  1. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...BF?OpenDocument Hmmm......this can't be good.
  2. I hope to GOD we do not hire an OL Coach as our OC. My alma mater (Auburn) did the same thing when we had a team that was ranked preseason no.1 and we we're just schooled by defenses all year. It was a disaster.
  3. I really don't think Houston can pass Young up but if he falls he doesn't get past the Jets or the Titans.
  4. Unless we trade next years first and our two third rounders this year for a pick in the bottom of the round. Of course we can't trade our 2nd this year because we'll need to use that to draft DT Rodrique Wright after we use our first to draft OT D'Brickshaw Ferguson. Now that would be a great draft.
  5. I would go so far as saying that Max-Jean Giles is the best lineman (O or D) in the entire draft.
  6. Any dream you wake up from that involves Bush I would argue is a nightmare. Oh, you were probably talking about Reggie Bush huh?
  7. Hence the title: "My Dream Offseason". As far as why I think he could be had pretty cheap if he's released and the only reason he hasn't played is because he refuses to play within the coach's system, blah blah blah. As far as Crowell I would think he's going to be spending a lot of time at WLB as TKO comes back slowly (Like everyone does) from his torn achilles.
  8. 1/14: All-American Classic 1/21: East-West Shrine Game 1/21: Hula Bowl 1/28: Senior Bowl
  9. Its too early to tell who and what we'll draft in rounds any later than 4th. In fact we still don't know who we'll take in the 1st but at least its a bit easier to project. Draft -- Rd 01 OT D'Brickshaw Ferguson Rd 02 DT Rodrique Wright (Had 4.5 sacks in 8 starts in 2003, 7.5 in 2004 and 4.5 sacks in 2005 and he's labeled an "underachiever"?) Rd 03 CB Antonio Cromartie Rd 03 DE Stanley McClover Rd 4-7 OL, S and LB Cuts/Not re-signed -- C Trey Teague SS Lawyer Milloy SLB Jeff Posey (I would add B. Anderson to this list but not sure of his cap hit.) Restructure/Re-sign/*Tag -- RT Mike Williams WR Eric Moulds DT Ron Edwards CB Nate Clements* LT Mike Gandy RT Jason Peters FA Aquisitions -- SLB LaVar Arrington (Likely will be released by WAS) OG Terrance Metcalf --- QB JP Losman/Holcombe/________ RB Willis McGahee/Lionel Gates FB Damion Shelton/_______ LT D'Brickshaw Ferguson/Gandy LG Terrance Metcalf/Geisenger C Duke Preston/_______ RG Chris Villarrial/Greisenger RT Mike Williams/Peters WR Eric Moulds/Parrish WR Lee Evans/Reed TE Kevin Everett/Euhus/Nuefeld --- DE Chris Kelsay/Denney DT Sam Adams/_______ DT Rod Wright/Edwards/Anderson DE Aaron Schoebel/_______ SLB LaVarr Arrington/Haggin MLB London Fletcher/______ WLB Takeo Spikes/Angelo Crowell CB Terrance McGee/Thomas SS _______ FS Troy Vincent/Baker CB Clements/king
  10. Bush, Leinart, Young, Ferguson, Williams, Hawk and Ngata should be the first seven picks. I think we'll end up with the choice of the no.1 CB, S or Kiwi but probably not a reach at DT or OL.
  11. Right. which is why i'm saying if these are the players available. I think everyone would agree if Ngata, Williams or Ferguson drop we'll be taking the, This is more of a "worst-case who would you take" poll.
  12. Hasn't he been injured with a high ankle sprain most of the year? Maybe that's why you're not too impressed, perhaps?
  13. I like Hali as well but I want to see what he does at the combine and how he really measures up.
  14. Just in case the first seven picks are Bush, Leinart, Young, Ferguson, Williams, Hawk and Ngata and we can't trade down do you reach and pick Kiwanku or Wright? Do gamble on taking another massive OT who may not be able to handle the speed of DE's in the NFL (McNeill)? Do take away the franchise/trade option for Clements and draft his replacement (Williams) or better yet, do you draft Vincent's replacement and free up cap space when you release him (Huff)? Do you draft an insurance policy for TKO or (If you're lucky) simply upgrade the SLB position and jettison Posey? Do you add a second TE who can be the dominant TE in the conference for years to come since Everett will not allow teams to double both of them? I think these are somethings we should really think about because odds are these will likely be whose left when we pick.
  15. I think he'd be a reach there since he projects as a S.
  16. DT Claude Wroten just got busted with 4K in cash a ton of pot in a routine traffic stop so he's out of the first round. I really jope Wright has dropped into the 2nd round -- what a steal he would be.
  17. I can't see us reaching at that pick for a RT (Winston Justice) or an injured LT (Eric Winston) who's slipping down into the lower part of the first round. I don't believe Ngata gets past OAK but no way is Wright a 2nd rounder. If he is then we're going to have an amazin g draft.
  18. He won't be our first pick but he isn't the player you claim him to be. I mean the guy had 7.5 sacks a couple of seasons ago for crying out loud. He is BY FAR the best DT in this draft regardless of what he did vs. USC.
  19. It looks to me that the OL is going to undergo major changes and upgrades but it may not result in an immediate improvement. I'd be really surprised if Mike Williams is allowed to walk with such an enormous cap hit so I'd expect him to restructure and stay at RT. Of course if the staff feels likeMW is never going to be the answer at RT and Peters is then they'll probably cut their losses. I guess we'll know around june 15th of this year. I don't think we'll be needing a C since it looks like Preston is the real deal or at least an upgrade over Teague. The more I think about the LT spot the more I look at it as an upgrade vs. solving a problem since Gandy did do some respectable work there. if we do upgrade then Gandy becomes a more athletic and comparably priced version of Marcus Price. Then there is the LG position. After spending considerable money on Anderson I hope they're not shy about going to the well again to try to replace him (Can he be cut with a less than devastating cap hit? Not sure.) with Bentley or Hutchinson. We could always draft a G but there is much there this year and I'd hate to use our first two picks on OL when we need DL help so desperately. If we can somehow get a LT AND a DT in this draft (Which is very possible) I think we'd be fools not trade up to do it. There's no reason we can't rebuild and reload our roster in this draft seeing as how we need a CB (If Nate leaves), SLB, FS and SS and depth along the lines IF we can address OT and DT with the first two picks. I couldn't imagine a better draft than one that has us taking Ferguson at 8 and trading up to get a falling Rodrique Wright (Don't believe the hype --- he's for real). Everything else is just gravy after that.
  20. So you've got two choices. Draft them out of HS or stop drafting OL because they are ALL overweight.
  21. Not really. Lazy and slow are two two different things and i'm not really sold on the fact that MW is lazy as much as he was hobbled by injury this year. If McNeill puts up the numbers a the combine his stock will go through the roof. the guy is 6-9 and sometimes you can't even see the DE he's blocking and for that matter, the sun. He's massive.
  22. I think the argument is "puppy" or "dog" at this point. However I wouldn't say he's the 2nd best player in the draft. I'd rank him 5th at this point but because of need he'll likley fall to us.
