A Jacksonville article
olivier in france replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'd better be skiing in the Buffalo area or sitting in Rich Stadium than sitting on an empty beach in Jax watching some cold water and hoping no hurricanes are on the way! i live on the ocean coast here while originally from the Alps and i hear that kind of stuff all the time, how i should love passing winters in a better climate! I hate passing winters here, i miss the snow, the cold and the fun of my alpine youth winters! -
never post on that thread... 'd be funny my first post wins it!

MUST SEE Buffalo Attractions?
olivier in france replied to 3rd and One's topic in Off the Wall Archives
nice to read someone mention Fort Niagara, way more impressive and interesting than the Falls! The A Knox Gallery is great . Sabres and Bills games of course, don't forget UB Football and Niagara Basketball. In the summer i love the old fashion fun places that are the Erie County Fair and Darien Lake. Ski at Kissing Bridge in the winter Hiking at Alleghany SP in the summer a one day trip that is fun too is the 1812 boat in Erie PA, with a winery visit in the Jamestown area and if you have a little more time around there Titusville PA and the first oil field -

I agree too... I was pretty sure we'd win that Dallas game while after the last two MNF i never believed we'd win Monday Night! -
Of course the place you grow up and what's popular there has a lot to do with the sports you gonna like in your life. The more you have access to something the more chances there is you gonna like that thing. What's true for soccer in the US is true for football or baseball in Europe. 90% of europeans are gonna told you baseball and football are stupid boring sports and 90% of americans will tell you soccer is dull, slow, boring.... i have no problem with that as 95% of the population is stupid sheep anyway. My personal ranking of sports: 1/Football 2/Baseball 3/Rugby Union 4/Rugby League 5/Hockey 6/Soccer 7/Lacrosse. The rest of team sports i know (but i'd like to really know cricket, hurling, australian football and gaelic football) are not watchable IMO.

Football in Yankee Stadium?
olivier in france replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The ND-Army games were played at the old Yankee Stadium during most of the 30ies and 40ies they talk about this for a few months. link to my blog : http://elitefoot.blogspot.com/2009/05/notr...ee-stadium.html -
killing frogs for not eating them is a pure blasphemy!

Did not find any topic about it... Final is tonight USA vs Australia. I've watched some parts of the US games vs the Netherlands and Italia. Those girls are really impressing. And i could watch Jennifer Finch play softball the rest of my lifetime!!! I love baseball and never get bored watching some ballgames but with her it's like Heaven on Earth!!

High speed train in BY FAR the best thing the french government has built those last 30 years. It has completly changed the way we travel in this country. And with lines continuing to be built with some connecting now and in a near future Spain, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, it truly is the way most europeans will travel inside the Continent this next century. I 'll never understand why the US and Canada has not seriously started to study what would be obvious successes: Lines in Ca from SF to SD, in the NE from Bos to DC, in Canada the triangle OTT- Montreal- Toronto, the Texas triangle of Hous-Dall-SA, Midwest connections of MILW-CHI-DET-CLEV-PITT-BUF to Canada etc...

Check the USA roster at the link above. It's a selection of high school seniors all with scholarships in major colleges. Their coaching staff seems serious and they are in a camp for two weeks. (Joe D visited them the other day, there was a link on TBD front page) and well for team France, even if the staff is doing its best you gotta know there's no organised football in France for kids under 14... most of the kids in the team have less than 3 years of football experience. -
Attn: soccer fans (just wait 'til next year!)
olivier in france replied to Cugalabanza's topic in Off the Wall Archives
what's really impressing is not the progress made by Team USA, it's the level of this thread... you'd have never found that kind of well spoken soccer discussion here 5 years ago!! -
www.usafootball.com/jwc I have a friend who's gonna be part of the french team staff and our club is sending there one of the starting DE for the french team. France plays the USA in the first round so they have no chance to finish higher than 5th but it should be an interesting competition. If some of you go i'd like to have your opinion on the quality of play.

Asking people to "foment direct action against these individuals personally" is clearly a "solicitation to commit a crime", Tom. I agree that we should not consider what kind of ideas that guy has but it's way across the line of what the first amendment garantees. -
