...there was something else too, but I cant remember it exactly offhand...
  12. Well I dont like Fridge simply because he is the coach of a rival school Seriously though he has done a great job with UMD so much so that I can't see him leaving the college ranks. He has too many perks with that gig and he's making a great living out there in college park. Leach is more like a spin of the roulette wheel right now. He's definately brought the big air offense to TTU, but his offense reminds me a lot of Steve Spurrier and the Gators. Give Leach 2-3 years and a major bowl victory or 2 before he really gets some NFL looks. BTW I'll look for that article later. Good Ole Teddy...I wanted him to be coach of the Bills way back when...I always thought he would have been great for the job. However, I dont think he and Ralph got along too well. I definately think he deserves the chance to coach in this league, but I cant see him coming back to Buffalo a third time.
  13. You only get one choice, who absolutely has to go this year? My choice.......Mike Mularkey
  14. You know I forgot all about Chan Gailey...that is an interesting prospect as well
  15. Just a couple of other names I thought I'd throw out there as possible HC candidates: Al Saunders - OC Chefs Monte Kiffin - DC Bucs Norv Turner - HC Raiders (I hate this guy and dont want him in Bflo...but you never know what upstairs is gonna do) Jim Fassel - OC Ravens (He's done a great job there ) Gary Kubiak - OC Broncos Ray rhodes - DC Seahawks (gotta have a minority candidate) Only ones I can really think of that would have a chance of getting HC, most of which havent been mentioned. Out of this group I like Monte Kiffin the best. 23 years in the league, past 10 years as the def coordinator in TB. the guy has been around football forever, he's been mentioned in the past as a HC candidate, but I dont recall him seriously interviewing anywhere. Though I've stated in numerous previous posts that I would prefer a HC with exp at some level, I would gladly substitute 23 years in the league for a few years of HCing. Right behind Kiffin I place Al Saunders. Saunders has done a great job with the KC offense the past few years and maybe he could teach this team how to score some points. Also he has had some prior HC exp with the San Diego Chargers from 1986 to 1988 Kubiak has spent the past 10 seasons coaching with and learning under Mike Shanahan so I wouldnt be suprised if he knows a thing or two about the running game, which would be nice to have to compliment a solid back in WM. Also 8 years of QB in the NFL with the Broncos might be an asset to JPL's development. However, no HC exp and the fact the Shanahan pretty much runs Denver himself would be my primary concern. Ray Rhodes 37-42-1 record as a head coach between Philly and one season in GB. tough guy, knows defense, has coaching exp...fits most of what I'm looking for in a head coach. Even though his record isnt stellar he did lead Philly to playoff appearances in his first 2 seasons with them, which is far more than GW or MM have done so far. I wouldnt have a major problem giving him a shot with this team as long as a solid OC follows him Norv Turner... another Dave Wanstedt, good OC for JJ but hasnt done much since leaving Dallas other than his NFC title in 99. Not a bad offensive minded guy, but should have done much better in Oakland with Moss and Porter. Granted his contract isnt up, but I'll be suprised if Al Davis doesnt show him the door as this year. Jim Fassel...candidate for the Bills in 04 now serving as the OC in Baltimore...and we all know how great that offense is...I'll pass on Fassel.
  16. Sorry if these were already posted, I did do a search and didnt see them though. Free Agents at the end of this season Unrestricted: Justin Bannan, DT Kevin Thomas, CB Mike Schenk, LS Nate Clements, CB Ron Edwards, DT Ryan Denney, DE Sam Aiken, WR Shane Matthews, QB Trey Teague, C Restricted: Angelo Crowell, LB Mario Haggan, LB Josh Stamer, LB My Cut List: Trey Teague Bannan or Edwards, keep one ditch one and right now I see it as a toss up Aiken, Much as I hate to do it, he looked horrible in his only start and hasnt show progress Matthews will probably retire at the end of the year, but I see no reason to keep him on the roster Conditional Cuts: Kevin Thomas...depends on the status of his injury and rehab Nate Clements...if he refuses to return at a reasonable price Haggan or Stamer...do we really need to keep both? Depends on price (Preference to keeping Stamer)
  17. Dont give them any ideas.... Actually, though I do think it would be kinda cool...but who would they be the apprentice to if the front office gets canned?
