Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences
phypon replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Weird that he said that since they've run the ball more the last half of the season. Also, lot of running plays and plays behind the line of scrimage Sunday. Not going after you with this reply. Just pointing out the contradiction. Maybe he figured this out after the loss. Let's see what he does next year. -

Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences

Completely subjective on my part. Not that they don't want him, just seemed odd. Can't give you what pricked my ears up but give Beane's presser a listen and see what you thing. It's after the midway point. He mentioned Brady and then it came up again later in the presser. Presser is still not over at this point. -

Beane: "I have to evolve as a gm, Sean has to evolve as a head coach". Really? are they on a 20 year plan? Also, sounds like Brady is gone by the tone. -
Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences

Exactly. They're in damage control mode and laughing all the way to the bank with their salaries and doing their best to convince fans to take more of their money. This is total bs. -
Agree 100%. You just made my point.

He just did in the presser he just finished.

Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences

I don't like this guy. I don't think he's a good dude. Was it last year or the year before when he barked at a question about injuries and said something to the effect of "I have faith in every player on this team!!". This year, "we weren't as healthy as I would have liked to be". Which is it dude? F this guy. The best word to describe him is "inconsistent". Full of excuses and passes blame onto others. He even said Josh is maturing and he's getting there. Really? How about keep that one to yourself, just sounds like more blame and excuses. I can see why so many people are fed up with him.- 282 replies

Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences

Since Sean is talking now I'm guessing Beane isn't announcing McD being let go. Sorry, guys, but it's really unreal to keep this guy given the availability of better coaches right now, especially with a mini rebuild coming. This is really horrible. To me, keeping him is worse than losing on Sunday...- 282 replies

OMG! He's talking about how the first meeting with KC the game wasn't close, but NOW it is close. "Yay, we're getting closer guys! 4 more years!" Such a doofus. Can't believe he just said that like it's a good thing. "We still lost, but not by as much as we did the first meeting!" Can you say "participation trophy". You have to be f'ing kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the presser. Listening now. I really can't stand this guy, I just can't. If he's giving a presser that most likely means he's staying. It's going to be the same script every year he is here. It's just horrible, it really is...

Anyone in cahoots with a billboard guy? Maybe we can get one up in 2 hours.
-
Remember that hit by Nate Clements (think it was him). He'd probably get ejected in today's game for that hit on Brady.

It was me, I decided to take up sewing on game day. Oh, and for my first project I'm making a voodoo doll of YOU. Let me know how your knee feels tomorrow afternoon...
-
Serious question. What do you guys see as the cut off day for him to potentially be fired? In other words, if he's not gone by "X" day, he's staying. What's a reasonable date to say that he's "safe"? If he's not fired by tomorrow afternoon he's safe? By Thursday afternoon? Essentially, what is the cut off day where everyone can say that he's staying? Just curious what a realistic timeframe would be.

Valid points, but I think (and from what many others have said) is that the crop of available replacements this year contains proven, heavy hitters. Who knows what the coaching crop will look like next year. In my opinion, why wait til next year with the options available. If you give hime one more year, you may as well give him 2 or 3 or 4. I think that is what is adding a lot of fuel to the already burning fire.

I've listened to some call in shows and other content not affiliated with the Buffalo area, people that are fans of other teams sharing their opinion about the game and the Bills. Consensus is that he needs to go. Not only that, with the past playoff performance over the last few years, they see the Bills as mediocre and wasting Allen's talent and attribute it to coaching. It basically feels like a couple of years ago the Bills had respect and now they are looked at with a "lol" mentality and perennial division or wild card bouncers. The fake punt wasn't "aggressive", it was stupid. Callers have laughed at that play and stated that if you're going to go for it, put the ball in Allen's hands. I wouldn't call it aggressive, it was dumb, just dumb. With regard to the clock, if the plan was to run out the clock, why go for the TD? Are you running out the clock or are you going for the score regardless of the clock? Instead of picking one he tried to do both. That makes no sense to me. So he tried to run the clock yet was fine giving KC 2:00 for the go ahead score when they were moving the ball at will? Maybe it's me, but I just can't wrap my head around what the point or intent of that plan was. I'm just making a rant, nothing against your post. I can see how it can look aggressive, but in reality, it really looks more like confusion and stupidity. I def want this guy gone, especially with the quality of available coaches which does not happen very often to have such high end options.

Thank you for saying that the way you did. Reid with McNabb is completely different than Reid with Mahomes. And Reid's record with less is still better than McD's. You just did a mic drop with that post. Even at the worst of times for Reid it's still not even close.
-
Funny how when coaches and GM's talk about doing the best for the football organization when it comes to replacing players the ownership doesn't include coaches. The quality of available coaches right now has probably never been seen before in the history of the NFL. There are HC's available right now that are an upgrade over McD. That's a fact, it simply is. Need to hold these positions in the same regard as replacing players. It should be a no brainer to pull the trigger in a roster turnover year to also replace the upper coaches/management as well. 7 years of the same result is a LONG time in the NFL. Time to move on and Harbaugh is a great choice if not the #1 choice.

Listening to WGR right now. Chris Brown is ball washing McD and Mahomes. Saying Mahomes is the Michael Jordan of the AFC. What's he going to think when they get smoked by the Ravens next week?? The earlier hosts were at least critical, this is ridiculous now.
-
WGR has made some really good points this AM. - Fake punt - horrible - Not trusting the younger/more athletic players - Fluctuating mindset between playing for a win and then a tie - Fielding Sam Martin - Perhaps trusting Bass - Having Allen throw 16 passes behind the line of scrimage - Playing a gameplan that is afraid to score fast - Playing a gameplan with no faith in the defense (and he's the DC) I'm sure there is more, but that's a good start. And that's just this game, let alone the season or years past...
