  1. Stay Strong Man! I think Millbank is one of the only posters on both boards that I have never been left talking to myself after reading their posts.
  2. Thanks for the info...that makes sense to send the reporters to the corner. If hockey can broadcast from the roof of an arena, the media at a football game can have their sightlines at 45 degrees.
  3. Here's my idea.... Jim Kelly is up to something. I don't know if it is a Senate run if Hillary turned out to be the President, or looking to take a Board of Directors job or two...but I've seen him in a suit more times the past 8 months than I did all of 1983-2007. How nice would it be for Jim Kelly to hold a press conference with the Bills announcing that he is "stepping down" from being the namesake of the Jim Kelly Club, and that he would like it to be the Tim Russert Club going forward? Russert gets a lasting tribute where people might see some pictures of him in his Bills jerseys or with the players, it goes along with the theme of Van Miller and Paul Maguire, and Jim Kelly takes himself to even more of local legend status by making a class move like this while giving Russert a more fitting tribute than just a street sign. It's a win, win, win.
  4. From last year alone, you get a good feel. Edwards probably went to Reed 20 times or so on timing patterns and I can't think of one bad route offhand. He did the same with Roscoe 5 or so times and 2 ended up with interceptions that were 7 yards away from Roscoe! I'm not sure that Reed could find the cure for cancer, but I now trust him on the football field. EVer since he put the dropsies behind him, he is more focused. I know he was a little huffy about the lack of personal TDs last year, but I also think that was an offshoot of the Losman/Evans whining and Edwards felt he had to keep Lee happy. If Evans gets his $$ and can focus on getting better, then the offense has a chance to get moving. Last year really made me pause on him, but I don't know how we even think about not resigning him at this point. He may turn into the Chris Kelsay of the offense, but it has to be done.
  5. I'm willing to run an experiment. For those that feel it was possible for "Driver X" of the vehicle in question to not know he hit a person while taking the turn at 25 MPH and damaging his car, if you are willing to sign an injury waver, I am willing to set up the exact conditions of that night and hit you with my vehicle, and then tell you if I knew I hit you. They aren't using the Ralph's parking lot these days, so we'll take it to the fieldhouse lot that is paved with blacktop. I will get behing the wheel of a midsized SUV at say 11 PM. In the car I will have a copy of "The Humpty Dance" by Digital Underground which I will play at volume 6 of 10 with the bass at 10 of 10 (burrrrirerrrr..burrrrrip). My kind assistants, SD, Apuz, Obiewan and the other crusading holy rollers will aim high pressure power cleaners at my car, courtesy of Home Depot Rentals. Our friends that feel "Driver X" was set up can play the part of the girl. By the looks of it, many here would probably be lighter than her playing weight, so that shouldn't be a problem. You can skip, giggle, stumble, cartwheel, or do whatever you heart desires into the makeshift intersection, at which point I will connect with my fender and passenger side quarter pannel somewhere between your knees and your nipples. To make it fair, I will blindfold myself and take up to 5 decoy runs, any of which you can decide to enter the intersection. If I don't feel a thing, I will drive on. If I do somehow by the miracle of God feel the impact of hitting a somewhat large human being as I go 25 MPH, I will stop the car and come to your assistance if need be. I know that is a very self-righteous thing to do, thinking that I can help you in some manner, but I was all set to TiVo Conan OBrien anyway. To make it easy, maybe we can do it the night prior to the home opener since many plan to be in town anyway. I know that Canadian slut is faking her injuries, so you shouldn't have to worry about possibly being hurt and missing the game the next day. I grew up on Miami Beach, so for my security I would like a waiver to be signed, because the culture I grew up in had many lawyers, and they only brought lawsuits to make money off of innocent people.
  6. I'd rather have the Simpson sisters and $100 million.
  7. Reed has football smarts. Freddy Jackson looks to be bright on the field, which is why I can see him taking major reps as the season goes on. Roscoe + Hardy......ehhh....
  8. You could see this coming 2,000 miles away. It takes advantage of Edwards' biggest strength, his brain, as well as the OL's strength which is line calls and pass protection. I was disappointed we didn't draft a sharper kid this year. I figured John Carlson would be perfect to find open area. The reason I have been so hard on Hardy off the field is that I don't see him being anything more than a Red-zone and 3rd and 3 threat this year on the field. I see Josh Reed as the leading receiver, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Freddy Jackson pushing Marshawn for total yards. I still pray we pick up an intelligent veteran WR over the summer to help the cause. If Evans goes down, we are dead in the water. Pleased to see the new attitude. If the entire team stays healthy, Edwards is pushing for a Pro Bowl birth.
  9. I am sure they will do a full service in Washington, but the poetic ending is for Tim to come home to Buffalo. If he does, he will be bordering on sainthood. I think I would even go. What a role model. We had a family outing today and we couldn't help but talk about him, and at least on my end, I went back to the basics of just enjoying being there. We all have too many stupid little distractions....but we are lucky to have that Buffalo grounding to fall back on.
  10. It's a tough day man. Anyone with the moniker 'Tim Anderson's LunchPail' should know what Russert means. Be cool!......... Well said Tipst.....I am having as tough of a time with this as I would a close family member. This was personal. Tim Russert is the spirit that brings this board together. He was everyone's jolly uncle, and the type of guy you would run through a wall for. What a pro. What a legend. Drink'em if ya Got'em!
  11. It's the end of an era. His professional accomplishments aside, try and find ANYONE these days that isn't tainted with societal decay. Russert was an 8 year old boy and the wisest of men, all rolled into one package. If you are from Buffalo, and you haven't had to choke back tears tonight, you aren't a Buffalonian. You can still say you are from Buffalo, but you aren't a Buffalonian.
  12. I agree.....I have called their show a total of 5 times, and I was so flustered with this Lynch thing that I was about to comment about how we all come together to "celebrate" the Bills because they are an extension of our city, and I don't know how much more of the seeming downtrend in off-field situations I can take before I lose a big piece of that enjoyment. Sure enough, the news hit. Mike was kind enough to tell me it wasn't a good time for Bills talk and appologized for having me on hold so long, and I stayed on only because I had a personal story. I think Buffalonians all know what is important deep down, and we cut through the BS and come together.
  13. He was sealed with The Spirit and sealed with the Spirit of Buffalo. If you need to know how to tell if a person is good, look into Russert's eyes and watch his walk. Horrible......
  14. I made the mistake of playing that game and then went out and drove to Miami Beach. I was ready to drive through the red lights at 70 MPH.
  15. I agree with that point. Even if Lynch didn't pull over, the next morning when it was clear he was involved, how easy would it have been for him to come out and say, "Man...I'm so sorry. I am so used to the league telling us to stay out of trouble, and watch out for scammers that my instincts just told me to get away from trouble. In hindsight that was not right, and I'm sorry that the girl needed some stitches." Girl is probably fine....Marshawn if charged gets a $500 fine and light probation, and no story. Now this is real news, he has mounting legal fees and has a better than 50/50 chance of a suspension in my view, and may have actually emboldened the girl to bring up a civil suit by his brashness. Bad risk reward decision no matter how you look at it.
  16. I understand.....the topic of the thred is "what would you do?" I have given 2 very personal stories the past 2 days in order to not be some blabbermouth. The race card doesn't work. From working in housing projects in Overtown and Liberty City Miami.....going to the Dr in Little Havana or being the only white person out of 30 in a bank.....I think I have seen enough of everyone to know an !@#$ is an !@#$, and anyone that hits a girl and leaves her in the street is an !@#$. This entire debate is about all of us. A bunch of clowns that take time from their day to post on a freaking Buffalo Bills message board. When the apple is rotten, it is time to throw it out. The apple that is the Bills is showing some wormholes, and between the actions of their stars the past few months, their administration, and a good hunk of their fans....I think we have reached a tipping point. I question someone that does not at least pause and reflect on the actions of the past few weeks.
  17. The Bills RB's and the Buffalo Police have a long history together. Let's just say that I have knowledge of 4 RBs that have been given a break, not including McGahee, Henry and Lynch. These other 4 were all starters at one time or another. Players get breaks. Lynch would have been fine. You or I probably would have been fine if we attended to the injured girl. I hope Lynch pulls a rabbit out of his hat, because I want to like him. Instead this incident is taking down the whole team.
  18. You are right. There is a good chance that Jackson or Hardy were driving since they are both very tall and would be more comfortable up front.
  19. I will pay....Lurker will pay. The reason I agreed to such lopsided odds is because it goes to charity. This is a pretty key moment in Bills history. It's a real life debate. The NFL was the last bit of true entertainment and sports passion I still had, and the actions of the entire Organization have chopped me down a few notches for sure. First they draft Hardy...not just draft him, but over 2 or 3 other valid options. Three weeks later he used his 'get out of jail free card" both figurative and literal. Another three weeks later we have a Hit+Run of a young girl with multiple players on the scene, then the Bills Organization does everything in it's power to "support" their players and run a pick on the police investigation. Why else do you think all the security guys are being rung up? Going into last offseason, I was very bullish on the new season and couldn't wait for football to start. Now.....I am losing faith so fast that I hope I am excited when the season rolls around. I am a cynic by nature and do not live in a fantasy world that these guys are superheroes....but I at least hope that they are not complete garbage. Something Stinks!
  20. I gave a real life example yesterday of 8 East Aurora cops that came to a common sense understanding with me because I did the right thing and manned up to my teenage jackassedness. I'll give you another story. 5 years ago....Palm Beach Fla. Out on Clamatis St with friends and girlfriend. I was driving and not drinking since I had over an hour drive. 1 AM and leaving a parking ramp, or so I thought. I head down the ramp and notice the exit is closed. There is a car behind me and one in front of me. Before I could even signal to turn around, the Ford Expedition in front of me throws it into reverse at full speed and rails me as I am laying on the horn. Thankfully it was only about 10 feet in front of me. Everyone is ok in the car...I am in a near rage, and understand I probably have a drunken moron to deal with. It turns out to be a 18 year old girl and some random guy she was taking home. She came out and was hysterical because she thought I was going to kill her. Anyway, she was drunk alright. I look at my car and see there is damage to the grill and fender, but not very bad. The girl is crying because her dad is going to kill her for taking his car out and now she gets caught bringing a guy home (interracial by the way, and of obvious concern to the girl). I get all the insurance info from her and she is so nervous she doesn't even ask for mine. I get all her home info and a phone number, and tell her to have the guy drive her home since she was crocked and now a wreck. I thought for a split second of calling the cops, and figured security would come anyway, but they didn't. I let her off though knowing this experience should be enough to wake her up and she didn't need her life ruined for being an idiot driver. I had the repairs done and the girl put it on her credit card. She was not cute by the way. This was a case where someone made a stupid move, but I saw it for what it was and helped the girl out. Some may call me stupid for doing so, but the punishment that girl would have received would have been insult to injury. In reality, there is a 98% chance Lynch knew the girl was hit and took off. If he had shown concern for a human being that was injured, the Cops would have probably been more worried about extra paperwork and just focused on the girl. The cops give these guys a break as it is...I'm sure there would be zero story if Lynch was a man and stopped to help.
  21. There are 8,000 posts from you to make a profile. I try to be understanding and nice with everyone on the board since we are supposed to be here for a shared reason, but when people start to spin.....I lose all respect. Especially when someone expects me to believe their spin. The funny thing is, I would trust James Hardy more than I would you. Hardy may just be a product of stupidity. You purposely try to deceive.
  22. Lurker....I have said multiple times....I will pay the bet. If I had said OJ Simpson was going to run for over 2,000 yards in 1973, we wagered because you said it was impossible and I was talking out of my a$$, and then he had 1,999 yards in week 12 where he ended up injured and missed the next 2 games....true, you would win the bet, but I would be the winner. I made an opinionated call, some of the twobillsdrive elite came with pitchforks calling me a sealclubber, and here we stand today with Ralph Wilson going in front of a Grand Jury...probably because Hardy himself can't keep the story straight with police. I even posted the original Marshawn thread, JOKING that Hardy was driving, then went on to cover my bases yesterday and ask for an objective opinion ahed of the names being released. By the way, the only new face on the issue understands where I am coming from.
  23. Instead of focusing on one word in one post Bluefire The 2 Cent Lawyer.....read this
  24. I don't know if you are playing the part of a fictional character, but I feel that anyone with 100% objectivity and 100% mental capacity understands the gist of my original point in this thread, and would tend to admit that being in a vehicle at 3:30 AM after a night of drinking, when you are supposed to catch a bus to Canton, OH at 7:30 AM, and said vehicle runs over a pedestrian and takes off, leading to grand jury proceedings for yourself and 8 other co-workers while turning the potentially simple situation into front page national news................that this JUST MIGHT DISPLAY A LACK OF CHARACTER. The fact that you are playing 2 Cent Lawyer (Hey, maybe you can work on Marshawn's dream team), shows just the lack of character I am talking about, and referenced earlier in the thread about understanding that I am in a no win position because anyone that is willing to stand up for a guy like Hardy after the things he did is probably the kind of guy that not only won't pay off a bet, but would probably cop a feel off of his best friend's grandmother. The bet was for charity, so I am not too worried. The joy comes not at Hardy screwing up once again, but for all of the Twobillsdrive Aholes that whether they want to admit it or not, can go eat a big fat bowl of FU right now. I'm sure James Hardy can't even pay attention to this thread long enough to be offended if he tried to read it, but I have been called names or made fun of by a few dozen on these boards for simply having a strong opinion. Well, even though Mr Bluefire et al won't admit it.......I have a little happy spot in my heart that knows deep down in those all-knowing, non-judgemental brains of yours........that you are reeling. And you are reeling every day of your lives trying to justify being such a champion of a sh!thouse disguised as a palace. The Inflatable Raft that is the Buffalo Bills Franchise has just been punctured, and the lifevest that is Marv Levy is far...far away.
