  1. The Raiders select Rolando McClain "Wait what, what was just announced" "The f'n Raiders just took our guy" "Are you sure they said Rolando" "Yes" "This wasn't supposed to happen" "Umm this draft is moving too fast we're up" "Trade down, Trade down, buy time, buy time..." "Holy sheet wtf is happening" "Ummm we're up again" "I can't believe this, trade down we need more time" "Sir I traded down to the 24th pick" "OK trade with Bill and and get the Georgia Tech kid" "OK" Damaryus Thomas is announced to Denver "WTF, not him, the Defensive End you idiot" "Sir, Tennessee already took him" "What, when did that happen?" "Oh, Dear God what have we done" "Lord we need a miracle" "That's it!" "What's it?" "Trade some of our picks to get back in the first round" "OK, we're are back in at 25, sir" "Get Tebow!" "Oh, Dear Lord" "Yeah that's what I saying, now get him"
  2. PLEASE let one of them Okung!!
  3. I wouldn't be disappointed if we picked ILB Rolando McClain at no. 9 vs reaching for an OT like Davis or Williams if both Okung (certainly) and Baluga (Possibly and I'd be nervous about picking him anyway - not "Picking Anthony Davis Nervous" but he reminds me of Gallery in OAK). I could see us spending our first three picks on defense and would be happy with this (Although we'd have to trade up into the late 2nd for our third pick: Rd 01 - ILB Rolando McClain (Alabama) - 6-4 254 Rd 02 - OLB Ricky Sapp (Clemson) - 6-4 250 Rd 02 - DT Cam Thomas (UNC) - 6-4 330 On defense that would give us: DE Marcus Stroud - 6-6 310 NT Cam Thomas - 6-4 330 DE Dwan Edwards - 6-3 290 OLB Ricky Sapp - 6-4 250 ILB Paul Posluszny - 6-1 238 ILB Rolando McClain - 6-4 254 OLB Aaron Maybin - 6-4 250 FS Jairus Byrd - 5-10 210 SS Donte Whitner - 5-10 210 CB Leodis McKelvin - 5-10 185 CB Terrance McGee - 5-9 200 I assume we're not going to see Schoebel back on the field and I think Mitchell and Davis might be better as depth but they will push for a starting spot and make both McClain and Poz better because of it. I know we need a QB, LT, G among other things but we can't fix everything in one draft. If we went this route we'd at least - on paper - shore up our defense. Just a thought.
  4. As an Auburn guy I hate to admit this but you couldn't be more wrong. Rolo is the best LB in this draft and he's a game changer since you have to always account for him on the field. I wouldn't be disappointed if we picked him at no. 9 vs reaching for an OT like Davis or Williams if both Okung (certainly) and Baluga (Possibly and I'd be nervous about picking him anyway - not "Picking Anthony Davis Nervous" but he reminds me of Gallery in OAK). After reading that interview I could see us spending our first three picks on defense and would be happy with this (Although we'd have to trade up into the late 2nd for our third pick: Rd 01 - ILB Rolando McClain (Alabama) - 6-4 254 Rd 02 - OLB Ricky Sapp (Clemson) - 6-4 250 Rd 02 - DT CamThomas (UNC) - 6-4 330 That would give us: DE Marcus Stroud - 6-6 310 NT Cam Thomas - 6-4 330 DE Dwan Edwards - 6-3 290 OLB Ricky Sapp - 6-4 250 ILB Paul Posluszny - 6-1 238 ILB Rolando McClain - 6-4 254 OLB Aaron Maybin - 6-4 250 FS Jairus Byrd - 5-10 210 SS Donte Whitner - 5-10 210 CB Leodis McKelvin - 5-10 185 CB Terrance McGee - 5-9 200 I assume we're not going to see Schoebel back on the field and I think Mitchell and Davis might be better as depth but they will push for a starting spot and make both McClain and Poz better because of it. 5. First of course is my hope that we find someone willing to trade down with in the first round but not so far we miss out on DE Carlos Dunlap (Florida). It seems like Houton is looking hard at RB CJ Spiller so let's trade our no. 9 for their no. 20 and their 3rd rounder. I'd like to package Whitner for a 4th rounder too but really don't see that happening so my draft would go something like this. Rd 01 -- DE Carlos Dunlap (Florida) | 6-6 290 Rd 02 -- ILB Brandon Spikes (Florida) | 6-3 250 Rd 03 -- DT Cam Thomas (UNC) | 6-4 330 Rd 03 -- RB Ben Tate (Auburn) | 5-11 220 Rd 04 -- QB Jevan Snead (Ole Miss) | 6-3 220 ..and if it all fell into place like this I'd just call it a freaking day!
  6. Per Schefter twitter. http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter
  7. I'd love to grab DE Carlos Dunlap and NT Terrance Cody with our first two picks if we can trade down in the first round.
  8. I work a trade with SF for their 16th and 49th pick and then pick DE Carlos Dunlap, NT Terrance Cody, ILB Brandon Spikes and call it a day.
  9. My dream draft would be: DE Carlos Dunlap (Florida), NT Terrance Cody (Alabama), QB Jevan Snead (Ole Miss) and call it a day. I think we would be better served by addressing our LT position via free agency just to get us through the season. Maybe give Chad Clifton or Levi Jones shot - both are UFA - or try to work out a trade for a Marcus McNeil (Unlikely), Jeremy Trueblood or Alex Barron.
  10. Way to go JP! Jesus!
  11. And now Campbell is off the board. come on Josh!!
  12. Just went to NYG and Barrett's still on the board i think.
  13. I really hope we take a flier on this kid in the 7th if he's still on the board. He's had some injury issues but the major one was a shoulder which occured as a freshman and hasnt been an issue since. 6-2 225 and runs a 4.35 40 and is very athletic and would fit perfectly in our cover-two defense and allow us to sh-- Donte Whitner to FS which appears to be where the front office sees his best position as. I hope he falls to us because I think he could be a steal.
  14. I would agree if we were talking about the 4th round but I think Cottam is not that much of a risk.
  15. If we go TE I like Brad Cottam more than Martin Rucker and as far as DT's while Pat Sims had a great year at Auburn last year he has bust written all over him so I'd take Dre Moore, Red Bryant and Frank Okam in that order if we go DT. I would not be disappointed if we picked up OLB Xavier Adibi, SS Reggie Smith or C Steve Justice if they are still on the board at that pick either. I've got my fingers crossed for Cottam though.
  16. You would be right. He also played SLB in Auburn's 4-3 last year to ensure that he and frosh. DE Antonio Coleman were on the field at the same time. I was floored at how smooth the transition was and how well he did in coverage for never playing a snap there until last year. He also might slip out of the first round because of a heart thing that he had corrected with minor surgery. It's no big deal but "heart surgery' is not a phrase a first round pick wants to hear three weeks before the draft. Could you imagine a defense that had Harvey, Merling at DE and Groves as your SLB? Yikes.
  17. Carson not Cason and you never know after Kelly's pro day and med reports.
  18. I think it would be great to come away with two starters out of this draft so I'd be happy to trade away a couple of our picks and next year's first if it mean that we walked away with a starter at DE or CB and a no.2 (Soon to be no.1) WR. Obviously the dream draft would be grabbing Rodgers and then trading back into the first and grabbing Harvey and plucking Kelly in the 3rd round (Where he has a lot of value I believe.) and then drafting Carson in the 4th. A guy can dream, can't he?
  19. I think he's referring to players at schools between Tuscaloosa and Auburn, AL. such as Troy, UAB, etc.
  20. All the more reason to draft DE Derrick Harvey and trade back up into the first to grab WR Devin Thomas
  21. I still hold on to the belief that we've got enough picks to grab DE Derrick Harvey, WR Devin Thomas and solid CB in this draft. If we can dump JP Losman for a 4th I like our chances even more.
  22. Speaking as a die hard Auburn Tiger fan I would be very wary of drafting Pat Sims. The guy has bust written all over him. While he had one good year last year his career is marred with incidents of leaving the team, not being consistent, taking lots of plays off, etc. If he falls into the late 2nd or the 3rd I'd trade up to get him but there will be much better value in the second round at our pick I believe. I hated to say all that because of how big of a Tiger fan I am but that's my honest opinion.
  23. I would hope we would take DE Derrick Harvey with our first pick and then trade back up into the first to grab WR Devin Thomas even if we give up next years first rounder to do it. We should still be able to keep enough picks to grab SS or CB and TE which would really solidify this team.
  24. I wholeheartedly agree. My hope is we grab him and Devin Thomas slips to the second round or we trade up to grab him.
  25. I would think Devin Thomas might slip to the second round. If so I'd love to see a draft like my sig.
