Don't you think it's important for a judge to know what kind of struggles, issues, lives the people he or she is judging may have? Does a typical white male judge from an Ivy school has any idea of what the people he judges everyday are dealing with? Of course a latina who grew up in the Bronx has a lot more chances to understand what is really behind the cases she may have to judge than a middle class white male from a small town! It's not racism it's common sense!

i have no problem with plural marriage. It has existed for thousands of years in parts of the World. As long as it is a mutual agreement what's the problem? Other than not being in the "norm" what kind of problems does plural marriages bring?

what do you propose so? For me letting homosexuals having access to all rights heterosexuals have (including marriage, kids...) is the best way to fight homophobia because homosexuals become "normal" and can have the life of the societal norm you talk about. As long as you let homosexuals outside main stream society denying them any chance to be in the "societal norm" you feed homophobia, like ghettos feed racism.
